1	Double Standards Galore I tried telling the cops she was the abusive one. No one believed me. I tried to press charges, they wouldn't even let me. 30	Double Standards Galore Yup. I was in an abusive relationship and I was trapped in it. I had to have her as a roommate because the recession was in full swing and I couldn't afford an apartment on my own and I knew of no one else I could stay with as I was several states away from home. So I had to stick it out and try to get through it. I ended up spending a night in jail after one altercation. I called the cops on her and I ended up in jail because she lied.
