If you don't mind me taking my time. I have a BA in English Literature, one of my focuses was Victorian lit. I've read the direct source material of influential feminists of the era, men and women alike. If you want me to go into detail, point by point, with my own sources, I can. But a TLDR is that I find this sub to be overly reactionary and non-productive. I don't think I'd ever claim that any movement, let alone a social movement like feminism is devoid of radicalism or extremism, but … | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 21/04/20 09:17 PM |

| 2 | A subreddit called mensleft has 13 readers, and promises "Instant ban for anyone employing any variation on the word "feminism" in any context whatsoever."I'm sorry, but how do you explain the suffragettes? There have been so many badass feminists fighting misogyny over history. That doesn't have to take away from what we're doing here. I've come to agree that feminism isn't really gender equality. But it's not the boogeyman this sub makes it out to be. Getting caught up in semantics is gonna lead us no where. Focusing on feminism as a cult isn't helpful to anyone except your feelings. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 21/04/20 06:27 PM |
| 12 | SUGGESTION: A pinned post where we can elucidate where we stand in the gender equality spectrum.I think one of the greatest challenges this sub faces is the obstacle of perception. It is soooooo easy for screenshots of mra subs to float around and define our movement. That isnt to say that men venting their frustrations here isn't welcome. I think a weekly discussion thread for major recurring topics would be beneficial. That way, we can hopefully avoid messy ranting posts that make us all look bad. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 19/04/20 02:41 PM |

| 1 | What can we do to convince feminists to be allies to the movement? You just assume so much about people you don't know. Generalizations are dangerous. I doubt I'll divorce a woman because I'm gay. So there goes all your arguments about me pandering to women for pussy. Really threatens you that I can respect people and hold a position that advocates for men's rights. Meanwhile, this argument we're having is completely worthless. | 5 | What can we do to convince feminists to be allies to the movement?Idk about this. A looooot of women I talk to, feminists included, are worried about men. They're raising boys, and they're not blind. The problems we face come for them. Mostly I've found success in this ideology: "the fight for my rights does not have to infringe on yours, and vice versa." Truly, the only way society makes radical social improvements is through intersectionality. Men come of all shapes, sizes, races, religions. Hell some men even start as women. The behaviour explained in that article is something I might see during something more risqué, or a sex party, or maybe pride. | 4 | Warren Farrell protest at University of Toronto 2012 was the second time after Occupy Wallstreet that I realised something was rotten within leftism. When did you see the rot?"Something wrotten within leftism" is such a loaded term and doesn't mean anything. There isn't a single moral or political movement that doesn't have 'rot'. Furthermore, it is seriously dangerous how easily words and identities that are anti-establishment become co-opted and their meanings changed. | 3 | OP in r/sex posts about double standards against men. Comments defend double standard and prove his point.Hmmmm.... i guess just out of my own experience. Im bi... But i almost exclusively have sex with men because the sex culture is happier and healthier. Yeah, one aspect of that is being dick hungry, but honestly I know lots of girls like that too, so. Its just easier with men for me. Flows easier. Natural. Guys are more upfront and want similar things. I was a third for a couple for a year. Not romantically just sex, though we did become friends. Cant imagine doing that for a straight couple. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 17/03/20 05:17 PM |

So why should I vote for someone who believes the most important qualification for their vice president is their genitalia?)What? How is this doubtable? Representation is a pillarstone of democracy. A rich white man isn't going to raise the issues of a poor black man, or a woman in crisis, or a transgender man. I'm Canadian. I support the intention behind Trudeau's gender balanced cabinet because as a gay man I understand that having representation that empathizes with you is power. So why should I vote for someone who believes the most important qualification for their vice president is their genitalia?)O.o When Obama said ISIS is a generational problem, he'a saying that generations of violence and poverty is the structure that leads to radicalism. This structure is so widespread and pervasive that until the social issues are dealt with systemically, ISIS, or factions similar to is, will continue to exist. Am I wrong here? I'm Canadian, so my experience with politics (and gender, especially with Trudeau) is very different BUT I think in the US where there are very real and frightening realities about being a women (which does not undermine the male experience), having a woman that high in office leads to greater representation, which the US desperately needs. | 4 | Are we all agreed that the content of academic feminist "studies" is closer to religion than science?Literature major here at a global university. I've encountered lots of humanities courses and one women's studies. I've never met a teacher that was wildly hypocritical, and gender is just a lens to look at. And an interesting one. It's interesting to talk about the different waves of feminism and their effects on society, politics, and art. I've never once encountered a situation where the subject or content was anti-male.
