5	Should it be this hard? It is a close to universal rule that one person is always more invested than the other. He is too invested & she senses that on some level. If he wants her to be much more invested, he needs to stop having the crush, amd give her better sex. It's not 100% guaranteed as I don't know all the details, however 'probabilities' say that is the best path for him to take if he wants her investment.
