I wish I would have done like Hakimi (spelling). He’s a Moroccan soccer player who has zero in assets…he put everything in his mother’s name.

I would say careful with the cohabitation if you aren’t 100%. Common law marriages are still a thing. I’d say that complete access to you is what makes women take men for granted. (My ex-gf is an example…thought I learned my lesson from my ex-wife…I’m slow but not dumb)

Hell no. Until they lose “no-fault divorce” it makes ZERO sense to get married. If someone I met really checked off the boxes, ALL of them, and she needed that safety, maybe…with a serious prenup. Ask yourself: WHAT BENEFIT DO YOU GET FROM BEING IN A MARRIAGE THAT YOU CAN’T GET FROM A HEALTHY COMMITTED RELATIONSHIP? (Besides tax benefits/sharing insurance)

Short answer: it gets better You are going through a renewal. Like a forest fire…unimaginable amounts of loss and pain. But a forest fire is not a death sentence for the forest. Only for what was there. Fire eradicates the preexisting things (good AND bad things) that hold you back from growing and becoming a better version of yourself. It hurts, it’s supposed to. That’s how we burn away and get rid of the parts we don’t need. And what about the parts that were burnt that you do need?…if you obt…

Well put. “Getting revenge for your dignity” will feel good in the short term, but it does nothing for healing. Work on you, f*ck her and your less than loyal friends, work on being a better you. You’re 30…you can get revenge by being the guy she wishes she had…and never capitulating. Once you are happy with yourself, you’ll attract what you want, versus searching far and wide for it. That said, do let us know if you come up with something!!!

No. I have zero attraction to a selfish b!tch who would jeopardize her kids’ future by cheating. She repulses me.

It’s ok to not know! It’s also ok to disagree, we’re all trying to give insight as to our experiences. What you do with it is your god given right. Just beware of always thinking your situation is the exception, it usually isn’t. And most important, be kind to yourself. You’re going through the worst pain, and I’m a combat vet who lost a bunch of guys at once, this pain eclipsed that pain for me. So you’re gonna have ups and downs…it ok. Be kind to yourself

Also saw you were hoping there was some hope for women. That’s a poor strategy. I used to think that, now I think they’re all the same until someone changes my mind. You’re the boss of your life, you decide who gets what parts of you, and in what amount. Once you figure out how to be happy on your own, women’s problems seem less impactful because you see that it’s their problem, they create it, and they don’t like the obvious solution, so they want men to bend over backwards so they don’t have t…

I just reread your original post. The fact that it has affected your son…don’t put him through any scenario like that again. Your job is to protect and nurture your son. Teach him to love his mom, but that she is a woman. Women are emotional creatures…your son will have to weave through the emotional barrage women (including your ex) will inundate him with…he has to learn to think logically and understand manipulation because it’s scary to see how naturally it comes to women. (I have a son too, …

A girlfriend comes with her own issues. Eventually they will want all the same benefits of a wife. She’ll still want 100% of your time and effort. Don’t fool yourself thinking it’s MARRIAGE that ruins men. It’s WOMEN who have ruined MARRIAGE.

Also the women are women. They are headstrong and want you all to themselves, but they want to tend the home and kids while the man does the typical man duties and brings home the bacon.

Interesting fact, in The Philippines, divorce is illegal. It’s a catholic country, and they are very religious. (I’m first generation Filipino American)

Glad to see I’m not the only one who has gotten that treatment! She was completely the impetus but then mentions that I caused it. No accountability. Afraid of their own consequences.

I have 2 kids with my ex. Being “friends” causes a ton of problems. Especially if you want to date. The kids will start to think there’s hope. She will start to think she has you in her orbit again. Women are amazing at compartmentalization. That’s why they can have options and still lie to themselves that they are committed to a man. You can never forget what you’ve gone through at her hands. That will steel your mind to not play into her manipulative tricks. Good luck, I hope you find happines…

Yeah she wants something. She may start off friendly, and then go into her problems, hoping she can pull your heartstrings to help her out. Don’t listen to her words. Her actions have told you enough. In my mind, If she wanted to get back in my good graces, she’d have to do something equally positive in my life to counteract the negative she thrust on me. Obviously she can’t. It’s impossible. She caused this, the consequences are hers. Stay strong. Don’t be manipulated.

The general state of society and the current dating culture makes me truly consider whether marrying again is even something I’d want to do. When she did that over 4 years ago, it really changed my mind regarding what I wanted to deal with in my life. After that I put in a lot of work to be happy with myself…for what reason would I disrupt that now? The institute of marriage just does not make sense anymore. Btw cool eris morn avatar

After 11 years and 2 kids here. The no-fault divorce that is prevalent now is the downfall of marriage. No risk for her. Now I get to restart dating again in my 40’s. F this life sometimes.

Take care of you! Give yourself permission to be sad! When I was first given the news, I found whiskey and mj helped. Get yourself through…don’t make any decisions right now!!! Just cope, the initial thing to do is survive, because you just took a big hit. You gotta experience the first wave, then you can start to work through it. Don’t try to fight for an answer to your situation, just accept that it’s happening and feel that pain and betrayal because it will awaken you to who she really is. Th…
