Yeah. The comment I responded to was about women in particular, but you're absolutely right the divide goes both ways.

r/femaledatingstrategy Sadly, you're not wrong. Whether personal issues, or just bad experiences, there is absolutely a verifiable subset of women that a playing a strange dating game that 99 percent of men have no idea is happening. The sub is really eye opening.

Well thank you for that.

I've thoroughly stated my points. It's clear that we don't agree on fundamental facts that would be necessary to reach any kind of consensus. For instance, you feel a fetus isn't sentient at any point in development. When I questioned that, you simply attacked me as being pro-life. I support a woman's right to abortion, but I do not see that as inconsistent with the underlying discussion of a fetus being sentient. I am not certain how you can claim a fetus at all stages is not sentient unless yo…

It's a shame that someone might incidentally agree with your flailing logic simply because they agree with your viewpoints.

I don't think your distinction holds much water. Yes, the mother consents. As she does in circumcision. The baby, or fetus in that case, does not consent in either. In both cases the parent makes the decision. I am not sure I concur that a fetus is not "sentient". I think that's a pretty weak false assumption to begin from without even discussing what term the abortion is performed during. What I am saying is that when society consents, the medical professionals, and other professionals, should …

As I said, I applaud personal choices. I just wonder if you would be as supportive if it were a cadre of doctors refusing to ever perform an abortion as "it is an act of injuring a patient for no medical reason". Medical procedures are done for a lot of reasons that are not medical. They are often based on personal decisions. Everything you've said is true in an abortion situation, including lack of consent of the "patient". I think this behavior is not acceptable when society has approved of th…

I'm all for their personal choices, but a doctor refusing to perform a socially approved surgery seems unacceptable to me. A bit like a pharmacist refusing to dispense birth control. Edit: Whew, it's rough trying to express an opinion around this joint.

Interesting article. Some comments on reddit actually helped in my decision not to circumcise my son. Going the be born the end of this month, and one of the first in a long time in my family to not have it done. I think the interplay between a father's social fears and having to actually do the circumcision are a huge issue. It takes a lot of inner strength not do it.

Some of this stuff, particularly the support guidelines, change of support based on income, and paternity testing just isn't true in my state, Oregon. But the rest is right on.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
