3	Equality to a point The Draft was made back when military doctrine and technology favored Massed Arms, and as technology has advanced, Massed formations have become obsolete, as things like drones and high yield explosives have drastically reduced the need or effectiveness of large groups of soldiers. As for imminent, immediate, or unexpected threats, that is what the standing military made up of those who want to serve is designed for. 6	Equality to a point The US was supposedly founded on the beliefs that every human being has the natural rights of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Military service is risking your life while having no true free will and being absolutely miserable most of the time, if what I've heard from veterans is true.
