This person is completely exaggerating. Nothing in the movie ever belittles men, nor is gender really ever brought up as a topic at all. Peach is shown to excell in an obstacle-course that's in her castle, where she grew up and lived all her life. Mario is shown to struggle as he has literally never done this before, but through perseverence trains over and over until he almost masters it. All of Peach's dialouge is incredibly encouraging towards him.

That line glosses over the fact that she was raised in the Mushroom kingdom and while she may have passed that specific obstacle course first try, she almost certainly by that point would've had experience on smaller scale training to even know how to jump, dodge and punch etc. Mario went from level 0 to level 50 immediately. And it doesn't say anything about gender at all in that scene.

This isn't the first instance of Peach not being a damsel in distress, there's plenty of games where she's playable (and sometimes not) and she's powerful in her own right. But ignoring all that, you tell me from a movie-writing standpoint how you would write a scene of Mario, who is brand-new to the Mushroom Kingdom, training to face the hazards found there and using the power-ups. Would you have a Toad do it? That would be even more laughable.

Bruh the Mario Movie doesn't make it about gender at all. Peach is shown to be fantastic at it but says nothing about boys being shit or anything. And the montage of Mario training is, funnily enough, TRAINING. He has literally never done this before besides a scene earlier in the move when jumping across some scaffolding in Brooklyn which shows he has the potential that the training gets him to achieve. This is exactly how I feel. I don't feel like I'm safe around strangers who are women, not because they could do something to me but the assumption that I might to them. Domestic abuse claims and custody laws are just as terrifying for me too.
