Man, I feel for you. As someone who is still battling the grief, it's a dark unfun place. Couple of things that have helped me are therapy causing uncomfortable self growth and my son saying this needed to happen dad. Also expressed that now you both have a chance to be happy and that he still loves me.

Sounds like you're a people pleaser like me. I want to kick my ass for hoping that if I bend over backwards for them the nightmare would end.

You just described my situation. 25yr married 28 together. Just said "I don't love you anymore and want a divorce" while getting ready to do something. They went from healthy body weight to athletic/ changed their wardrobe/high maintenance beauty routine/friend group/dead bedroom etc. She waited for optimal timing. The way my ex said it I knew we were done and…

Thank you for sharing. I've hit what I hope is rock bottom, but I'm working on embracing that the only direction is up now. Hearing your story helps remind me there is a light at the end of this hell whole. The fight to keep the darkness at bay is exhausting but is forging us into better men.

Thank for this thoughtful response. Reading this helped remind me of the long goal and to forgive myself.

She made sure to keep me completely separated from them while we were separated but still living together and in her glowing up phase. But sounds plausible. The realization that I'm still on the struggle bus and she was done 2yrs ago sucks. Not a fan of feeling played.

Great question. She reset her friend group during the separation before the divorce of "like-minded" "motivated" ppl. She just stopped communicating with decade plus friends.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
