3	One more reason to keep marriages intact My memory may fail me here, but years back, I read about how despite having a present father, Elliot and his dad actually didn’t have a true son-father connection. Same for his mom. Both parents were what you’d call emotionally absent, and didn’t engage on Elliot’s life/problems.
