I think your take lacks nuance. This is true for some women but even so that is also affected by social tradition and factors.

I was even shocked at their extreme distaste for black women it seems. I didn’t hear about it until someone mentioned it. They seemed to push stereotypes and bias as “preference” which was incredibly disingenuous.

Thanks homes. F&F is a scary yet understandable hole a lot of guys can fall into. Glad you strayed away 👍

Well said. Both sides have truths but are too wholistic. If you are more concerned with defending your “pill”, then there will come a point where you have to compromise your views.

I think as much of a cop out as it is, the answer is both. Many women have unrealistic expectations based on past traditions clashing with current standards and many men have fallen into such disarray they can hardly be considered potential partners in any sense. And as time goes on that gap grows bigger and bigger.

I’m a dude but yeah this question is a bit skewed since the “prostitute” angle makes it more complicated. A better framing would be how would a woman feel about a man sleeping with say dozens of other people before her. The actual character of the people one sleeps with seems to be less focused on than the number.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/22 10:33 PM

Both are different sides same coin.

The irony is that a lot of RP rhetoric is fuels by continuing to care what women think. I can’t imagine a guy who doesn’t would spend time on RP content.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/22 01:49 AM
8

The main issue is that while some RP rhetoric can help men avoid toxic women, the advice ends up being coated over all women. Instead of allowing guys to vet toxic women, it pushes the idea that all women are inherently toxic, which unsurprisingly leads to a lot of guys becoming embittered toward women and some even going full black pill.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/22 01:46 AM

Except if you read my original message, that was my experience coming across many men in the RP sphere. That doesn’t mean all men. I’ve clarified this several times…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/22 07:31 PM
1

Correct. Speaking to them I realized they were less in want of a woman who shares their values and simply that they didn’t want to get cucked or cheated on or were grossed out by a woman even sleeping with a few other dudes before them.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/22 07:30 PM
1

Except that is what my original message was. I was talking about the men I came across in the community when I was in it. Of course there are some men who just want a woman to share their values. But for other men that is not the case.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/22 07:29 PM
1

I really don’t think you are able to approach this conversation with nuance…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/22 10:06 PM
1

That simply isn’t my experience and after talking with dudes who feel this way, you tend to get a deeper sense of what they are feeling. Doesn’t mean they still can’t have preferences but it’s good to address any underlying issues one may have.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/22 10:06 PM

I made an almost two hour video in regard to this topic… but yeah maybe I am just making it up.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/22 10:05 PM

It’s not false. As someone who was in the sphere goes long time this is my experience.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/22 03:21 PM

Men are free to have any preference they want but it’s important to be self reflective as to why one has those preferences as they may be as a result of deeper issues or insecurities.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/22 03:16 PM
1

Not really. When I was in the whole PUA/RP scene myself, that is what I ran into most. Guys who were very insecure about their dating/sexual life and were mostly trying to compensate for that. Again I don’t know why people frame someone being insecure as an insult. I was insanely insecure too when I got brought into TRP which is what led to my struggles with women. It was simply about addressing said insecurities that allowed me to get out of my own head. Of course there are those who simply wan…

The issue is that if we want to help men we want to remove any chance of them falling into those despair pits. Getting rid of toxicity in the RP community would give guys info they need without leading them down dark paths.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 11:28 PM

Because these “studies” only back up your arguments if you warp and twist them. That’s not how intellectuals form conclusions. That how ideologues support their biases.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 11:28 PM

Mostly just practice. I have the YT channel so I have plenty of time to iron out my thoughts.

Oh of course. Generalizations in and of themselves aren't inherently toxic, but often what happens in TRP is that they take general observations and then assign reasoning as to why they are the case, usually bent towards a very negative and bitter view towards women. Women are just as prone to being toxic, greedy, terrible individuals as men. But at some point TRP went from trying to teach men how to avoid these sorts of women and instead telling them that all women are inherently like this. Bec…

I think a mix of all if that isn't too much of a copout. Blackpill in the sense that, hey if you are 5,5, yeah dating is gonna be harder for you. Red Pill in the sense that, fairytale relationships you see on TV and movies aren't how the real world works, and Blue Pill, I guess, in the sense that relationships can be very rewarding and fulfilling and don't have to be these constant power struggles as RP often seems to frame them as. I have heard the term white pill in the past and I kind of like…

Assuming this story is even true, how does a single person’s experience apply to the entire female population?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 08:11 PM
2

Yeah unfortunately while I do agree that the extreme end of the body positivity sphere can be toxic, many guys take it too far in the other direction and think shaming people for being overweight is somehow useful. The idea of the body positivity movement is to not needlessly shame people for being overweight, too skinny, etc. and support healthy standards.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 08:04 PM
1

No but they're undeniably healthier than NO relationship, right? Not necessarily. That may be your inclination but isn't conclusive based on statistics. "Capitalism. CIA took over the feminist movement and narrative (first wave feminism ain't even feminists, it's suffragettes) to push a narrative that will increase the working population and keep men and women separated." K.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 08:01 PM
1

Being married nor lower divorce rates don't necessitate healthy relationships. This is what I meant about inaccurately interpreting statistics. I don't disagree that the dynamic between men and women has changed, but the answer is to find a forward thinking solution, not turn by the clock and return to the old ways, since had those ways been effective, why did the entire structure eventually fall apart?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 07:18 PM

Giving men basic social calibration skills without it leading to them assigning actions by individual women to a broader idea of "female nature". In my experience, it was believing all the women I dated were the exact same that actually hindered my results, until I dispelled with that idea entirely and just spoke to each woman as an individual.

"Two intelligent people can hear the same thing, think critically, and come to wholly different reasons for believing what they believe. The one thing we should all agree on are the facts though and it should be on us to push the facts." I find this blatantly anti-intellectual. This leads to bias coating the reasoning. Once you establish a fact, the next step is to see which explanation is backed up the most by hard evidence and other facts. This is the entire idea around the scientific method. …

1.) Perhaps this was back when I was in the mix, but at that time, most PUA stuff was pretty absent of any explicit RP stuff, and was thrown in here and there. However as time has gone on, I wouldn't be surprised if the two merged. Your other points seem to be driven by emotion. I have explained these points in other responses and would say they are pretty clear. "...traditional relationships were undeniably healthier than modern ones are and everyone with two eyes and a brain can see that." Onc…

I answered this in another response you posted, about how just pointing out realities without giving people the "why" will inevitably lead to them forming their own conclusions as to "why" thus resulting in a skewed view of reality. Again, if your outlook is utility is all that matters, I guess that's fine, but I simply don't agree ignoring deeper context to unveil more complicated truths is how to make quality and intelligent individuals.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 06:36 PM
2

And we agree that getting rid of fairytale blue pill thinking is good, but the idea that there is no middle ground between blue pill and red pill as they exist today I find to be simply ludicrous.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 06:31 PM

1.) Again, no... not really. I was mostly in the PUA scene and all the actual TRP stuff was mostly window dressing. Again, saying that these basic social calibration skills necessitate all the other crap within TRP is a fallacy, since that information is widely available elsewhere. 2.) I state most men "I come across". Is it not clear I was talking about my own experiences with men within these communities? I don't see how that applies to "all" men. 3.) Because 1.) it can skew the perception tha…

You can't get rid of toxicity in a community that's based around negativity. At the end of the day TRP exists because many men become disillusioned with women and their sex/romantic lives. There's no way to have a community based in that with zero toxicity. I think this is where we simply have an ideological disagreement. I simply don't believe this and have seen that demonstrated in say the video I made and the response to it, how you can give the same information without pulling men down furth…
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 06:12 PM

But I'm not going to throw out the baby with the bathwater. Which I don't want to do either. Which is why I want a reformed version of TRP that is able to give guys the good advice they need and remove the toxicity that leads them down a dark, bitter path.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 06:07 PM

1.) Except it did. No "tactics" really are implemented. You just gain more self-confidence, social calibration, and go on more dates. Trying to use these "tactics" usually leads to a.) getting too much in your own head, hurting your chances or b.) attracting poor quality women 2.) My contention was that was a common theme within TRP circles, not necessarily that every man who seeks a traditional relationship does so out of insecurity. Same thing with MGTOW. I actually think MGTOW is great, but i…

Oh I recognize more systemic, widespread issues, but assigning them JUST to say "female nature" is naïve and limiting. Issues in regard to social media, poor income, etc. all factor into why relationships end up on the rocks. My issue with TRP in regard to this topic is that they tend to break it down to a univariable analysis.

"RP rage is eternal only in a few men. Most posters you see in that RP rage phase are younger dudes under 21 larping. They'll grow out of it in 5 years." From my own experience, this is not the case, And even so, most men who I have seen grow out of the rage phase, drop TRP altogether as they realize that is in part what was adding fuel to the fire. And even if it isn't the majority of men, there is still no benefit of having the toxicity in the community, as getting rid of it will onyl aid more…

"Why? You're not explaining why this is an issue." Because while in one particular case it may not make a difference in outcome, it leads to misaligned and poor logical thinking skills, which in turn can bleed into other areas, especially in relationships in general. It's not BS at all. I am glad to hear you had a healthy masculine role model in your life, but this seems ignorant to the fact that many men do not which is what draws them to these toxic communities in the first place.

If I say I think aliens are buttf*cking on Pluto and ask you to disprove it... how exactly would you go about doing so?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 05:39 PM
1

Definitely. One thing that irks me is when I see crap like "if he doesn't want a relationship, THIS is what that means" or "if she doesn't text back, THIS is what you did wrong"... as if there is a simple solution to every single exact human response. Instead of just shrugging your shoulders and not assuming you have the answer and not letting the worst explanation plague your mind, people try to hyper-assign it to the point where it completely skews their perception of human interaction.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 05:36 PM

Oh damn, my b, misread the first statement. Again, I can't disprove a negative. What statistics demonstrate this?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 05:25 PM
1

Well said. I often see people properly notice an issue, but their diagnosis of said issue is INSANELY off.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 05:23 PM
1

Doesn't TRP say the exact opposite?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 05:21 PM
1

I tend to see that a lot on TRP side actually.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 05:18 PM
1

Except the diagnosis is what matters. Most TRP rhetoric just doesn't stop there, but assigns this as having something to do with "female pair bonding" or "female nature" what have you. That is the issue. Thus it isn't having a higher body count in and of itself, except this is what most TRP preaches. A perfect example of how they can take something and assign a misguided conclusion. You seem to have a much healthier outlook via TRP but that is not the case for most men who get sucked into it.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 05:18 PM

You'd have to give me an example of something Red Pill claims. I can't disprove a negative.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 05:12 PM
1

TRP didn't find you, you found it due to your lack of experience with women and your need to change that. Correct. And these creators alleviate themselves of responsibility by not understanding their root audience and how their rhetoric can lead these men down a worse road. This is the entire issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 05:07 PM
2

I'm not against this at all. I'm critiquing your ideas that: RP isn't helpful when in your personal life it was helpful.Men actually want hoes if they're not insecure.Your relationship history doesn't say anything about you going forward into new relationships.Scientific evidence doesn't matter because you personally don't agree with it. 1.) Again, you are misunderstanding my contention. Going out and speaking to women on a nightly basis improved my personal life. All the other stuff about "fema…

"I'd disagree and say they have an audience who look poorly upon women because women look poorly upon them and people are reflective like that." Which is based on an emotional response. Correct. "Without RP who's to say you wouldn't still be sexless with an even more negative attitude about women?" Again, a very common argument I see. Even if a guy ends up getting some help with TRP, it often leads to these guys becoming more dogmatic in their thinking. Like I said I am all for a reformed versio…

Been poking around here for a bit to offer my perspective given my own experience; it is a bit sad to see a lot of men buy into Red Pill rhetoric as if it is religious dogma, even when you point out statistical evidence disproving their claims. I've tried to have some guys on stream to discuss these ideas but most aren't for it as their theories crumble quite quickly. Kudos to those trying to bring more logical understanding of these issues to the table and debunking a lot of TRP nonsense 👍
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 04:58 PM
1

2-6 would be considered high even among TRP. But in any case, this is once again a result of allowing emotion to lead to conclusions based on data. If someone say has slept with more than 10 people, if evidence shows they might have less success in marriage or relationships, this could be for tangential reasons in regard as to why they slept with that many people in the first place. I’m trying to urge guys to not let their emotions cloud their logic and truly try to understand an issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 04:54 PM
2

The statistics they put forth are not conclusive and then the person tends to derive conclusions based on their biases. Ironically while TRP touts itself as logical this is uniform within the sphere. I am trying to get guys to look past their biases and consider the larger reasons for issues, not just going in the direction their emotions pull them.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 04:51 PM
1

I’m sure it does based on your preconceived biases.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 04:47 PM
1

That goes for both men and women and that doesn’t necessarily mean that is a poor marriage compared to others. Again it seems like you are letting your emotions cloud your objective logic.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 04:47 PM
1

Call down my man. If you look at any major creator on any of their videos the comments are filled with vitriol and spite. Unless you don’t consider it to be which I think speaks to your own biases.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 04:46 PM
1

Again this is ideology on display. I don’t make any conclusions unless I have valid studies with a plurality of evidence. You seem to just go with what “feels” good. I suppose that is your choice.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 04:36 PM

The one I responded to? We went over that and the own study he posted debunked his own contention.

Which is why I stated I would like to see a reformed version of TRP. Just because something has benefits doesn’t mean one shouldn’t criticize it’s shortcomings and flaws. I’ve heard this a lot but ironically it is usually Rep Pill dudes trying to dodge accountability for their rhetoric. Most RP content creators have audience who have seething content or look poorly upon women not based on reality but their own warped perception of female “nature”. They never consider if their rhetoric is exacerb…

Aka I can’t back up my points statistically so I am going to make an emotional decision based on a few anecdotes and say anyone who disagrees is lying.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 04:30 PM
2

This is precisely the point. I’m all for a more healthy version of TRP but as long as the grifters exist they obviously will attract the bulk. And when even “moderate” redpillers don’t call them out then it speaks to their intentions and character as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 04:29 PM

Of course I am. That’s why I rely on statistical data to make my claims not personal anecdotes as you are doing.

Thank you for proving my point.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 04:17 PM
1

Again you are assigning the cause based off your biases. There are many reasons as to why a dead bedroom may come about. Just assigning it and blaming the woman in all cases is common Red Pill theme I see and is one of the main issues in why the rhetoric tends to prevent guys from taking any accountability and them developing a victim mentality.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 04:17 PM
1

Which dude? Of the ones I saw before I went to bed they were all pretty poorly thought out responses based on emotion which is what I mostly get on here. Was hoping for logical debate. Always like to have people on stream to talk about it but so few actually are able to defend their points.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 04:14 PM

It really isn’t and you are simply using your personal bias to explain statistical evidence. I find this is commonplace within TRP.

For men and women. And I am discussing my experience wish men in TRP circle after being in it for years. If that is not your case that is fine. There is nothing shameful about being insecure about something. Don’t know why you framed it that way. What’s shameful is not recognizing it and blaming others for your faults.

This is false based on statistics.

I don't think you are properly interpreting the findings of the study: "When people couple up, they (and their partners) enter into relationships with their own personal relationship histories — if those histories include a cast of previous ‘no-strings-attached’ sexual partners and/or acceptance toward casual sex, then staying in a satisfying, long-term relationship (such as marriage) may be more difficult" But also... “Unrestricted sociosexuality was not associated with poorer marital outcomes …

Correct. Women are just as inclined to this, although sexual performance seems by and large to be a larger insecurity for men. However, in regard to the article you posted, it's important to improperly construe data: "Unrestricted sociosexuality was not associated with poorer marital outcomes among people who had frequent, satisfying sex with their partner or reported low life stress. This is important because it suggests that unrestricted sociosexuality is not inherently bad for relationships,”…

I may also have a pretty terrible taste in women. Correct. Ironically these Red Pill dudes obsess over these toxic women, yet instruct men to behave in ways that attracts said women while alienating actual quality women. Which leads to these men realizing these women are toxic, getting bitter, and the cycle continues.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 07:36 AM
13

Oh it's not logical at all. Most of these men build that up in their head. They fear her ex is bigger or better in bed then him, when in most cases women don't really give a crap about size for the most part, since pleasure isn't that simple.

/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 06:58 AM
9

Why would I go through the effort of making a 2 hour video chronicling my experience and actually trying to empathize with men who get roped into TRP, when as a content creator, it would have been much more monetarily incentivized to just call them misogynists?

And that is fine, but this isn't how TRP exists today online. It mostly consists of bad faith grifters who realized at some point they can make more money by keeping men angry and not helping them and young guys who already enter the space in a fragile position. That is fine for you, but we are talking about the larger community's effect on men in general. Many if not most young guys who are led to TRP don't have the fortitude to be able to take it all with a grain of salt. I actually think a re…

This is a common thing I hear from RPers, Rollo Tomassi "praxeology" brand, but it always rings hollow. If your "understanding" of women is based on quasi-evolutionary psychology and statistics that are mostly built on subjective conclusions or personal experiences (which of course would be skewed within a group where men are drawn usually after poor experiences with or general resentment for lack of success with women), it isn't surprising that it will lead to most of these men adopting very bi…
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 06:44 AM

Precisely. But again the issue with TRP is that is creates these large generalizations based on very small and limited sample sizes, not to mention subjective views of their own relationships. When one speaks authoritatively to men who have very little experience with women, it's not surprising that so many men end up becoming completely despaired.

Men who tend to be very obsessed with finding a “traditional” women whether online or in person seem to be, at least in my experience. They have a very romanticized view of traditional women. That isn’t exactly the same as simply wanting a woman having the same values as you.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 05:37 AM
13

And if that is your experience that is fine. As someone who was the same as you, former TRP, same number of sexual partners, my current partner has been with other guys and it haven’t affected our relationship. It’s more about individual women. When it becomes generalized that is the issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 05:36 AM
15

I mean the fact that you seem to be really hostile towards my comment seems to make me thing this is related to insecurity in your case. But in any case, I am simply going off of experience as having been a former redpiller and the guys I saw there. Being insecure isn’t shameful. Convincing yourself everyone else is the problem to sidestep improving yourself is.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 05:34 AM
12

Having insecurities isn’t shameful. Idk why you framed it like that. Many guys in the sphere are horribly afraid of being taken advantage of or cucked or whatever, sometimes for good reason, sometimes due to Red Pill propaganda. The issue is that men become so afraid of this they are never able to muster the confidence to enter into a relationship because they fear it might end in disaster. TRP rhetoric only enhances this.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 05:32 AM
10

Precisely. But that doesn’t necessarily mean it is at the fault of women. Guys are drawn to it because they want guidance and some of that guidance is useful but unfortunately most TRP rhetoric is completely far gone and only ends up hurting these men in the long run.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 05:29 AM
25

That’s pretty naive and close minded. The majority of men are able to have fulfilling relationships with women. The men who are too seeped into the toxic ideology have to convince themselves of that because if they don’t, they have to face the fact perhaps their inability to enter a quality relationship is due to their own shortcomings.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 04:11 AM
15

It’s not false. You may have different experiences or have a different opinion but as someone who has been seeped in TRP for a long time, this is what drives a lot of men to have a romanticized image of “traditional” relationships. They often have trouble getting any relationship at all because their either can’t trust women after being lumped full of so much TRP rhetoric or they are unprepared to handle the actual work that goes into making a relationship work.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 04:07 AM
22

“…it prevents them from being able to trust anyone, thus destroying their ability to have any sort of fulfilling relationships.”
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 03:56 AM
25

Most guys get into it because they want to feel better, less despondent, more hopeful about relationships. And while TRP can help them in some ways, especially when it comes to relationships with women, it prevents them from being able to trust anyone, thus destroying their ability to have any sort of fulfilling relationships. It’s a good grift since it keeps them coming back to red pill rhetoric for validation but prevents them from becoming well adjusted and healthy men.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 03:43 AM
22

Thanks homie. Not on much but like to try and give me perspective on here time to time since I’ve been through hell and back in the whole Red Pill nightmare. It’s hard to see other guys who are in despair turn to TRP when I know where it will lead them.

Most men I have come across are less into the actual idea of a traditional woman, and more looking to quell their insecurities: they feel a woman with no of few sexual partners can’t judge their sexual performance, traditional women are supposed to be less likely to cheat and are more apt to allow the man to take the lead, more likely to put up with any unacceptable behavior. Their perception of a “traditional” woman is usually off base.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/02/22 03:06 AM
22

As someone who was deep in the red pill/PUA sphere, while there are nuggets of truth in the rhetoric, most of it gets taken way too far and ends up skewing your entire perception of reality. Truly the worst effect is that is results in basically you unable to trust really anyone, men or women, as everything is framed as a power struggle. It’s good to know when a woman may be enacting toxic behavior on you, but it’s not a good thing if one can no longer trust any woman no matter what she does.
/r/ExRedPill02/02/22 02:57 AM

I think it isn’t a total red flag, simply that a larger age gap tends to allow more room for some sort of power imbalance. But you are correct in that age isn’t the only thing to factor in. I’ve met 18 year old people who have been very mature and have a good grasp on their emotions while I’ve met people in their late 20s who have the maturity of a middle schooler.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/22 04:24 PM

I didn’t say to not be forward, simply that it is less of a hard yes or no and allows her to feel more comfortable in communicating how far she wants to go and that she can stop if she pleases. I’ve been with a number of women and it has never been received poorly and some even really appreciated it. Most guys who have that sort of “it kills the mood” vibe tend to not have much experience with women and are just going off of stereotype.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/22 04:15 PM
2

"How far do you want to go tonight?" A good phrase that I recommend for guys. It's a lot less forward and awkward but still makes for a comforting atmosphere.

Her: "Yeah, this dude at the bar kept hitting on me even after I told him several times I wasn't interested; he just kept drunkenly blabbering on and on about hypergamy, being a 1% 'alpha' male, and all the NFTs he was scooping up." Therapist: "You poor thing" *scribbles notes*

Could not possibly care less. I’ve found someone who engages in a lot of casual sex is on average no more or less pleasant, caring, loyal, etc. than a virgin bride.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/21 11:00 PM
1

Eh I’d say it’s more men are often so starved they don’t have basic standards which in turn leads to them not entering healthy relationships.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/21 06:27 PM
1

The issue is not men of women, it’s men AND women who view a relationship as an entirely transactional affair as opposed to a partnership. Maybe RP men have the same mindset as the women they criticize.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/21 06:08 PM
1

Sure. I mean that is how I would view an egalitarian relationship anyway. Me and my gf have been together 3.5 years and we split everything. If you are in a relationship where it is framed as the man offers the resources and the woman supplies the sex then that’s a pretty miserable relationship IMO. A healthy relationship should entail y’all banging because you mutually want to.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/21 04:11 PM
4

I don’t know what’s hard to understand. If two people are hitting it off there is usually a mutual desire to have sex. If a guy is in any way “pressuring” a girl to have sex then the girl doesn’t seem to be that into it no?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/21 03:24 AM
5

I’ve definitely seen both men and women like this. But honestly if you are internalizing if you are the “hotter” one in a relationship that probably is why the relationship isn’t working out that well.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/21 03:15 AM
1

Then the answer is to educate them and make them to take notice, not to become the equally as toxic snd cringey other side of the coin.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/21 02:52 AM
2

Correct. If I was critiquing I would just say masculinity. Toxic masculinity semantically implies there is non-toxic masculinity. Are there those that use this improperly and misconstrue it? Of course. And we should criticize those people. But throwing the baby out with the bath water will only lead to men suffering and I don’t consider that to be acceptable no matter what.

This is rather silly. This is the same argument used against men when they talk about issues affecting women. Arguments should not be based on ones gender or sex but facts. We can discuss loved experience but there is empirical data demonstrating what behaviors leads to bad outcomes for men and women. If you are truly for equality you should champion for the best for both genders.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/21 12:38 AM
10

No. That’s equality of outcome. I preach egalitarianism in that everyone has their own free choice. Women can wait as long as they wish; men can decide when is too long for him to go without getting laid. Neither extreme is advisable as it inherently goes against free will and choice.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/21 12:35 AM
2

Toxic masculinity leads to bad outcomes for men. Why would being against that be anti-man? I don’t defend anyone who says all masculinity is toxic or men are inherently bad and I will criticize those along with you, but I believe in results that actually help men, not a mentality that only results in them stewing in anger and bitterness which in turns is a diminishment their mental health.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/21 12:32 AM
28

A woman can choose when to have sex with a man whenever she pleases. If a particular man doesn’t want to wait, that is his prerogative and doesn’t have to spend any more time with her.

Take care homes.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/21 12:28 AM

I don’t think I care to engage in this any longer as you seem very emotionally compromised. If there are some who improperly use the term toxic masculinity, I will stand beside you and criticize them. On my channel I’ve discussed my own issues with feminist ideology in particular. But I have no interest in “pinning” anyone down. This isn’t productive whatsoever.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/21 12:26 AM
1

I can’t speak for those women but I don’t agree with them and it seems you may be falling victim to frequency bias aka using a small number of women to paint a larger picture. In any case as I said I believe in healthy masculinity and we can discuss our own definitions of what it should entail but I don’t have any interest in defending people I also disagree with. Doesn’t result in any positive o it comes and only leads to young men falling deeper into bitterness and anger.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/21 12:22 AM
1

It seems you are quite defensive so It may be hard to get through to you, but I actually call out the lazy use of the term as well. I fell victim to these toxic standards myself and was able to thankfully crawl my way out of it with the help of my family and friends. I think masculinity is important for your men but again that completely depends on what one defines as masculine. A lot of “masculine” men I see online blame others for their problems and are filled with bitterness and let their emo…
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/21 12:19 AM

Perhaps though I chalk it more up to men not really being able to be given the chance to have more emotional balance. It’s either all or nothing in terms of their emotions thus it manifests IRL.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/21 12:17 AM
1

My bad. Can’t tell sometimes lol
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/21 12:14 AM
1

That’s not what Motte and Bailey is. Masculinity is only as good or bad as what you define it as. If what you define it as leads to toxic outcomes for men, then it’s toxic and getting rid of it is for the good of the men. It’s as simple as that. I can’t speak for anyone else but both are equally as toxic as it leads to men and women chasing some archaic view of what men and women are supposed to be which leads to them messing with their own lives.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/21 12:13 AM
1

Well unfortunately that’s what happens with TRP and TBP. They are given such a pessimistic view of relationships they opt out altogether and don’t realize how they’ve been duped until down the line or alternatively just stay angry their entire lives. It’s very sad to see.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/21 11:55 PM
3

People being happy is in most cases their own fault. It’s not a gendered issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/21 11:51 PM
4

I often hear a lot of RP dudes claim that men are more logical than women. I don’t think either gender is more logical on average. What I DO see happen is many men aren’t able to have more nuanced takes and believe in an all or nothing sort of mindset as you said.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/21 11:50 PM
1

Well no one is saying masculinity is toxic. But rather the pursuit of some archaic version of masculinity can be harmful to men themselves. Being fit is great. But if a guy feels like he needs to have a six pack to be a man which in turn leads to him taking dangerous substances or starving himself, that’s toxic. Same goes with toxic femininity. Masculinity is not a set in stone template for what makes a man, thus getting rid of the aspects that lead men to ruin only helps men themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/21 11:49 PM
7

Correct. Most men who are frustrated with the dating market are projecting their own lack of self worth and confidence. Before men only had to offer certain things in regard to providing for women but now since women can provide for themselves men need to find out what else they can bring to the table. Many men are struggling with this thus it results in them lashing out which isn’t exactly surprising. The Red Pill stuff claims to help men adjust but instead of giving them practical sensible adv…

I mean just the acronym. From my days in the PuA and RP community, every time I hear the terminology it makes me cringe as most men who used them had very little actual experience with women. No not really. But again I am not sure what your experience is but the idea that a man would just go up and ask to bang and then a chick would leave immediately is a bit of an incel/black pill delusion. Even very successful guys would often be turned down if they approached like that since most women wouldn…

Well yeah but that is a bit of an emotional knee jerk response. You don’t NEED social skills but they are quite necessary if you are looking to approach and try and engage with women in relationships which is what the original question posed was regarding. Seemed you sort of took it off topic in the first place. And again I am not sure what your experience level is but as someone who was very seasoned in these environments that usually only applies to a smaller number of headstrong women as oppo…

Nah that seems pretty doomerish thought based on an emotional response as opposed to facts and logic. In any case, as someone who went through their own hoe phase, trying to meet women for casual sex can actually require more social skills since if you go to a club or bar or dating app and are just looking for something casual, most women have the pick of the litter if they are also just trying to get laid so being the guy she chooses when competing with lord knows how many other guys at the sam…

I wouldn’t say they are more or less difficult, just different depending on the circumstances, area one lives, profession one is in, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/21 08:59 PM
1

I mean it doesn’t really affect me at all since the fewer men in the dating market the more changes guys who are able to approach women but in any case one doesn’t need to have these socialization skills BUT it will lead to less success in the dating world. If a person is cool with that, then no worries. But if a particular guy wants better results in terms of dating and relationships, yes, these are skills he needs to practice.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/21 12:39 PM

Primarily the lack of socialization. More time spent online and without face to face interaction results in men not really having the skills to be able to approach women effectively. Red pill propaganda pumps them full of fear about how horrific rejection can be when statistically a particularly soul crushing rejection is incredibly rare. Which in turn leads to men giving up on the dating market and letting themselves fall into disarray. Hopefully we will see a change in the future of men gettin…

Mostly lack of empathy. Most men, especially in red pill circles and what not, have literally no experience with women, thus seeing them as sexual beings at all can be quite strange. A lot of these dudes speak of women almost entirely in an anthropological sense which can be cringey.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/21 04:31 PM

I think the issue comes from men not really having an understanding of what we mean by “intelligence”. Having a high IQ isn’t going to do you any favors if you are insanely socially awkward. Who cares if you know a bunch of random facts if that isn’t displayed in your relationship. When women say they appreciate “intelligence” this is more about how it ties to one’s passion or drive. A dude can know a bunch of stuff about Egyptian culture but… so what? However if he is a scholar or maybe works a…

This is an absolutely insane comment. This is in jest right?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/21 10:53 PM

Not really a fan of this sort of rhetoric. Trying to say which is “better” or “worse” is rarely productive and only leads to empty arguments that go nowhere.

Not at all, just to simply frame the conversation. So if we are talking about circumcision, if people start bringing up FGM or Jews or Muslims, it can get out of hand quickly. It's not that you can't discuss these things, simply that as the owner of a large platform, you may need to curb it from time to time. I am not saying they always make the right call and don't make mistakes, but it's equally as disingenuous I'd say to find some ulterior motive behind doing so.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates30/06/21 12:05 AM

That’s sort of a reductive way too looks at it. There is no issue with criticizing customs of certain faiths but often these conversations can easily be co-opted by those who are truly bigots who then can reframe their conversation.

Hello! I am the YTer in question. Let's clear a few things up: - I asked you for evidence to support your assertion that the subreddit is very hostile towards those who do not think like them. However the individual in question was NOT a mod and said instance occurred 6 years ago thus I do not know how that pertains to the community today. - My contention with com…
