In what universe most men have so many options for a relationship to be the "gatekeepers of relationships". From a pure numbers perspective, most men struggle to get chances a both sex and relationships.

Women gatekeep both relationships and sex given. Most men have to struggle even to get a crumb of female attention, let alone vetting enough women for a relationship. Edit: I mean, I can understand the "adopting a different mindset" argument, but I'm skeptical about how that can actually work if it isn't based on reality.
