By definition feminism is the belief in and advocacy for full social, economic, and political equality between men and women. I believe (and I think most people do) that should be teached in school in the same way we teach that it’s bad to be racist, homophobic or antisemitic. The issue is that there is a difference between the ideology definition and the movement, in the same way that being anti racist didn’t mean you support BLM movement. The school system should definitely not promote being p…

And the fact that he still thinks a lot about it 3 years after is proof of how hurtful it was. Even if people would disregard that.

This has no base, masturbation it’s not harmful in any way, it’s even healthy if done in moderation. So you do you! However, porn is. It can be addictive and it can disrupt your sexual health. It can fuck with your brain. But it’s not something that permanently disable you, if you consume too much of it now you will be fine once you cut it off (as most non-physical addictions). It is better to dial it back or just avoid it altogether.

Having different opinions is good, let them comment. We don't need to do the same bad thing. Also, it doesn't help to their cause neither. It just reinforce the echo chamber but makes it hard to grow

Good, let them comment and express themselves (while they are not being abusive). It is good to challenge our perspective and they are good for that. If we need to ban them to feel protected it indicates our ideas might be as flawed as the other sides.

It is not unnatural just not biological, but taking care of other peoples kids is natural behavior for many species. The proper role models are a utopia, I don't think same sex couple fall significantly shorter from it than the average straight couple. And we are talking about adoption, so the alternative is not always another set of parents either.
/r/MensRights13/05/25 11:35 AM

Is it really against nature? What makes it so? It is true that some traits that are more common in women are important in raising a kid, but that happens with heterosexual couples too. No set of parents is perfect, that doesn't mean you can't raise a healthy person if you put the effort, heterosexual or otherwise.

That makes cheating for a man even worse (I don’t think that is true tho). A man needs to intentionally and actively seek another woman in order to cheat while a woman is presented with the opportunity. The fact that “requires more skill” doesn’t make it better. According to this logic, is worse to keep a the money from a wallet you find on the street than rob a bank: because for the first one you just need to go along and for the second one requires skill and planning, could be seen as an “achi…

Asking in a group full of people who have very different opinions than you have is wise. It is the best way of breaking the echo chamber we all have.

I don't think it is wrong that "women only" places exists. The problem is that we have been told for years that having "men only" places was discriminatory and patriarchal, so it feels like a double standards. Also, it really depends on the context. Having a "women only" gyms, hostels or social groups makes sense. Having a women only school for religious reasons also makes sense (I don't agree with the idea tho), and the male only counterpart of all of this also makes sense. But having when only…

There is a difference between what is fair and what is good. It would be fair to put them the same punishment the man would get plus a big fine. But rape is a very hard thing to prove, and that makes it one of the few crimes you get sentences without more evidence than an accusation (which is bad by itself), so if you put severe punishment to the accusers you would get less confessions of false allegations, and more men will suffer.

Stop losing control in argument and becoming violent would be my advice. Probably therapy could help with that.

You got it switched. It doesn't matter who started, if you loose control you are in the wrong. It doesn't apply only with romantic relationships, it applies with your parents, with your friends, with your children, in the workspace, etc.

In this case she has a good point tho. Braking shit out of anger is by itself a threaten of physical violence, you could argue that it is a as destructive as actual physical abuse. I understand that this sub is prone to get posts where the women are victimizers, but is not the case with this one. She got rightfully terrified by his actions and can't remain married in that state. For other women it would be enough for actually ending their relationship but she is willing to give OP an opportunity…

I don't know enough to answer that. But I'd guess it is because women studying and working is relatively new at a cultural level (a century is not that much). So even if legally they have the same rights as men, culture change way more slowly. Most girls still play with dolls, baby dolls and toy house and kitchens while most boys play with cars or science oriented toys. That affects us when we grow up. I'm any case, any bias is bad. Even if someone proves that women are worse at science (which I…

I don't mean "rights" just by law (English is not my first language, sorry the misunderstanding). There is still a bias against women that creates an unfair disadvantage for them in those places. This grants men more right to me there than women. This "right" is not enforced by law, is given by society and culture. Quotas are the worse possible measure to fight against that. They are definitely institutional discrimination against men and they are counter productive. How I am supposed to respect…

I 100% agree with you. Feminism (by its definition) wants equal rights, they attack gender issues that affect women, MRA is the same but attack gender issues that affect men. Not only they shouldn't be against each other, therr are gender issues that affects men and women and should be common ground. But there are misandristic women disguised as feminists and misogynistic men disguised as MRA activists.

What is the difference between being pro-male and not anti-male? Is being pro-male believing that men are the superior sex or just believing both sex deserves same respect and rights and address issues that conflicts with that?

32 years old in America, a "partner", one kid. Yes, you do. I see you did your homework, but I am not American tho. Your life. Just like in marriage or whatever type of union you choose. I meant "prize" as what do you get if you win, if when winning you just get to continue living as you were before, then is not a good deal at all. But is not like this in union. Well. I don't really have experience with russian roulette, what would be the price for the winner? In a relationship would be spending your life with an amazing person who push you towards your goals while you also push them towards their dream goals. Why would you do that? Not every woman is this crazy. I agree there are an overwhelming amount of misandristic women and is even accepted (is not considered sexism of the victim is male). But there is also a good proportion of women who are smart and sane, and make excellent partners. They are not that uncommon either

This is infuriating. I don't care if you participate in r/HitlerWasNice, participating in another subreddit shouldn't be an offense. Judge me for what I say here, nothing else. Let alone that it is not the purpose of this subreddit to be misogynistic or spread hate (there are some people... But is not the majority). I don't think moderetors here would ban people just for being a woman or even for being part of r/Feminism. We need to avoid echo chambers, or at least not enforcing them.

To be fair you seem to be easily surprised, it was pretty straightforward. Most people surround themselves with people that think like them, so you saying that it not much different than the feminists who think every woman feel safer with a bear because they just talked with similarly deranged women. I'm not saying that this "bear or man" thing is not utterly BS and primarily spread by empty headed people to make an absurd point. Just saying your argument is flawed.

This is survivorship bias. If she wasn't the kind of people who answer like that you probably wouldn't be with her.

Leaving out sex and reproduction, this is an absurd question (and the other side, "Do women still need men" is exactly the same). What does it "need" means in this context? We don't need women for surviving or in the workplace, the same way we don't need men for surviving or in the workplace. It would be just worse. I understand why men feel compelled to remove women from their life with all the radical feminism bs around. But it shouldn't be is against them.

It is not obvious to choose the bear in that conditions. It is stupid or, most probably, a lie. I'm sure if they would actually have the option they would answer differently. I haven't been around sharks that much. But I know I rather share a pool with a man than a shark.

I don't know why. But misandry doesn't bother me bear as much as the bad statistics. Let's apply the same logic here: Studies show that 1/3 traffic accidents is caused by drunk people, so 2/3 is caused by sober people. I'm addition, the more time you spend on the road the more chance you have to have an accident, and the faster you drive the less time you spend on the road. So obviously is safer to always drive drunk and as fast as you can.

Yes, I don't want that women, as a group, are seen as the perpetratos of violence. Because they are not. There are individual women that think like that, but not ever women is responsible. We have seen a lot in this sub about some people vilifying all men for rape, violence and domestic abuse. We hate when they made all responsible for the action of some mentally ill men, as if we, as s community, decide that rape is good and choose some women to rape them. It is crazy that some women think like…

I don't believe that most people, or women or even feminists want to kill, rape and abuse men. I've never talked with someone with this genocidal tendencies. I've talked with feminist and other people I don't agree with but never someone with this level. But there are a lot of enablers. The lack of consequences for this explicit hate speech is the main issue
/r/MensRights23/03/24 07:25 PM

This is the main issue. There will always be evil misandristic and evil misogynistic genocidal people, and they are few, unintelligent and unimportant. But the misogynistic men are well aware they can't expose themselves publicly without sever consequences. Why the misandristic fell that they can?
/r/MensRights23/03/24 06:26 PM

I'm not mad that some people think like that. There are a loud minority and they can't even write well. There will be always people that think like that for both sexes. What is infuriating is the fact that they get away with it, how the society allow this. Misogynistic men at least know that what they think is wrong to say publicly, they could have consequences for that.

This should be in the description of the sub. I would say that is not even "all feminists are evil". Feminism is actually good, and share a lot with what this sub should be about. The problem is the people (not all women) who use feminism as a facade for misandry, and believe is a loud minority. Even in this sub there were comments from feminists that were absolutely on point. We both want equity but we focus on different aspects of the inequality.

I don't have relationship problems, I am in a happy 8 yo relationship and we have a baby. Both of us check some of your "red flags", and I know they are BS. The trick is just to spend time with the person, know each other before committing, and don't rush things. The idea of waiting until marriage to live together or have sex, promoted mainly by religious people, makes no sense at all.

Helping a Man have a family without the risks of jail and financial ruin. All good with that. Is not the post that bothers me. What is wrong with this comment section? Why the misogyny? There are good women out there, you just need to find one, ver with her for a while, know her and decide if she is the person you want to spend your life with. Besides that, there is no much else to do. Settling friend and having kids puts you in a very vulnerable position no matter what, it is worth it with the right person.

Let’s just ignore how women are incredibly entitled, rude, arrogant, and hateful Calling all women entitled, rude, arrogant, and hateful is not only hateful, is also not true. You might have had bad experiences with women but that doesn't make them all bad, not even the majority. You can't just call it "facts". There are very subjective things to say and the source is your own experience. The particular woman you were responding to strikes me as everything you said tho.
