I agree they’re invasive which is why I laughed at the previous commenter :)

Can you expand on point 2? Because I understand if it’s something direct like - “how much do you make?” But if it’s something like “what do you do?” or job title then I think it’s normal.

I feel like not being able to be with male guy friends one on one is a deal breaker for most people. If two people are genuinely friends and have been for years it shouldn’t matter, especially if you trust your partner.

It’s super hard to put both physical requirements and personality/status ones into 3, so I’ll give 5 most important ones. Well-traveled, someone who loves to travel and explore the world. Is open-minded to new cultures and spontaneous. Similar values on things, and an attitude to being able to change one’s mind. Relaxed, is able to take it easy, and enjoy the moment. Understands that life is a marathon, not a sprint. Yet at the same time is able to balance being “chill” with being ambitious. Com…

Bro you’re literally treating women as a collective by trying to prove the opposite. Make it make sense 😂🙄

I mean I completely disagree. I have friends of both genders, genuinely. What’s there to discuss with a woman or a man? The same stuff you’d discuss with your other friends lol. Male friends are more pro-active usually, they’re helpful and fun, while my female friends are more emotionally supportive and help me be vulnerable. Friendships build a great social circle, expand your interests, provide a safety net for when you’re down etc. Limiting your friendships to one gender seems so bizarre to m…

Why do you not have male friends? And why is it a big deal if your partner has female friends while you don’t have male friends?

Jesus my guy chill out. You’re so paranoid of gold diggers as if you’re making north of 7 figures. 185k is very respectable but most professional women make a ton too, any person in tech, in finance or in the medical field is likely to reach this salary. I know you said you’re done with women and that’s totally your choice but that’s on you. A bunch of women make just as much as you, and a bunch more don’t actually care how much you make in general. If you wanted to, you could easily find someon…

Hey girl, yeah I see your point better now! No offence taken - just thought the “lack of values” comment definitely has negative connotations, that’s all. Also, (hope you don’t mind) looked at your post history and an internship at Yale is incredible! I’m going there for grad school in a year though in a completely different field. We need more women in STEM, and you seem super cool. Good luck on finding the right partner that suits your needs, and I hope I find the right one for me too in due t…

Sure, I’m not arguing with your first point. I tend to stick to, and prefer men who have experience and don’t see having sex as having a “lack of values” (???Please expand - feels borderline offensive lol). They’re just different priorities I guess. People with less experience are at a disadvantage when it comes to other things and vice versa, which is why it’s important to find the right partner for you. “She’s just saying that is shows an inability of the person to commit” - this is what I hav…

I didn’t think I need to explain it because it felt so obvious to me. I guess it’s how I, as well as my friends, approach relationships too. I am attracted to some guys, I kiss some guys at clubs or on dates, but not every single interaction of the sort leads to a relationship. With some, I just thought they were hot but our personalities are incompatible, with others we tried to date but it just fizzled out/didn’t work out. If both people are clear about their intentions, and no one is hurt the…

No that’s a terrible analogy and doesn’t illustrate the point well. A better one would be, I interact with many people but I only have the intent of being friends with some. Same with sex. Not every sexual relationship needs to become romantic and be treated as such.

Yeah I think this is a common misconception on this sub. Sleeping around with people doesn’t mean a person can’t value relationships, it’s just that they didn’t care about having a relationship with the people they casually hooked up with.

3

I wan to say that I care but I really don’t. As long as my partner is committed to me and my relationship then that’s what matters to me. I don’t believe sleeping with a bunch of people before decreases anyone’s value or ability to be a good partner, if anything I think it increases it. Experience with different relationships, short, long-term, serious, and not, is awesome, and I welcome it. Lmfao executed for dodging conscription? Where? In the States? Since that’s the position you’re arguing from. Never heard that draft-dodging (which hasn’t happened in 50 years!!!) leads to lawful execution

But you worked that job. You were on guard. You dedicated your time, your services and your attention to ensuring theft didn’t occur. Whether theft occurred or didn’t is beside the point. Because your example supports people who are actively serving and risking themselves for their country. When a person in USA or in countries like it isn’t actively (or in the past) serving their country, they’re not putting themselves at risk. Therefore it would be the same as if you didn’t take the job to begi…
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 03:19 PM
1

I see where you’re coming from but abolition of draft isn’t idealistic and isn’t in any way utopian. It is very much possible and is something we should push towards. A hundred years ago it would’ve been wild to think women could be doctors, or that black people could be viewed equally to white people, but we make strides and changes towards a better world. The limiting and abolishing the draft isn’t as hard or impossible as so many things we have already accomplished.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 03:06 PM
3

Ok and what would you consider to be sufficient compensation? Should it be the same as for men and women who actually did something for your country and are veterans or in active service? Lol what. OP is just being lazy and doesn’t want to do shit but get benefits. If the goal was equality then he’d be preaching abolition of the draft in its entirety, not for men who do nothing to get benefits
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 02:38 PM

Because they proposed lol
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 02:35 PM
3

If we’re to start changing a system why not change it towards abolition? Why make women sign up in the meanwhile if the “meanwhile” can be spent working on abolishing the draft entirely? I understand where you’re coming from and the anxiety but you also have to understand that you can’t have military benefits if you haven’t served; simple as that. I’m originally half Russian half Ukrainian and I have to think about war all the time, long before the news became global, we were always worried and …
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 02:34 PM
4

Wdym no? They do. At the very least people get paid for their service. OP seems to want to get that without doing anything at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 02:15 PM
5

Yeah but you see my point, right? People don’t get benefits for something that they haven’t done or doesn’t affect them. You don’t get to have retirement and all the bonuses that come with if you never worked a day in your life. Same with military. As I told OP, he’s just lazy. If he was all for equality he’d be advocating abolishing conscription in all entirety, not for men who aren’t in service to be given unearned benefits.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 02:01 PM
1

Did you unironically quote Andrew Tate?💀
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 01:59 PM
5

Is Finland at war? Are you a citizen of Finland and feel scared? I don’t understand why you’re arguing for benefits when you’re not under draft yourself, when you should be arguing for full abolishing of conscription instead (if you were all for equality).
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 01:58 PM
29

Dude. Your argument makes zero sense you must know that. If you never worked a day in your life you don’t get to have paid retirement and all the benefits that come from that. If you never served you also don’t get to have any of the benefits that people who serve get. Simple as that. If you wanna be lazy and get stuff just because then say so, but don’t try to make this about gender
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 10:35 AM
1

No that’s not why it shouldn’t be legalised. It’s not about taxes, it’s about the stigma. If something is legal then business and women involved in them would have to put their name out there publicly. If a woman quits being a sex worker, very few jobs would look favourably on her past, and until being labelled as a sex worker becomes totally fine and brings no detriment to the people that frequent sex workers and the sex workers themselves then it should simply be decriminalised.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 10:33 AM
7

Benefits for active military personnel and veterans should be improved, agreed. But for men who do fuck all? They should get nothing obviously.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 07:27 AM

Sweden, Norway, Bolivia exist. Some countries have equal drafts. Hell, even North Korea is a thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 07:24 AM
12

Bro Ukrainian and Russian men have always had conscription, something people in US didn’t have to worry about for generations. Ukraine and Russia are also deeply sexist societies. If you want equality you should advocate for abolishing the draft all together, not giving benefits for people that have never and will probably never serve.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 07:17 AM
8

Countries with male only conscriptions still give men who serve out their term benefits.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 07:13 AM
7

It makes zero logical sense, and it’s scary OP doesn’t see it that way
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 07:11 AM
2

Yeah but Ukraine is also a sexist country so
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 07:10 AM
16

Do u even know how sexist of a country Ukraine is? Ofc women get to leave and men have to stay. That country is not progressive at all, like most of East Europe the gender roles there are insanely unfair, and women do get unequal pay and less rights there. It’s all totally wrong and I’m against the draft btw. But to expect the same benefits as a civilian when there are people actually serving is pretty gross and entitled.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 07:05 AM
18

Fr what is OP’s argument lol. By that logic I am entitled to sick leave when I’m not sick because potentially I could be sick, etc etc
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 06:57 AM
41

Bro who’s forcing you to go to war lol? People who enlist in the army DO get benefits what isn’t obvious to you? The draft in general should be abolished for both men and women. Countries that have conscription right now that’s for men only aren’t usually very equal to begin with (like Ukraine), and conscription IS a controversial topic because most people believe it should be abolished entirely.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 06:54 AM
4

No? Anyone who enlists gets equal benefits
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 06:50 AM

Honestly this should end the /thread. You addressed everything OP claimed.

I mean no? I had a pretty good relationship with a guy who by all means was great. The only reason we split up is because he was all in too fast at 27, and I felt like I didn’t want to settle down. I don’t have issues getting boyfriends; if anything I’m the one who wants to be single because I travel all the time and love my freedom. I went to Stanford and I come from a really good family. My looks aren’t everything that’s good about me so wherever you think my head is at, think again.

Thank you I will :) I’m not saying men care about women’s money as much as women care about men’s. But they sure do care about our family background, education, and our economic background as well. Not always but many do. I’m not saying 6 figure salary isn’t rare I’m just saying it’s not this golden standard that makes women fold any more. Women who care about money (most don’t really), aim for higher these days, and a 6ft height isn’t anything special either. Women are just as happy with a guy …

Dude the study you linked literally says “both men and women are more likely to cheat on their spouses the more economically dependent they are on them, according to a new study”. The study further goes on to say that whichever spouse makes the LEAST income, and feels DEPENDENT on the other spouse is the one more likely to cheat. Aka men who make less in the relationship are more likely to cheat than those that make more, and the same goes for women. It says that when men make 70% of income they…

It’s only immature if you expect people to read your mind on a position about something. If you care about something you should ask people about to directly, and not say women are lying by omission when they don’t bring something up that isn’t important to them to begin with.

I mean if the iconic 6ft, 6 figure, hot guy is looking for a girl below his league, yeah, he’s deciding on when to move to a relationship. But when a woman is on his level then she’s still the one who often gets to choose. I think there’s a lot of nuance there since most relationships aren’t black and white in their power dynamics. With my ex, who was all of those standards and more, I put off a relationship. I’m sure he put off a relationship with others. To be fair, to me a 6ft, 6 figure attra…

Lmao I love how you went from a girl having some fun to guaranteed mediocrity and being a single mother. Lol. Who said I want to settle down when my looks start to fade? And why would I ever settle down for someone mediocre? When I end up marrying someone, even if we fall apart, which I doubt, I won’t be a single mom, my husband, or ex-husband will be there helping me with our kids and at worst we’d be amicable/friendly still.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 04:22 AM

Poor woman, why did you marry her to begin with? Unless her hoe phase happened to be during your marriage
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 04:19 AM

Bro most women wouldn’t be prostitutes for a few simple reasons that have nothing to do with ultimately being attractive enough for a man. One simple reason being most people want to have sex with people they’re attracted to, and are into, and men who pay for sex are usually anything but attractive. Even if you’re obsessed with sex, most women still have standards and are able to enforce them. I’m not obsessed with it at all personally so I don’t actually care about casual sex all that much 🤷🏼‍♀…

I mean I’ve been on this sub Reddit for years because as I said I like to debate people for fun, and no one in my life knows I’m on it thankfully. I’m a huge nerd in some ways because I in fact wasn’t hot growing up. But I also have an awesome social life, and do the coolest shit outside of my reddit account with people that actually matter to me. I disagree on that men decide who has a relationship. Men can’t even get through the door in order to establish a relationship most of the time so the most initial choice, when women pick who they’re attracted to/into matters the most.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/22 04:04 AM

Then we agree 100%. I don’t think men in general even beg for women lol, as I said it’s just an expression meaning that they’re less picky overall.

I mean if you’re having a kid with someone you better trust and love that person with your whole heart, otherwise it’s on you. I’m not saying women are faultless and can’t cheat but I don’t understand where your line of logic falls within the realm of my argument. I didn’t claim women should be dishonest ever.

Girl I’m so happy for you! I actually totally agree with you. My mom only just met my dad when she was 35, so I’m in no rush. I think we women have the most fun when we’re set in our careers, know ourselves, and what we want, and this usually doesn’t happen until our 30s. Your situation is EXACTLY the place I’d want to be in one day.

I mean ofc, hundreds of men is an obvious hyperbole. I wouldn’t want that many either or anywhere close to that. It has nothing to do with men as you said. It’s for you to decide whether you want to do these things or not. My larger point wasn’t about what we can and can’t do, it was about people on here often saying that ANY kind of sexual activity makes women undesirable or makes it hard for them to date, which isn’t true. Ofc we all like to believe we make good decisions. I just don’t think h…

I mean no? We’re all mainly models in our friend group. Some guys from my college went into finance, and are doing well for themselves. Mainly, we’re just lucky enough that our parents set us up well. I don’t know any guys in IT. Statistically, very hot people are rare. As I said, you may think a girl is cute but “hot” people are not a dime a dozen. Again, I can’t really argue for anything other than my experience. I actually don’t think so. I think it depends on what you consider to be “hot” for women, and what you consider to be “successful” for men. In my social circle, almost everyone is pretty successful so in my anecdotal sample size hot girls are the rare commodity.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 11:34 PM

Exactly. Obviously “hundreds” is a hyperbole I used just to try and get my point across. We’re in a society where we’re largely removed from a lot of consequences of our actions, for better or worse
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 11:32 PM

Oh I agree. Women should totally contribute, whether it be through their education, jobs etc. women aren’t just the sum of their looks just like how men aren’t just the sum of their jobs

I mean sure some are. I don’t think there is any data that proves that unfaithfulness increases with income. I know a bunch of rich people who are faithful in their marriage, and a bunch that cheat too. Same with middle and lower class couples. Didn’t really notice a disparity tbh.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 11:26 PM
1

How is it invalid? It’s applicable for a lot of cases. Super hot and rich people totally do set the standards, both men and women. I never said an average girl with average everything can land a 10/10 guy lol so I don’t see your point.

Lmao is sleeping with many people = be a horrible person now? I also never claimed women should be dishonest, if anything I encourage honesty because it helps normalise people living their lives an others not giving a fk about how they live them.

I’m a little confused as to what your point is. I never said anything about attracting “shallow red pill men”. I didn’t even say anything about attracting men as the goal at all. My whole point is that women, like men, should be able to have safe fun, and not be judged for it. Men should deal with the fact that most women will be able to enjoy their life and then marry someone pretty great, and the idea that just because they enjoyed some crazy times in their youth makes them somehow doomed to b…

Didn’t say it was okay. Just said people here think sleeping around is inherently wrong, and somehow lessen’s someone’s value. I say that’s not the truth. People should have fun, and settle down when they want to as long as they’re committed and good partners afterwards. I don’t encourage lying I’m just saying that people can, and do get away with it. Men don’t have magic lying detection skills when it comes to finding out how many men women have slept with, and it shouldn’t really matter, so th…

I think the whole idea of women (why not men?) losing their ability to “pair bond” by sleeping with more people is pseudo science derived off some correlations rather than causations of what actually happens when people sleep around

Very true, I actually think this is a better take than mine

None of the advice on this sub is scalable to all men and women. That’s a fact. Most of these cmv posts are in absolutes to elicit a discussion and a reaction. If these posts accounted for all situation there would be nothing to discuss.

Lmao right of all women to choose from
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 11:10 PM
1

That’s exactly what I mean. Most women will probably have a deep connection with the guy by the time he learns all about her past if ever. So yeah it won’t and doesn’t stop most people. Very few people actually dump another after learning about their sexual past unless there’s something like mentions of cheating or something really extreme there
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 11:09 PM
1

How come?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 11:08 PM

It’s an idiom that explains a simple fact: women have a much easier time getting guys not the other way around. If you disagree with this simple premise then there’s nothing to discuss
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 11:07 PM
2

The men who won’t want me are the men I probably wouldn’t want myself. I have never been asked my sexual history but I’m not hiding it either. Despite what my post may suggest I’m not actually very promiscuous I’m just saying that I CAN BE, and it won’t really restrict my choices down the line to the extent that men here like to claim.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 11:05 PM
1

Oh I don’t doubt it. I hope to find someone before I’m 30/35. Edit: But imho people’s dating options don’t actually fall off that badly, so there should never be a rush to find someone.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 11:04 PM
2

I actually completely agree with you. People marry each other because they fall in love and both want commitment. My point was more about having fun prior to settling down. People here act like sleeping around causes people to be some un-marriable outcasts when it’s totally not the case.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 11:03 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 10:59 PM

Yes they really can settle down with a good guy because most men and women end up being married anyway, and most men and women aren’t sexual saints.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 10:56 PM
1

Higher rates of suicide in men isn’t because they’re ugly? Most women aren’t ugly. It’s a very small percent that’s truly unattractive, and their suicide rate wouldn’t really effect statistics significantly enough. I feel like you tried to do something here to disprove my point but you really didn’t
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 10:55 PM
1

It’s not irresponsible or naive. We can all come to regret practically any decision. The best thing we can do is make conscious choices, and as I said, operate ‘safely’ in a way that most people don’t actually come to regret their choices. Women don’t regret having fun, they only regret it if it was somehow traumatic or they put fun above other stuff, which I’m saying most don’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 10:53 PM
0

I mean I don’t lie. I have no need to. Every man I’m into is pretty high n count as I like the extremely outgoing types. I’m saying this in general, it’s not applicable to my life. I would want to get married in like 10 years and have kids but right now my priorities are different
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 10:50 PM
1

This isn’t a gotcha lol
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 10:48 PM

I didn’t say it was okay. I said that people can hide it, and there are no consequences to this lying, unlike what people here often like to say. Also, omitting one’s n count isn’t the same as lying about your intentions like promising marriage? That takes a lot more deception and dedication imho
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 10:48 PM
3

Then I’d just tell him the truth. I don’t actually have anything to hide. I would be put off though, most men I like have no trouble getting girls so I assume they’re experienced. I’m just saying people CAN hide it.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 05:36 PM
2

I mean escorts aren’t 1k a night, probably close to 5-10, but yeah fair enough. I guess to most men 100k is an investment whereas a singular night where you know you paid for it and she wouldn’t want you otherwise is less worth it
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 05:32 PM
2

I mean yeah that’s applicable to everyone. People don’t want people with STDs
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 05:30 PM
7

I mean why would I regret sleeping with someone if I had fun, it was done safely, and I didn’t miss anything important at the end of the day. I don’t choose sex over my education or career etc, so it’s hard to regret that
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 05:29 PM
5

I mean most people don’t even discuss n counts in general so it’s not lying

/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 04:58 PM

Most of us don’t. I don’t want to either, I’m just saying we could, and the consequences so many men on this sub speak of would be inapplicable in the majority of cases

Idk dude did u hear about this girl who got murdered by the modesty police in Iran the other day? Feels like feminism is very much needed. Even in the western world not everything is America. Places like Croatia and Greece can be quite sexist.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 01:46 PM
3

YES EXACTLY THAT GUY OMG😭 I made an equally ridiculous post just now to low-key to mock him lol
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 01:43 PM
7

Agreed. I’m just saying that they could lie and there would be no way of knowing so the whole idea of men thinking that high n count women don’t get wifed up is wrong. Most people get married after all. Not saying they SHOULD lie at all but they could. Honesty is always best and I’m not encouraging otherwise.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 01:43 PM
1

Exactly, the only thing men can do is just become more desirable themselves so that many women will chase them
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 01:38 PM

Lmfao no, feminism at its core is about equality. Link me what respectable publication, scientific or not, identifies feminism as an ideology of hatred and supremacism. I’ll wait.

1

Yessss
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 01:18 PM
2

No I totally get that, I just feel like so many people post the most ridiculous takes but then say they’re married that it feels almost untrue. It’s hard to believe someone is married to a woman or a man and then has extreme views on either gender. If it’s just for educational and entertainment purposes then that makes sense :)
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/22 01:16 PM
5

True but most people also like having sex. It’s fine to have sex sometimes as long as it’s healthy. OP was saying that all women who aren’t virgins are gross and I fully disagree with him on that
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/22 10:33 PM

Revulsion is a strong word. Preferring a tall guy over a short guy doesn’t mean I won’t date a short guy let alone be revulsed by him

Bro how often do you hear women actually complain about being passed over for serious relationships due to having slept around outside of this forum? I’ve never heard of that happening or being a regular occurance
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/22 09:57 PM
-7

Both things can be true. We do it for our confidence first, and the consequential increase in our attractiveness obviously is a very welcome bonus. When you look better, you feel better. We look good for ourselves, and for others too, especially in situations where our appearance matters more (aka dates).
/r/PurplePillDebate15/09/22 08:03 AM
2

I acknowledge it but because it’s an issue of both genders there was no reason to make a post separating the two and focusing solely on women. It’s redundant.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/22 02:38 PM
4

Stop using terrible analogies for every single explanation lol especially when I explained why your first analogy was poor. Again, emotional cheating is bad! Emotional cheating exists! However, the vast majority of men and women don’t cheat emotionally MOST ESPECIALLY not because of casual sex that they miss, rather it’s a sign of a broken relationship and so many other things at play. Instead of preaching your gospel to Reddit you should talk to your friends and help where you actually can.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/22 02:37 PM
2

Why do you choose to always blame women lol we just both agreed that both men and women fall prey to sex addiction, and men disproportionately so
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/22 02:25 PM
3

“Your experience doesn’t matter” mate, then yours doesn’t either. I said that our experiences are both valid. Two things can be true, nuance exists, and if you can’t acknowledge that then I’m afraid you’re not particularly bright. Your drunk driving analogy is poor because my anecdote wasn’t saying that emotional cheating is fine because it doesn’t exist, I was implying that your assertion that it’s common and that most friends look the other way (as was your example) is wrong.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/22 02:24 PM
2

No, your analogy isn’t applicable. Sex IS the cause of most sex-related issues but casual sex is not. People have a variety of issues connected to sex, hell, even the act of sex doesn’t need to occur for people to be weird about it. Take kids who grew up extremely religiously conservative, half of them feel ashamed of basic human desires and biology. Casual sex and overindulgence definitely have their downsides. As I said, most particularly when people actually have sex addiction it has a bunch …
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/22 02:18 PM
3

And that’s your anecdotal experience. My anecdotal experience is vastly different to yours. They’re both valid, and if anything, it means you should get better female friends because cheating isn’t okay, and shouldn’t be condoned. “And then settling down with men they know won’t please them” - then those men and women shouldn’t settle down with each other. Sexual compatibility and satisfaction is a very important part of most relationships, and is something that should be established prior to ma…

I think you’re trying to simplify a much more complex issue by thinking that so many things like family unit destruction, stds, single parents, mental health issues, sexual trauma, basically most addictions and unhealthy attachments are ALL because of people having more sex? Come on now, you must know that’s silly. The world changed over the past 100 years in so many ways because of economics, scientific progress, wars, various people getting rights, monarchies falling, and new countries forming…
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/22 02:09 PM

I mean it’s hard to really argue with your post because it speaks in absolutes. Ofc most people don’t need to try everything to have a fulfilling sex life, but some do and want to, and that’s okay.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/22 01:57 PM
4

Man, we’re not in the 50s though. The lines the research uses? What research spells out 5 partners as being much higher than usual? Almost everywhere the number of average partners is 4-8. I agree the culture is definitely much more open to casual sex. But I don’t see that as an issue because abundance of sex OR making it taboo both have their downsides. The best we can do is provide people with education and the right tools to ensure safe sex, as well as promote mental health. Yes, some 10-15% …
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/22 01:53 PM

Dude most sex addicts are men so maybe we should start there
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/22 01:37 PM

Women having more sex isn’t ruining the world my dude😭 We have so many other more prudent things to worry about, the amount of female species’ sexual partners is wayyyy down on any sane person’s list
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/22 01:34 PM
4

Arbitrary because it’s random, why 5? Why not 10? Or 3? Or 25? It’s a baseless argument on your end. It is made worse when according to most sources the average number of sexual partners is around 5-10 for people, and average by definition doesn’t mean excessive which is what you were implying by throwing the word “whore” around. Get a grip.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/22 01:32 PM
4

Why do u even care? And what can you know about dating today since you’re allegedly married as you mentioned in another comment?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/22 01:29 PM
4

Lmao if this is how you really think then nothing you say has merit to most people because this is a bit ridiculous. The majority of women aren’t whores just because of an arbitrary number you came up with.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/22 09:45 AM
1

Well we’re all ultimately free to do whatever we want. No one can stop you from doing anything, but you will have consequences to deal with. Laws are fine, because they keep us safe, and as long as said laws don’t infringe upon basic human rights then I wouldn’t say they really restrict one’s freedoms per se. Total anarchy wouldn’t really benefit 99% of the people, men or women alike
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/22 01:27 AM

Elaborate
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/22 01:23 AM

I fundamentally disagree since it seems your ideas of livery and safety completely diverge from mine. I don’t feel more free being able to carry a gun without background checks nor do I feel free being able to spew hate but I guess to each their own
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/22 01:22 AM
1

I mean I’m against guns and don’t consider them a freedom at all. And I don’t consider hate speech to fall within free speech. I live in a certain country in Europe where we have neither of those things, and feel very free.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/09/22 04:44 PM
2

People voting away perceived freedoms for the sake of perceived safety makes sense. However, the difference is - as long as we are all restricted to the same laws and freedoms, and those don’t differ between sexes or races then that is fine. No person is happier to be less free than someone else even if that comes with perceived sense of safety and stability. I can’t quite think of what freedoms we’re all voting away? Perhaps our perception of freedom is different. Having guns isn’t a freedom to…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/09/22 03:24 PM
2

Ok well then yes that is what I mean. But those guidelines will apply to all. Back in the day, women and men operated by different guidelines and laws and that’s what I consider to be an infringement upon freedom and unfairness. We should all be able to operate with equal restrictions and freedoms available to us. No human being would voluntarily choose to limit their freedoms.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/09/22 03:16 PM
1

Freedom within moral and ethical boundaries aka freedoms of human rights. Ofc we should have laws and guidelines but those shouldn’t infringe on human rights. My point of freedom being important, was specifically in reference to the previous’ comments assertion that freedom is more important than safety, and that lack of freedom guarantees safety and vice versa.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/09/22 12:50 PM

No lol you’re the one who made an assertion that goes along the common consensus that freedom and human rights are invaluable and of utter priority. So the burden of proof is on you, not me. Further, I highly doubt any of my family members would trade MY freedom for THEIR safety (also what kind of trade off is this? How does my freedom impact their safety?), and I would never trade their freedom for my safety either. If your assertion is that lack of freedom = safety, then I believe it to be wro…

/r/PurplePillDebate10/09/22 10:11 AM

It’s not about n count or someone being a virgin or not. It’s not about that at all. Some people will just never cheat because they respect their relationships and their partners. People would cheat no matter what, whether they missed out or had their fill. Some people are unable to commit, and some are simply disrespectful. Either way, cheaters cheat, faithful people stay faithful but imho it’s very rare that a cheater changes.

Unbelievable. I literally outlined how questioning, and thinking that people are red flags aka negative traits (when their behaviour is highly unusual) isn’t necessarily out of the ordinary nor is it fundamentally bad. I then said shaming and strongly judging these people is, however bad. There’s a difference between shaming and thinking someone has a negative quality to them (that doesn’t define them or make them less-than). That was the nuance you kept missing.

Bruh. I explained that I picked 25 because that’s the age by when the vast majority aren’t virgins. The bigger the number, the more questions people are gonna ask. Its not that hard to understand. Its not okay to be mean to someone but its okay to ask questions about someone’s behaviour, and assumptions, although mostly not ok, are being and will be made. Being judgemental of someone not fucking is in no way better than someone being judgemental of fucking too much. In general, and in an ideal w…

What u/FightMeCthullu was saying is that people change. And quite drastically at that in the earlier stages of their lives. Everything from their attitudes, beliefs, social circle, careers, self-expression etc. is changing and developing rapidly. The original comment was actually about being a 35 year old virgin, however I picked 25+ as an example of where I would start to be curious because if we go by statistics less than 5% of people, 25 and older, are virgins (although globally that number is higher for cultural and other reasons). That’s it. It was just picked because that’s the number people tend to use in statistic, its a number we have more data on. That’s cool, be you! I’m curious, is it for religious purposes like no sex before marriage etc. or something else? I have never come across someone like yourself before so I’m genuinely interested to know. It’s okay if you don’t want to answer, no pressure.

Im sorry but can you read or are you straw manning an argument out of things you put in my mouth, and that I didn’t argue for? Firstly, words virgin and slut are not equivalent. A virgin is a person, man or woman, who simply hasn’t had sex yet. We all self-describe as such until we have sex. It is a socially accepted term that has only recently and in few circumstances began being used as an insult (very specially to refer to men who are inexperienced socially or sexually or simply unable to act…

I think there are different judgements - some are okay to make, and some aren’t; there can be positive and negative judgements made too. “If you live in a community where slurs are atypical, it is fine to judge a slut for being a slut” <- this comment already makes a non-hypothetical judgement that a slut is something bad because you use it as an insult. The situation I described was more nuanced, I wasn’t saying all virgins are red flags and have something wrong with them, and I wasn’t saying i…

We are all allowed to judge people. However, some judgements are irrational, while others have a place to be. Wondering why someone might be a virgin at 35 isn’t at all weird, and not even intrinsically judgemental because it IS very atypical. Thinking there might be something different about said person, or they have values entirely misaligned to your own/the majority of the population is a rational conclusion to come to, and thus the judgement, though perhaps not ideal, is much more acceptable…

Bro that post is like the most isolated anecdotal evidence ever with most comments pointing that out. I had a bunch of friends who didn’t lose their virginity, including myself, into our 20s. One of my friends is still a virgin and she’s 22. Yet no one judged anyone or dragged anyone down. Everyone was like “take your time”. So chill, this one instance of people being shitty isn’t applicable. That said, there’s a difference between a girl being a virgin at 22 and at 35. I mean at 22 reasons like…

I mean in most of the world, including where I spend most of my time, male privilege is totally a real thing so idk what you mean. Yeah ofc it’s damaging, most negative jokes are damaging - I’m not saying it’s ok, but the extent of outrage is unjustified. It’s not quite as damaging as you might think primarily because the context for a joke matters. Whether something is ironic matters. The “I hate women” are statements that aren’t jokes and aren’t said ironically so they’re worse, while the exam…

You said it: knowledge is power! So men, why deny yourself this knowledge? Emotional intelligence is a great thing to develop, that’s the point of my post. That’s what the books help build (apart from one’s lexicon). Ww1 & ww2 sure weren’t made more deadly because of people’s abundance in empathy and emotional intelligence. The knowledge you mention isn’t going to be learned by the books I presented, nor by any literary works, really. The opportunity/cost is hugely advantageous, are you serious?…

When women say “I hate men” they’re mostly joking, and pretty much everyone accepts that. If it’s said in a serious context/tone then it most certainly gets called out. When men say “women ☕️” its also taken as ironic, and no one gets mad, even though the comment is patronising. “I hate women” isn’t in the popular vernacular and isn’t heard ironically so ofc people get mad at it because it’s almost always said with intent.

Lmfao what bullshit is this. U can’t “feel” a hymen dude what the fuck kind of r/badwomensanatomy is this? I was a virgin until 20 and literally all the shit you’re saying is inapplicable. More time before penetration/foreplay? No, not true, it’s different each time. I didn’t need more the first time. Do we bleed? Sometimes, yes sometimes no. Women can also bleed if they’re not aroused enough, and that can happen way past virginity loss. Again, you can feel the hymen. It’s not a full-covering me…

Idk I really like super pretty boys who look like commercial models. The vast majority doesn’t have abs, boyish good looks, and the charisma I like. I feel like you’re just describing common sense and not the Red Pill. Like, duh hot, rich, tall men are gonna do better. That’s literally what I said - a lot of objective factors CAN be categorised, but as you’ve acknowledged, it can’t predict individual attraction/behaviour, yet that’s what ultimately matters since men don’t approach a sample size but a specific woman.

Because each book allows a different perspective on what it’s like to be a woman or a man. The fictional stories follow lives of men and women in a way that allows the reader to be introspective, considerate, and perhaps learn something new. Further, all of the works are of high quality and critically acclaimed, with many being true classics, so the reader is in no way wasting his/her time, and should probably be reading these books anyway whether it’s to understand the opposite gender or not. Because understanding women helps humanise them for men that need it, and for men that don’t, it’s still an incredibly important knowledge and an empathic connection most people should have toward each other. You lose nothing by learning more. It’s not manipulation to be more informed. If you choose to manipulate in bad faith after acquiring knowledge that’s on you, but more knowledge isn’t intrinsically bad, if anything it’s a positive.

I argue that both people need to understand each other, in fact I provide examples of how we all can do it better. This post was aimed more towards men because that’s the majority of this sub, and because I am a woman so it is easier for me to speak on behalf of women.

I mean most people ARE coupled up and most people aren’t super good looking. Just because both people find each other attractive doesn’t mean they’re actually good looking. Not that many people get passed off because of their looks as you’d think.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/22 04:13 AM

Fair enough. I think these days our ideas of what appreciation and what we should be appreciated for is very skewed, for both men and women. Because there’s no orient, people are lost and are forced to find out their own values and standards for themselves. And very few people are able to do things on their own without being told what to do and believe.

I think it’s totally worth checking out because of how different of a perspective it provides. However, I hope it’s not too sobering because it’s not necessarily the beacon of truth or reality of how women and men really are. That’s fair enough! I don’t have the best understanding of TRP then, as it itself doesn’t seem to have clear guidelines or self-definitions. My point is about aiming for intellectual diversity as a way to reach empathy and more productive discussion/ and well being as men/women still stands.

I don’t think this post is part of the problem, if anything it should encourage us all to seek to empathise and understand each other. I agree that there should be more attention and care placed on to men’s mental health and struggles. But that being true doesn’t exclude my other points. They both have a place to be. I have mentioned reading books about men’s issues in this thread.

I’m partly discrediting the information not because it “goes against my imperative” but because Esther Villar isn’t God, and so her book is one of many glimpses into what a woman’s existence and relationships can manifest as. This doesn’t make it necessarily invalid, rather, as I’m saying, it’s quite an old and sensationalised work. For sure informational echo-chambers are one of the most toxic and dangerous things out there. Which is precisely what my post attempts to counter - point people that are in echo-chambers such as TRP to look outside of it at something educational yet very rarely if ever recommended on those platforms.

I think my general view was seeing TRP not as a sexual strategy but as how men here seem to paint it, almost akin to trying to see reality for what is. I’m not saying that’s what TRP actually is (in fact, you’re right), just how it’s presented. My most important point though is simple - to encourage tolerance and empathy among both genders, but most especially among men towards women, through literature.

However, these hyperbolies and lack of nuance you mentioned are it’s major downfalls. The crux of the issue is as much as you might want to reduce people to numbers, statistics, and caricatures the human condition is too complicated and too individual to simplify. I too, have had a very positive relationship that ended very amicably, and all of my in-person interactions have b…

My post obviously goes both ways. However, women do read literature by men for men much more than men read literature written by women. You can fix that by picking up a book today :) Also, Please be mindful I listed LITERARY works, not women’s rights works. So what you’ve edited into your comment isn’t an equivalent.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 11:57 PM

They’re not related most of the time. Trauma comes from so many places starting from childhood. Both men and women are affected by trauma, so what you should be looking for instead is a mentally healthy person, rather than a “virgin”. Further, being a virgin after a certain age IS actually a sign of divergence and irregularity which, unless for religious reasons, can point to issues.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 11:49 PM
5

Idk where you pulled that number out of
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 11:48 PM
14

No, your point is entirely different - you are saying u want virgins because they don’t have emotional baggage. Baggage and virginity are unrelated.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 11:39 PM
18

I hate to break it to you but the tightness of a vagina doesn’t change with the n count
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 11:37 PM
19

Exactly lol this guy is conflating two different things
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 11:36 PM
1

“I am 0 insecure, how am I insecure if I can date virgins.” Because you base your security on your ability to date virgins maybe lol?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 11:31 PM
1

Because it’s hypocritical and points to your emotional insecurity
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 11:18 PM

I think men in this sub would greatly benefit from reading some literature and more contemporary novels written by women about women. Some I can recommend: 1) Near to the Wild Heart By Clarice Lispector (and also The Complete Stories by the same author) 2) The Awakening by Kate Chopin 3) The Women I Think about at Night by Mia Kankimäki 4) The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy 5) A Thousand Ships by Natalie Haynes
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 11:17 PM
1

If you’re not a virgin yourself then this is a red flag
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 11:02 PM
2

But that’s just absolutely not true. I guess if we’re being super specific it will have to depend on what each one of them desires, and whether their standards are realistic. If a below average man in his 30s just wants to fuck anyone, including older, less-good looking women then yeah he can probably do that but I don’t think that’s what you meant by “desire”. Also six figures isn’t a big number these days, it doesn’t really open big doors in dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 10:58 PM
1

Sure it’s on the decline but 2/3 of the population are still coupled up so
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 10:54 PM
1

There’s a difference between having standards and wanting a “Chad”. Are there women with standards that are unjustified? Sure, but there are more that are normal people with normal wants and needs. Most people get with each other at some point. More than a half of people between 25-50 are in relationships, and most of them are average men and average women coming together. So yeah it’s a cope to think that after you’re 30 as a guy things will get magically much easier. They don’t. Especially for…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 10:45 PM
2

Bro ain’t no way a guy over 30 who’s overweight is considered a “Chad” what planet are you living on😂
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 10:33 PM
3

An overweight woman for sure. Most women in their 30s are overweight and most women in their 30s STILL have and continue to be more desirable than men on average, especially overweight men in their 30s. The truth is it will ALWAYS be easier for a woman than a man. Unless there’s money involved.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 10:11 PM
2

And that’s in the 1% I mentioned. But I feel like sugar daddies in general are a very specific thing/relationship, and not something most older men would be proud of here.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 10:09 PM
5

Bro college girls don’t want old guys in 99% of the cases
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 10:05 PM
2

Honestly idk about the other girl who made the initial comment but sometimes older guys just pay for you when you don’t even ask for it or when you don’t offer anything in return. They offer to buy you drinks etc, at clubs they get tables/invite you to them. Doesn’t lead anywhere though
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 10:05 PM
1

Good cope
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 10:03 PM
1

I’m 22. I wouldn’t date anyone over 30.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 10:02 PM
1

No
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 10:00 PM
11

If he’s not a virgin then it’s a red flag but if he’s also a virgin then it’s fine imho
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 05:53 PM
2

Bro overweight men aren’t desirable unless they’re properly rich, and even then it’s not like they magically become super hot in the girl’s eyes.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 03:15 PM
2

Average men are overweight too so it doesn’t change anything lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 02:45 PM
2

Babe I’m not crying lol I’m young and hot and have every advantage out there. However, to say that women stop being attractive is delusional. They’re still more desirable than men, they’re just not as desirable at 45 than they are at 25, but this goes for basically everyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 06:50 AM
2

Get therapy dude
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 06:24 AM
2

Ew that’s a gross way to refer to women. I doubt any mentally and emotionally stable under 26 year old woman would want a LTR with a man who’s 40. There are probably deep daddy issues at play.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 06:22 AM
11

Dude come on most women, especially young women, don’t find that 35 year old men are the most attractive. It’s just not true. I’d say they peak at like 27/28. That’s when their prime is.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 06:19 AM
0

Bro the club thing is sooo untrue. If a guy is not hot, whether he’s buying tables or not means absolutely nothing. If anything, what’s going to happen is girls will sit at his table, drink his booze, and then leave.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 06:10 AM
5

Not really. Depends on how they take care of themselves. In their mid 40s onwards it definitely becomes much harder though; still, always easier than for men the same age
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 05:57 AM
2

But older women are selling too. Maybe not at the same rate, but still better than older men that’s for sure
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/22 05:54 AM
1

I’m not disagreeing with you but what group of women really respects drug dealers? 😂😭 wtf
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/22 01:42 AM
1

Bro what would you do with a straight out of high school child? 20-22 I get but 18?😭
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/22 03:26 PM
1

Who would you date?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/22 03:06 PM
1

A 26 or a 27 year old woman is young too tho
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/22 08:54 PM
2

Again dude I’m not in America. Yeah she’s overweight obviously but she’s not “very” fat. That was my whole argument. She’s like 20 over normal weight. Also you can workout and eat like shit. I don’t work out but don’t eat too much so I’m skinny.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/22 06:25 PM
-1

That’s because her dress is too tight. I’m skinny and even I sometimes get a similar effect when I wear a dress that’s too small for me. Again, she’s in no way small but not “very fat”.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/22 03:47 PM
2

Oh please I live in Europe too and she’s chubby but not “really fat”. What the fuck dude.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/22 01:31 PM
2

Ok then yes we do agree. As I said, the way you phrased it originally seemed to imply that it’s up one person to work and solve it, not the pair.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 09:50 PM
1

It’s on both partners to uncover that, and work on the issue together and find the resolution together. Yes, only one partner can answer what bothers him/her but that can take time, so both parties need to be patient. It’s not selfish to work on it and take your time to restore a relationship. No one is owed sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 08:17 PM
4

But why date someone half your age? I personally wouldn’t want to date a man twice my age, I feel like we won’t have anything to talk about.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 08:14 PM
1

I mean bro could just not marry but continue to date the same girl, or even just sign a prenup
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 08:13 PM
0

No, the way you portrayed it seemed to have placed the blame on the partner who doesn’t want to engage in sex. You have never mentioned both parties working to resolve the issue. But working to resolve the issue doesn’t mean having more sex, it might mean going to couple’s therapy etc. There’s nothing selfish in wanting to restore sex to the bedroom, but no one is owed sex, so it is selfish to think that it’s on one person to uncover the cause.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 08:12 PM
1

Simple. Because neither of the party should be expected to just get over it and please the other. Lack of sex in a relationship is usually due to a bigger underlying issue. Both partners should be patient and open in order to address and resolve that. It’s not just on the less-willing participant to address their lack of sexual drive, it’s on the whole party. That’s why it’s a relationship and a partnership, not a masturbation session with another’s body.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 06:56 PM
1

Lmao that’s unrealistic and unsustainable
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 06:49 PM
1

Well your opinion is selfish
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 06:49 PM
2

I’m the eldest of 3 and it never felt lonely. Different strokes for different folks I guess. How old are you now? You got to find a girl soon if you want to have 6 with breaks in between, that’s like 12 years minimum.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 06:34 PM
2

That’s a lot of kids. Care to explain why you want so many?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 06:23 PM
2

Yeah but from the sidelines all we know that these women did was turn 25. That’s not really failing lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 06:12 PM
1

That’s fucked up
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 06:01 PM
3

Why are you saying sorry lol? I’m younger than 25. Calling women “old hags” when they’re over 25 is rich lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 06:01 PM
3

Ewww
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 02:16 PM
3

Hmm I see where you’re coming from. But damn this was like a 3 year relationship. Must be a bit sociopathic not to get at least a bit attached
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 04:23 AM
5

A little confused as to what you’re trying to say. My original question was asking why 25 and why is he so consistent? The girl at 26 looks the same as at 25 so why?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 04:22 AM
3

No it doesn’t lol. And even if it was, it’s just one woman being prissy. You made it sound like an army of “femcels” complaining and raging lol

I love the memes surrounding this so much
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/22 03:56 AM

I mean it’s just her saying leo was a shit person to her friend. Idk how that paints this woman as a femcel??

The women that were into Ted Bundy were mentally ill. We’re not all like this. There’s a huge difference between a “bad boy with a heart of gold” trope and a girl who genuinely thinks she can change a serial killer.

No one really uses “females” irl. People use “women”.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 05:57 PM
1

I’m glad you haven’t heard of it but it’s a very common thing. Feel free to look it up, I believe even in this sub when the word “female” is used, it’s often corrected by women.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 05:54 PM
2

Dude just understand referring to women as female is offensive. It is what it is. Thx.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 05:50 PM
2

In the manosphere, which is prevalent in a sub like PPD, it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 05:49 PM
2

No. Female is an adjective, or a noun pertaining to animals or plants, not humans. You don’t call women females without intending to be offensive.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 05:30 PM
2

You used the word “females”. I think you meant to say “women”.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 05:06 PM
2

You mean “women” right?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 12:34 PM
1

That’s because dating apps are overwhelmingly men so their standards collectively get lower. Irl tho men are by far the vainest.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 03:02 AM
2

So we agree then
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 02:53 AM
2

Because If I am to look for a boyfriend (not actually interested in dating right now) I would want a man who’s equal to me. Who is intelligent, has a similar background in terms of education/family and similar values. I’m well-educated, have an amazing social circle, and have the means to do whatever the fuck I want, so I want a guy who’s job/occupation/whatever he spends his time doing allows him to have a lot of free time and means to keep up with me. He doesn’t need to buy me anything but he …
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 02:53 AM
1

Lol ok and men don’t have unrealistic beauty standards for women?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 02:44 AM
3

No one actually wants to talk in details about your work. Picking cans on the side of the road IS a weird but fun conversation starter because of how ridiculous it is though, ironically.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 02:42 AM
3

I mean yeah money is important (for me, not for everyone). I come from a well-off background and I’d want my guy to as well, or at least have a similar lifestyle to me. I don’t need him to pay for me, but I need him to be able to keep up. So yeah you’re right. However, this doesn’t negate my points. There’s a niche for everyone, and every woman has different desires/wants.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 02:40 AM
2

That’s a lot of assumptions there, buddy. I never said any of that nor have I insinuated it. I am well educated, so yeah I’d want someone who’s achieved something similar academically. And I don’t need men’s money. Why do men have this weird irrational fear that women are going to use them for money they don’t even have? Lol. You asked me why someone might be interested in knowing about your job. I answered you. If I tell you I’m a doctor or a janitor your perception of those 4 factors I mention…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 02:32 AM
1

Idk tbh some blonde lady I guess?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 02:23 AM
2

Lol no it’s not something anyone wants to talk to after they know about it. But as I said time and time again, it’s still important to know what it is from the start because 1) it reveals their time schedule/flexibility 2) reveals potential education level 3) reveals potential financial level 4) reveals potential character traits
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 02:19 AM
2

Again, the time invested in the job is very important. Otherwise it truly doesn’t matter too much after you two click. As I said previously, it only matters at the start to illicit interest/start a convo, and perhaps further gauge level of education/stability/flexibility etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 02:09 AM
5

How is it not important? A job is often at least a bit of a signifier of lifestyle. For instance, if a guy is a doctor or maybe works in IB, or anywhere that requires crazy hours and big commitment to your job we won’t be compatible. That’s not a guy for me. I want someone with a more loose schedule. See what I mean?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 02:02 AM
1

But what will prompt your initial interest to start a chat?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 02:01 AM
2

Ofc people are multi-layered. I’m just saying that on OLD it’s easy to reveal a couple of palatable layers that will help encapsulate you (ofc not all of you, that’s impossible) in the simplest terms/photos.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 12:49 AM
3

Thank you! People are getting mad at me because it’s shallow and doesn’t satisfy their idea that “be yourself, warts and all” works immediately to attract women. Like, yeah, be yourself but be your best self for the first impression.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/22 12:48 AM

It’s not toxic positivity. This is how I function and genuinely feel, sorry if it offends you I guess? I didn’t say bullshit people. I didn’t say lie. Don’t say you’re a mathematician if you’re a chef. I just said that you should present yourself as extra-ordinary, even if we are anything but.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/22 08:34 PM
3

Lmao everyone on OLD goes through the trouble of constructing the best image of themselves. It’s like a resume almost. It is what it is. I don’t see the point in complaining about it since it doesn’t actually take all that much effort on either the man or woman’s part. Again, I don’t see the point in your comment. We all said that meeting in real life is preferable. For both parties. But OLD is a decent alternative or rather an addition to someone’s dating. Most men who use apps also approach wo…

Yes accountants + mathematicians scream smart and well-educated, if a bit nerdy. There’s a huge chunk of women that find it appealing. Further you can elaborate and make your job seem more exciting. Example: What kind of a mathematician? A professor? An introverted pillar of your community? A teacher? A man full of ingenuity in theoretical maths and in your free time maybe something like an avid hiker/camper? Who knows. People are all multi dimensional and interesting. It’s about presenting your…

/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/22 07:18 PM

Put themselves through what? Making a dating profile? It it’s not for you that’s cool! I’m not saying this is for everyone and no one is making you do anything. However, the original post was asking about what makes a guy stand out on OLD/what makes a profile successful. I have given an answer as to how a lot of women see men’s profiles, and pointed out what can be done to use OLD more effectively as a man. That’s all.

Thank you, glad it helped!
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/22 06:03 PM

Ofc these things aren’t an indicator. But that’s not a problem at all :) because when you finally do meet, hang out, spend time with each other that’s when you’ll see things beyond the surface that WILL indicate whether this is a person one can be in a happy relationship with.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/22 03:00 PM
1

Nah dude when you’re infatuated and loyal to someone you never give into someone else. There is never a point when we just don’t say no to advances. We always keep refuting them. At least loyal people do. It’s true, if i wanted to get laid I could do so today as an attractive young woman. But I’d like to say I respect myself enough that just because I can doesn’t mean I should or will. I never cheated and will never cheat. If I agreed to a monogamous relationship then that’s how it’s gonna stay.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/22 02:58 PM

Lmfao what 😭 There are so many good looking women on dating apps. A lot of my girlfriends met their boyfriends on dating apps and they’re stunning; two of them model.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/22 02:55 PM
1

No you haven’t. You called it lame and undignified and refuse to elaborate and expand on your claim. Quite sad.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/22 01:36 PM
1

How is it lame or undignified? Explain. I mean you can see people how you want to see them but that’s your subjective perception that is not necessarily compatible with objective reality of things. I get plenty of attention irl. Because I know I’m good looking, fun, with an awesome education, and outgoing. Sometimes it’s fun to scroll online too though. I travel a bunch, so it’s not like I can see who’s going to be around a certain city ahead of time, thousands of miles apart. With apps I can!
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/22 12:58 PM
2

Lol dude you don’t need to look for another software engineer to appreciate you and what you do. It’s just what u/Swapsta said. Every single one of us can make our jobs more palatable to those who are in a different field. If you don’t get all technical about your job, then “fintech” sounds cool to most people!

I mean I meet most people irl. Had dating apps for a time when I moved somewhere new. I don’t see an issue lol, what’s shameful about it?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/22 12:50 PM
7

How is the “looks good and sounded like he has a cool job” a horrible first impression? Dating apps are about first impressions. It’s up to both parties to take it off line and then actually get to know each other, and see if it can lead somewhere. Nothing wrong with starting a chat with someone you find good looking who seems to have an interesting existence. If that’s all you’re basing your relationship on, then yeah, it’s a beyond shaky foundation lol. But to start a chat? Yeah, looks/a littl…
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/22 12:47 PM

Ofc you do! But that might also depend on the app and what you’re looking for.

Idk about money, more like a compatible lifestyle/vibe/interests.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/22 12:41 PM
1

That’s totally valid and that’s your experience. You can date who you want to. In my experience, I’ve dated people who used to engage in casual sex and it was pretty successful. When you’re in a relationship, both parties commit to monogamy unless otherwise specified. I never had an issue with loyalty, regardless of my partners’ past experiences. All sex that’s outside of a relationship can be considered casual, so almost everyone has probably engaged in it to some extent. I’m single atm and not…

/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/22 12:02 PM

Exactly. Like dude, you can be a librarian and that will sound cool for a certain girl. As long as you are consistently giving off a specific vibe with your photos, whether it’s an “outgoing adventurer”, “a book lover”, a “posh wine connoisseur” it doesn’t matter no how weird or random, there’s a niche for you. Just make sure there’s consistency, so a girl can click with your profile and can see herself with you, imagine what it would be like to date you. If it’s just selfies or random photos it…

But a lot of people are a mixture. Like, you can be a party person and then change your mindset and want to start dating. If your parents provides you with advice and guidance for multiple situations “for whatever you may choose”, and leave the door open for you to come back for more advice, then it’s even better. Partying and dating aren’t mutually exclusive. Hookups are tho ofc.

A lot of my girl-friends met their boyfriends on the apps. I met guys on an app but it didn’t lead to anything. Here’s what our combined experience looks like: Almost everyone was initially pulled by looks. Something about their profile/ their physicality attracted us. Then their job. If their job is cool, if the vibe they give off is right (everyone in our friend group has a different type, so the “vibe” needed is different for everyone. For me, it’s the free-spirited, constantly traveling/on v…

/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/22 11:31 AM

This may be a bit of a harsh comment, but I’m genuinely curious. You’re a father of a young kid at 58. You’ll be 70 when she’ll be in her early 20s. Does it worry you that you will be old for most of your kids’ life?

Very similar case here! I travel too much to leave time for a sustainable relationship. But I don’t plan to stop traveling, so I figured I’ll get into a relationship when the time is right (whenever that may be). And I’m also going to be picky, and not settle. I think you and I are considered “picky” because we can be. When you’re happy without a relationship and aren’t desperate to be in one, you can afford to wait until the really good one comes along.

Exactly. You have to coordinate with the other person all the time, and while I’m sure when you love someone it’s not a problem, you lose that sense of true spontaneity and being able to make your own immediate choices. Wanna go dancing the whole night? Take a trip out of the city? Drink? Stay in? Whatever you want, it’s your time and schedule.

I really like being single. Honestly, sometimes I think “hey it would be nice to be in a relationship for this and that” but I just love being free, belonging to myself, not having to calm my naturally flirty personality, etc. Idk. I actually truly like being alone. My own company is sufficient. I’m never bored, and if I need to socialise? /r/PurplePillDebate28/08/22 04:49 PM

No it’s not. One causes actual physical pain and can’t really go away even with pain killers sometime for days on end, while another can be taken care of with a 5 minute masturbation session.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/22 04:24 PM
2

Bro it’s not remotely similar. Periods cause physical pain and discomfort. It’s not just an emotional misbalance due to hormones. Some women are in so much pain they can’t even function. This isn’t remotely similar to being horny which you can take care of by masturbating.

It was a poor parallel of you to draw because it’s a false equivalence. Sure, there are physical and biological differences between men and women, but men aren’t beholden to certain ideas or lines of thinking as a group. It’s fine to have preferences. However, the issue and what women are pushing back against is the rationale that men (mostly online) use to justify and explain this preference. In particular, in modern society it’s really hard to logically explain why a man might want a “pure” wo…

I think very few women voice complaints about virgin men? Like that’s not even really a thing. And if a friend of mine said something along those lines I’d definitely contest it or at least ask to explain logic. Again, I think the height thing is silly too. But the whole 6ft and over idea is online-only. Most women are more than happy with guys of any height as long as they’re taller than them. And even then that’s not always the case. If this wasn’t so then like 85% of men would never get with …

/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 07:08 PM

No. Because that’s a fact on average. N count isn’t indicative of mental state or “purity”, whatever that means.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 06:48 PM

Going back to the “you know what you’re eating”. Dude, and most people know who they’re fucking. Even if it’s a new person every month (which is like +12 a year) then you know 1) if you’re wearing protection 2) how you met this person/who they are 3) preferably their sexual history etc. Like it’s not totally random for most people. And if an encounter is random it can be rare, so again n count can differer. So you’re agreeing that sex is natural. However, you seem to view it as something negativ…

Yes because all of these places allowed more freedoms for men than for women and were patriarchal societies. So ofc that’s how it was. There wasn’t a single society where women had more freedoms or rights and weren’t treated like delicate cattle. Like duh? Ofc the burden of purity would be on a woman. But it’s also important to remember men are social creatures and they didn’t all just collectively decide thousands of years ago that virginity in a woman = good and pure. It’s thousands of years o…

Bro it wasn’t even a preference in the past. Virginity meant an entirely different thing then so ofc it was preferred. When you’re a Christian living in the Middle Ages, and you’re taught that sex outside marriage is a sin, and that the Virgin Mary is the epitome of purity (and that women are only meant to be subservient child bearers) then ofc you’re gonna want a virgin. Back then women were property and sex outside of marriage wasn’t even a thing, it wasn’t known that women could even have an …

People go to the gym because being leaner, healthier, makes them ultimately better looking. And a dating forum doesn’t need to tell anyone that a better looking person will be more successful than a less good looking person with the same personality. It’s just common sense and is wildly known.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 12:46 AM

Almost every person, man or woman, risks things on the daily for their pleasure. You risk gaining weight by eating certain foods, you risk your health by overworking and going after a big pay check. Sometimes we do things that may not even be beneficial for us in the long term for the sake of pleasure/achievement/ or gratification. It’s the same with sex. As soon as you start treating it as something totally natural, then you can rationalise and understand my perspective.

A lot of the red pill, seduction, and dating advice subs is just common sense. Like, why do men even need to be told that hitting the gym, developing hobbies, going out and just talking to women, making friends etc. will help? Like ofc it will help if you become a better looking, well-rounded person. It doesn’t take a whole ideology and an advice sub for that.

I’ve seen some clips of him on TikTok and a lot of it involves referring to women in derogatory terms, and treating them as inferior, almost as if they’re property. In fact I believe he says women “belong to men” who should “control them”. That kind of rhetoric u know
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 12:32 AM
2

But it is silly. The example I provided is specifically redundant. Sure, It’s still a preference but it’s an odd, illogical, and unnecessarily limiting one - hence, silly. There’s a difference between leading an unsafe sexual lifestyle, and living a life. Either way, most women will accumulate a certain number. I’d say it’s not the number that matters but the way it was accumulated. If it was dangerous sex with strangers - yeah ok, I get the hesitation. If it was safe sex then who cares? Most im…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 12:31 AM

But it doesn’t? Most women aren’t risking abuse by having sex? Pregnancy isn’t really a risk if you use measures to protect yourself, and same with STIs? What does manipulation have anything to do with this?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 12:25 AM
1

Hmm. I wouldn’t say leadership is a masculine trait. Id say leadership is a trait of success. And I can admit that Tate is successful in building an impressionable audience. Still, an appealing lifestyle shouldn’t necessarily mean a full rejection of a moral compass and adoption of sexist, unkind values. It’s possible to want a cool lifestyle like that of a rich and famous guy without adopting their mentality.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 12:24 AM
1

Very well put. Another person even responded by saying he’s the “embodiment of what a masculine man is”. But that’s such a broad concept stuffed into a caricatured stereotype of a masculine-presenting individual that it genuinely makes no sense at all
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 12:21 AM
2

How is it not silly? It’s an arbitrary number that defines nothing. It tells you nothing about a woman, her anatomy or her character. You’ll learn a lot more by just talking to a woman and spending time with her than by a body count. It’s truly not indicative of anything. It’s like saying I won’t date any guy who’s ever been vegetarian (if let’s say I eat meat). He’s not vegetarian while he’s with you, so what does it matter what he did or didn’t eat in the past?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 12:20 AM
3

But what is it about him that even makes him “masculine”? What defines masculinity to you? To me he’s like an actor/a persona. He portrays a character so devoid of human emotion and normal human values that it’s just unrealistic. A man can want all the things you’ve mentioned, and have all those things you’ve mentioned, and simultaneously not be a d*ck, and treat others (men and women) with total respect and kindness.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/22 12:17 AM

I don’t think these are necessarily double standards that are unacceptable. We all compromise and we all can have our preferences. It’s fine to want what you want, and to aim for it. It only becomes an issue when one’s expectations are irrational and/or unreasonable, and then the person gets upset when they’re not met. It also becomes an issue when a person doesn’t treat others with dignity and respect whenever they don’t fit into their desired dating brackets. Or when requirements are downright…

So? When you’re this supposed “10/10” you’d be able to get with most women, including the one that hooked up with the 6/10 guy. What do you mean “no”? Are you saying most abortions occur in cases when a pregnancy is planned? That isn’t true. Because it’s not an opinion, what I told you is fact. The whole rational developed world thinks rape is atrocious and it’s considered a crime. Abortion and rape aren’t similar whatsoever, and one is objectively worse than the other. Even the supreme courts decision that you hold so dear doesn’t advocate for states to enact punishment for women who choose to have an abortion.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 10:04 PM
2

I didn’t justify them? I said circumcision/male genital mutilation sucks but it’s not state mandated and is a decision of the parents. I also brought up female genital mutilation as the equivalence. Abortion is in no way similar to severity, mental or physical, to circumcision, which again, has no mandated state laws enforcing it, and to try and equate these two is just intellectually disingenuous.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 10:01 PM

No one is entitled to other people’s money but taxes exist, welfare programs exist. We as a society make certain allowances that overall help people out, whether you deem these people worthy of your help or not. Abortion was one of those things. It doesn’t absolve people of consequences because abortion is still a traumatic experience that no woman and hopefully no man takes lightly. It just ensures there are less unwanted children out there, less dangerous self-inflicted abortions, etc.

I support abortion at any point in the gestation period if it threatens the life of the woman. Late term abortion is a grey line but I would lean towards not supporting abortion past the point where a fetus can survive outside of the womb with other interference. Late term abortions aren’t really a debate though, and were pretty much always prohibited/advised against as they’re simply dangerous.

So your overall take is apathy? You just don’t care?

What lmao? Men can’t give birth, it’s a fundamental difference in biology, not a privilege.

What do you mean “why?” Cake batter isn’t cake. A fetus becomes a baby when it is born.

Vasiliy, it takes two to tango, you know that, right? And are you also aware that abortions are overwhelmingly performed in case of accidental pregnancies, right? As in, women don’t control whether they get pregnant or not but it does involve either BC failure or a guy nutting inside of her. This is shit for everyone. And involves both men and women being “irresponsible” in your own words. If you really cared about babies and people taking responsibility then you should be advocating for mandato…

Abortion is the responsible thing to do when pregnancy is unwanted.

By your logic the man was irresponsible to have sex with a fertile woman to begin with.

What privileges? How is getting abortion a privilege? Are you hearing yourself?

Stupid take. Babies and fetuses are different things.

What fucking privilege? Men can’t get pregnant. Never could, never will be able to. This is exclusively stripping women of right of choice.

No you don’t.

Going to the military is a choice, and we’re not at active war when men actively being drafted would surely cause protests. Circumcision isn’t forced by the state but rather by the parents. I agree that it sucks. However, abortion is a much more significant/severe issue than circumcision. I don’t see you or most men protesting genital mutilation of women either, and that’s a closer equivalence. You must be able to admit that a loss of rights for any group of humans is shit, and shouldn’t be apat…

So you should care a lot about the issue and support women. Most human beings don’t actually suck you know. If men were suddenly forced to have vasectomies at age 18 or at puberty or something that would take away their bodily autonomy in any way, then I’d be pretty mad too.

No, there’s no logic in your statement just false equivalences. Rape is an objectively terrible act that has no justifications whatsoever under any circumstances. Abortion, on the other hand, while traumatic, isn’t inherently evil and has a variety of justifications/reasons behind it. You’re right - outlawing abortions won’t stop them, but it sure as hell will make them more dangerous, and will result in a lot of unwanted children being born, not to mention innumerable other negative consequence…

Lmao what you can absolutely get pregnant at any point in your cycle, during your period included

Yeah okay so we don’t need to eat until we’re starving, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be allowed to enjoy great food and restaurants. Sex is healthy and enjoyable. There’s literally nothing wrong with having sex. Restricting abortions is just another way to limit women’s autonomy.

But abortion isn’t equivalent to rape at all the fuck
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/22 06:09 PM

Because this is a step back in human rights, that’s why you should care

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
