I wrap food gifts in beeswax wrap too, and the receiver can use it to store the food :)

I know you think he didn’t get rejected by the ex, but all signs point to exactly that scenario occurring and you’re still the rebound. He’ll string you along until he’s found the next new thing and this scenario will repeat itself.

A restaurant voucher, nice artisan Christmas foods/ condiments (like spreads or sauces), something you’ve baked and flowers, a bottle of wine are all nice gifts which aren’t too personal or going overboard.

It’s a combination of low self-esteem and having this dialogue of “you’re special/ perfect as you are, and any guy who can’t see that is not worth your time” being repeated to them without seeing any evidence to affirm this theory in their reality. This again feeds into their anxiety/ low self-esteem. Comparing oneself to others and seeking constant external validation is common among people who feel this way.

Perhaps find a source of meaning and fulfilment in your life beyond your spouse. Find a hobby, socialise, exercise, work on your yourself, volunteer, you could even work a few hours if having a bit of extra money would be helpful.

I work in healthcare and in my late 20s (allied health) and have many doctor friends (men mostly) who are the same age. They are all dating other doctors and many wouldn’t even consider for a second dating someone who wasn’t also a doctor or in a comparative high-paying field (e.g. law).

I also have veiny arms because I’m lean and lift weights. I’d say many of the men at my gym wish they had the arm pumps and vascularity that I do. My hands are covered in calluses too. I’ve never had a man think I was not feminine or unattractive, quite the reverse. I think as long as you’re otherwise in good shape and take care of your appearance you won’t have an issue. Veiny hands isn’t a dealbreaker on an otherwise attractive and feminine woman.

Yes. I use an eyebrow razor type thing. Doesn’t grow back thicker or faster.

For what it’s worth, I’m 27 and have managed to save $170,000. I am a minimalist which has been key to promoting my saving. I have a capsule wardrobe of a few nice things, and when I do buy things like makeup, clothing, skin care, shoes I make sure I have a discount code or voucher, only shop during a sale, and try and use money I’ve been gifted and saved up. I compared prices for insurance, phone plans, and utilities, and always switch to a less expensive one when I find it. I still dine out a …

Moving forward you need to reduce the amount of time and energy you invest in someone you’re chatting to before meeting in person. It should be limited to brief messages (planning a date primarily) and maybe a call or two. If you haven’t got a date set after a week or so of messaging, (and there’s no huge barrier why you can’t), even if it’s further forward in the future, chances are you never will. You need to get a person from being online to someone you’ve met face to face foremost before you…

I would say ‘many’ is an overstatement. Some would be more realistic.

You’ll have to be comfortable with his ex remaining very involved in his life (and your life by extension) until his children are older. You will also have to be OK with him prioritising them over your relationship too.

This. I think it’ll start with massage parlours and likely escalate overtime if you keep allowing it. I’d set boundaries now.

This. Many people talk about educating not mattering on this sub, but it absolutely does. Wealthy, well educated and successful men generally look for some of those same traits in their partners. They don’t seriously date financially irresponsible women, those who aren’t very aspirational, or those who’s level of education are much less than their own. There’s nothing wrong with working in retail or hospitality as a server your whole life, but don’t expect to be married to a lawyer or a physicia…

When I’d stay over at my ex’s place during the week he’d drive me into work and we would always stop by a cafe and he’d buy me a takeaway coffee on the way there. Really set me up for a good day. He used to work night shift, and while I always prep my meals on Sunday’s for myself, during those weeks I’d make a few extras to bring to him.

Coats and tights. I also like wearing tights with an a-line skirt and sweater or fitted polo/ turtle neck tucked in as an outfit that can be layered.

I think I’m okay compared to other women my age. I exercise every day, take care of my skin, eat healthy, have 6 figures saved and will by a flat of my own soon to have as an investment, studied at uni and have a good/ stable career in healthcare, taught myself how to cook and can make lots of things now, am tidy and take care of my home, have a very good relationship with my family, patient and kind which I’ve learnt through my job working with people with complex disabilities, I dress nicely, …

I do indicate that I’m looking to date leading to a relationship, they’re generally agreeable and respond with something along the lines of “I’m open to dating seriously with the right person”. The reasons for non-commitment only arise after a few months when they feel as if dating is heading in that direction. Mostly thorough online dating. I work in an industry that is mostly female and don’t have many single friends.

My partner and I haven’t been together long. I’m 27, he’s 29. We have a very high combined income. I have a history of eating disorder and while I’m recovered and have been for sometime, my weight is still (only just) considered underweight. Unfortunately my period has not returned and it might be several years before it does my doctor says. Having one child of my own is the goal for now, and seeing how I cope with the change in my body. I would like to be a foster carer as I have experience as …

+1 for daily sunscreen. Cheapest (and one of the most effective) things you can use to keep your skin looking youthful and minimise premature ageing.
