You need to document your side of the story (including her actions), and say “I will make sure to not use that language but I will in no way apologize for a mistake that I did not make” and “will avoid all unnecessary contact with the (woman)” I would CC the HR boss on it…

Unfortunately, women buy WAYYY more books…it is a feedback loop for sure I miss strong male authors. Hard to find new ones.

I think moms really do care about their sons. It’s the reason why women switched a lot of their votes to Trump this last election (it was a big swing in favor of R’s). They see their sons are struggling and voted for someone they felt would help their sons succeed. I think your wife is just not prepared to help your son for whatever reason (fear, inadequacy, lack of connection etc.)

If I ask her out, I’m paying. She’s reciprocating and asks me out, she’s paying. Scott also sends his kids to private- Ivy League level schools, and he flies private. Easy for him to levy this advice…

Borrow from friends and family to get a retainer for a good lawyer (I bet they could help you out). Your lawyer should help you set things straight, asking for a divorce after you have received your diagnosis is not a good look…. But more importantly. Do things that make you feel good, healthy, and centered. You can’t change her poor choices, so keep making choices you feel good about.

I think you need to stand up for yourself. Hey, “don’t bump up against me” “or I need a little space” “I don’t talk about my private life” Queen bees like this, are often looking for a target- pushing back, even just a little is enough to get them to back off Hopefully it isn’t your boss isn’t being physical too. If it doesn’t resolve, I would bring it to her attention, I wouldn’t be surprised if she intervened- more than likely she knows who you are dealing with. (I am in education…lots of expe…

I am set to get $575 a month, but I negotiated a front loaded deal when we divided assets- I subtracted future child support so I didn’t have to refinance the house.

I don’t know about that. I would just not put myself in a place where you are alone with her. No tech needed

I think this makes the most sense. She now needs to be placed in the dangerous person bucket…I would never be alone with her again. Or at least until her brain more fully develops…if it ever does.

Really sucks. But no contact ever again? Sorry, it happened - he gets to morn that, but he still chose to have a vasectomy… Doesn’t mean they need to be friends and “talk” But at this point, the silence is being used as a weapon, just like her control was a weapon It’s just going to mess up the kid more and cause resentment

What I am curious about is the sentencing after the conviction…will it be equal to a male teacher? Male teachers are still way more likely to assault students

The only benefits are stability for kids, certain tax benefits, and a more constant level of sex (studies show people who are married have more sex). But as someone who married a modern woman…it sucks when it doesn’t work out. Luckily, she makes more money than me and didn’t take her “pound of flesh” on the way out. Now how to start over 🤔

Same thing can be said of Ryan Adams, Louie CK etc. Weren’t charged out on trial, but going after teenage girls- whether it hits the legal/illegal threshold is not a good look and doesn’t warrant praise. Now I also don’t think it should destroy their whole life or invalidate all of their accomplishments either.

I think I see it. Correct me: they charm you, but don’t care what you think. Because it isn’t what they think, because what they think is most important. They also say what they say to accentuate who they are.

I could see this spiraling as people no longer want to have hard conversations, or discuss the differences of their options. Instead, they use manipulation and gaslighting to get people to doubt themselves and go with what the other person wants. “Maybe I am just wrong…etc”

I have always attributed narcissism to people who use other people to get their way. With no regard to how the other person feels. It’s more sociopathic/anti-social behavior. I don’t know… Edit: see Maxwells comment^

I agree, he should have walked away. The optics aren’t good. He is a huge powerful man and she is a little thing…won’t ever look good. As the title says, damned if you do.

That’s really hard. Reach out to those that love you and know you best, also reach out to the pros. Lots of good trained people keeping a look out for folks in need. Remember, you are a human being, you are entitled to feel whatever you are feeling.

You lose your ability to want things for yourself: hobbies, material goods, friends, time with friends -because if you want these things. You are selfish and not putting your kids first. -But it’s acceptable for girls night out and girls trips My advice, demand and set a boundary that you will have a space for yourself if you have children. It’s very important.

Ya X is great for having shit you don’t want in your feed popping up. I used to be able to get the information from the people I wanted in half an hour. It would take me hours now to wade through all the garbage blue check accounts to find what I am looking for. Elon is all about Elon with this company. He is all for freedom of speech, unless you bad mouth him too much.

You can call the State Office and see if they can walk you through a calculation (but they may also say she needs to release it…why you might need an attorney). She has a defined pension, has been paying a mandatory 5.8% percent contribution, which the district/state also pay into. Could be worth quite a bit…the State retirement office can at least walk you through what usually happens in a divorce.

I hear you. We are working on our papers and still in the house together. I went mountain biking with her brothers today. All are genuinely great people, including my MIL, who just tears up when she sees me. Such a sad thing. Too bad I am not “enough of a spark” for my wife anymore. I feel the feeling and then let it go with a deep breath.

I understand what you are saying. In my case, my wife makes double what I do- it it’s still 50/50 (includes retirement, home etc.)

If you want to hold this together. You need some intensive counseling. Find someone who will mediate and help level the playing field when you both talk. If she is mentioning the divorce, she has already imagined in her mind what that is like and is preparing for it.

Not worth it. You are at a morally higher ground, and deep down, she knows it. That will really play well in your favor if you try and keep it civil and work out what’s best for both of you. Divorce is a long game.

Some places offer flat fee. Most I looked into were around $3 to $5k Wife and I are filing the divorce ourselves. I may pay an attorney friend to look over it for me, for any glaring issues. My states online divorce documents aren’t that hard to fill out. The court fee is $350

I could agree, in some circumstances, but keep in mind brother is 23 I was a 26 year old virgin when I was married (belonged to a high demand/fundamentalist religious group- sex before marriage, big, big no no). I didn’t think of offing myself. That is something entirely different and is in need of a therapist and OP has not mentioned suicide is a possibility. Now if the guy is 50…then we got some concerns. But let’s be honest, the end result of an orgasm are the same whether with a partner or w…

Then I guess he should hire a therapist and learn how to interact with the opposite sex. His brother getting him a prostitute isn’t going to help…I would think it would make it worse.

I should edit, doesn’t always mean. Trying to find his brother a hook up isn’t going to solve the problem that you outlined.

I agree, lack of, or no sex doesn’t = depression. I would focus on helping him establish good social connections and date women. The sex part happens when he has good social connections and finds someone. Dating sites and lining him up with people isn’t a bad idea. But focusing just on the sex part isn’t going to help him in the long term. He is also only 23, not 45 and a virgin. He’s got time.

Girls have always done this (call each other), if you like her, and want to continue to date. I don’t see much problem.
