I’m a woman. But that ex-wife is evil. However, exes don’t have to be women in order to do really mean things. My ex is a man and he pulled the same type of stunt.

Thank you for your kind response. I appreciate it.

Mom here. My ex-husband did what apparently your ex-wife did. Lies, nitpicking, and betrayals. It’s been a year since my last custody court date. I’ve gone bankrupt fighting. Now, I’ve accepted that this is the way things are. When I have my kids- I maximize the time by being present. I’m sorry this happened to you. I wish you the best. Some women are awful, just as one men are.

Family Court is absolute bull💩. I am so sorry (coming from a mom).

Woman here. I know that this will be a time and semi-money suck, but interview no less than three- make sure they know the judge and are located pretty close to the courthouse. Sorry she did this to you.

Woman here. She’s casting stones. Don’t fall for it. You saved your family a ton of money. She’ll find out.

Oh my gosh. That’s awful.

As a mom - the more and more I read about child support/alimony- the more I’m opposed to the way it’s calculated and enforced. I think reforms in criminal justice system and the divorce should be taking precedent. I’m truly sorry.

Damn. It sucks.

I’m A divorced woman - I support this. Where I’m at, once a Judge is assigned your divorce/child custody case, you’re stuck for life. If I campaign for the judge running against him/her, I wonder if that’d be an automatic conflict of interest and reassignment of Judge. Divorce/Child custody court is just awful.

I think your daughter may be hoping for something that will never be, unfortunately. I think though it’s kinda cool you don’t actively discourage it more than you have….. though it may be time.

Why don’t the kids go to her place? Is yours newer? Larger? Have you ever dated anyone? Are the kids tight with their mom?

Doesn’t matter. If the woman called wife is bitter and vindictive- she can make his life ten times more miserable if she sniffs a girlfriend.

Umm. Your WIFE is probably being extra cause you have a girlfriend…..

Umm. Woman here. Not necessarily-in my experience- I was the only woman going through the divorce and the married women became super uncomfortable if I was around (almost like divorce could catch). They seemed happy when my ex and his affair partner got married though. I hope you all find the support you need. It’s tough.

Call. Make a report, please. This needs to be documented. Do NOT lt her flip the script. I’m sorry this happened to you and I’m sorry this happened in front of your kids. Do NOT hit her. But definitely report and file.

Be prepared for her attorney to say you 1) don’t want to change schedules 2) don’t want the kids in extracurriculars and 3) drink or do drugs.

I’m a divorced woman. I was with my ex-husband for 15 years. Three children. When I first left him- I thought all men were awful. I thought they all had a high probability of cheating and being mean. Then I heard some horror stories of men I took the time to meet and get to know. Ex-wives can be horrifically vindictive and use the system much easier against men. Then my ex got remarried and she is AWFUL. Today- I think women and men have it equally uneasy. Crappy people exist on both sides. It’s…

Woman here. Are you crazy?! Sir- get you a good attorney and file. She is abusing you and your boys are seeing this. Is THAT what you want your boys to grow up with? Clearly that woman knows how to behave but has chosen to not. Get out now. Get alimony or whatever. But get out.

I’m an ex-wife. When we separated- I helped the kids buy their dad birthday gifts. And for Father’s Day, I gave them ideas for a keepsake craft and let them make a mess in my garage. Until his affair partner turned girlfriend turned wife took over. I don’t regret helping the kids do what kids should do for their dad. I sleep better at night. Just make sure you take YOUR position in her life out of the equation and do set boundaries (dollar limit or how much thought you’ll put into it). My 12 yo …

Evidence exist in ways you probably don’t even imagine. A good lawyer can highlight them. Also- if she wants a divorce- make her earn it. lol.

Same could be said re: divorced women. But I won’t make the present/future man pay for the mistake of the past. Thats just mean.

Record. Record. Record. Of course, ask a lawyer first. Don’t be afraid to file TRO on her first. Start taking your kids out and doing things with them by yourself. Yes. Yes. I’m a woman but whatever. I wish I had don’t what I’m telling you. Find out the laws regarding recording and then start doing it. From now on- you’re collecting evidence. Go to therapy. Be proactive in all your steps.

My ex-husband and i divorced three years ago in 2022. He was 51. He was married to the love of his life at 51. You’ll be fine. I think.

Also- make your refi conditions apart of your divorce settlement. Don’t include her in anything to do with assets or debts unless it’s a condition of your divorce. People get petty and vindictive.

Bingo. Woman here. I filed on my now ex-husband at 45. I don’t have any regrets. Of course there was his affair. But sex- it was absolutely awful with my ex. I hated it. I decided never again will I be with a man and not want to have sex with him. If something is wrong medically or there’s an alternative to penetration- I’d be exploring all options for and with him (if there’s ever a him again).

Why am I here? Because I’m human and ironically after reading some posts I think the man is married to an awful woman and absolutely needs to leave the marriage or I wonder sometimes how my ex-husband might have been thinking before his affairs began. I’m not in a “woman are right” camp. I never will be. So if I can cheer a man on to his happiness- I will. I also am single and after reading some posts authored here, I’m learning that marriage has really scarred many men and my chances of a relat…

I was a wife once. Now I’m an ex-wife. But I agree. Marriage is tough. But it should not be depressing, suicidal or one sided. Yes- there are days and periods of time when one carries the weight, but that should pass. If it doesn’t or it FEELS like it doesn’t- then someone is being selfish. Women can be just as guilty of being selfish and everything bad as men. Sadly, it sounds like OP (and others here)- it’s time to call a divorce lawyer or your wife needs to wake up. I’m sorry. Truly. I just happened to read your post- yes, I’m a woman, but I wanted to let you know you have a full life a head of you. My ex-husband and I met when he was 36. We had our daughter when he was 38, our son when he was 40, our youngest son when he was 44. His first affair when he was 44, his second affair when he was 50, our divorce when he was 51 and his second marriage to the love of his life at 51. He’s currently 54 and absolutely loving life. He has three biological kids and two or three stepkids…

I’m a woman …. I concur. I saw the signs. I read the sentences. I had a dream. And I still married that man. I should not have married him. A phone even went off during our ceremony. I still believe in marriage though. I’d do that with the right man. Good luck to you.

Can you wait until she’s working more? I understand how it is to be in a crummy marriage but…. Got to play the long game. YOU need to cut back on OT (can you get paid under the table) SHE needs to start working more and more. What’s her degree in? I’m sorry it’s going this way for you, but plot it out and take your time. Or you could screw yourself.
/r/Divorce_Men23/03/25 05:42 AM

Well she sounds absolutely lovely. (100% sarcastic here). I suspect your child will unfortunately call more than one man stepdad. It’ll be super important that you are stable and supportive. I hope you seek therapy, it can be difficult dealing with ex’s -even after the fact.
/r/Divorce_Men23/03/25 04:58 AM

OP- your child is WAY more important than your exwife or her distraction. Your divorce was not even THREE moths ago. Holy cow. Was your divorce proceedings strung out? The lady barely had any time to wash her undies. You are relearning you and your son is learning what it’s like to have dad without mom around. Have LOTS of fun with him. How old is he? Don’t forget- kids will act one way for mom; another for dad. Ex, my boys will tell me when they’re not feeling well, but not their dad (or his wi…

Guardian ad listems can be requested by either party if requested. If one is concerned about the welfare of the children, I doubt a Judge would block the request, especially if a parent mak s a big enough fuss over the children not getting to school…. A good attorney could argue for one in almost any case and this is a good example.
/r/Divorce_Men20/03/25 12:51 PM

Sounds like you need an attorney that speaks up for you more. Orrrrr- guardian ad lid em or whatever they’re called. Which state?

Do not- DO NOT give it to the next gal. Unless you hate her. Sell it. Pawn it. Curse it. Bury it. Lose it. But no- don’t give it to your next love.

No one is worth the manipulation and mindless ting yang. Find your peace and pursue it.

Wait.. what? She’ll have to buy you out of your side of the house. Maybe the car too. Can she work? Does she make more than you? Kids in preschool? Depending on the state (I’m in Texas)… she just shouldn’t “get” anything cause she had the label of “wife.” Gotta stand up for yourself. (I’m an ex-wife btw. Not all of us are awful creatures. But I acknowledge they exist)

She’s checked out.

I’m an ex- wife. She’s guilt tripping you. Is she in therapy for and by herself? My ex and I made it through a few sessions but I knew that him banging his assistant would hurt less than his mental games and once I told the therapist that- he declared us “non salvageable.” No amount of therapy would fix us and me putting my feet down made him mad, but not as mad as serving him papers. Just serve the papers. Don’t wait.

How long have you been married? How long were you with Ms. Sickey? How long between Ms. Sickey and married to the doc?

Disclaimer: I’m a woman. Do NOT let her pass on any of her bankruptcy stuff onto you. She’s checked out. You sure there’s no new man? Get an attorney. Sleep in different rooms. Start therapy and start a hobby. She needs to get a job and get out of your life.
/r/Divorce_Men23/02/25 02:43 AM

Not a man, but you can’t save this marriage. She used you from the get go. Sad to say- she does not want those vows, that ring or the man that gave her both. Divorce her and marry me. Lol.

As a divorced mom- she pulled a shit move. My ex does this to me and I’m usually so caught up trying to not be hurt that I forget my kids have said similar things to me about them preferring my house vs their dad’s. Shake it off OP. She’s playing games.
