I don't have a problem with encouraging people to read books from authors with different perspectives. It could really be an enlightening experience to read a book from a transgendered author. This campaign is going about things the wrong way though. Don't challenge readers to cut a demographic of authors out, they should be promoting multicultural authors, give them some free publicity if the issue is that important in their eyes.

I don't have money for any sort of legal battle right now. I'm still rebuilding my funds from being unemployed for nearly 3 months (I didn't qualify for unemployment because I was an independent contractor), I have medical bills that still need paying, and I'm still going to school. You aren't accounting for population increases though. In 1981 the UK had approximately 46 million people. In 2012 it had a population of 63.7 million. This is roughly a 38% increase. 1981 had 4,129 men committing suicide. In 2012 4,590 men committed suicide. This is only an 11% increase from 1981. If my figures are correct that means the number of men committing suicide is only increasing at 29% of the rate of population growth.

Well, aggravated assault is pretty much synonymous with assault with a deadly weapon. The only real thing separating this from attempted homicide is intent, which she clearly showed by putting fucking antifreeze in his coffee.

One thing that I noticed was she is only being charged with aggravated assault (1-20 years) when she clearly should be charged with attempted homicide (minimum sentence of 10 years). If she was a man, the prosecution would be going for every little charge they could get her on, and would be advocating for maximum sentencing.

As a small man, (didn't reach 120 lbs until senior year) I didn't get any sort of leeway or protection. I would get punished for fighting back when fuckers twice my size would fuck with me. Hell, I got stitches and suspended on the same day once. My bully just claimed I made some comment about his name (I didnt, but it was spelled an awful lot like dung though), and suddenly his actions were justified.

True, but the fact that OP didn't mention it can be used against our cause. We may as well take the moral high ground by condemning him as a misogynist, and that any twisted world view that he perceived is not condoned by men's rights activists. I personally have no gripes with the open/closed toe shoes issue until it starts to interfere with OSHA regulations. I worked in theatre for 5 years, and everybody was expected to wear closed toe shoes. In a normal Office setting both Men and Women should be allowed open toed shoes, and in a setting where OSHA regulations require protective footwear, both genders should have to adhere to the same standard, for safety purposes of course.
