I'm personally reading 'How to Succeed with Women,' and it shows some help on the social front. The main thing about talking to people in general, much less women, is just to start talking.

Here's something I got out of my(18M) small amount of experience: Much of finding a romantic interest, and making a good connection, is like finding a new friend, but you escalate on the romantic interest. Just start by finding new friends. Reflect on the hobbies you already have, what you want to try, and where you know you can find those things. Just start talking.

Been a few days since I posted that. She 'didn't know' it was a date (that's a load of bull. I was obvious, and I even said my intentions), and she pulled the bf card (I didn't know she had a boyfriend. Not my fault). I was probably some potential side guy until her bf found out. I'm worth more than that! Moving on. Onto the next one!

The goal of doing it was to gauge a reaction. If she seems uncomfortable, move away and resume normal conversation.

I knew what a Kinder egg was for a few years now, and I thought it was a good comparison.

Oh it took me MAJOR BALLS to do it. I was NERVOUS, but it kinda worked, so yeah.

I'm emotional, despite trying to look logical. I think I can shed the logical facade now. I'm a romantic at heart.

Guy. I consider myself a 'hopeless romantic' type.

That's what I'm thinking. I'll escalate if I think she is more comfortable. She'll tell me if otherwise.

Yeah. It's probably the way I worded it.

I know. I was just gauging her reaction. I'm being careful.

She was smiling and chuckling as she said it, and she isn't one to randomly grab someone. I was just gauging her reaction, and it seems to be met mostly well. To add something, this is a classroom. PDA rules here are enforced heavily.

She sits in the back if the room, and we're allowed to sit anywhere when we aren't singing. I sat there, and strummed up conversation. I then asked if she wanted to get ice cream, and she accepted. As I was writing my number, I asked if it can be a 'date' date, and she happily accepted.

I never did something like that before, so it actually working is a happy surprise for me! Thank you!

We go on our first date sometime next week. I'll try to keep gauging her responses, and assure her it's fine to be vulnerable with me. She just seems like someone that needs to open up. Thank you for your kind words!

The best thing I can do is to try different environments. For confidence, take your friends to a bar as a DD, and look around for any wondering eyes (I'm thinking you're around 21). It's best to stay off subs like offensivememes, or any political subreddit, where you can inadvertently become toxic by exposure (I'm thinking your comments are satiric), and try to take up some other hobbies to fill that time (I play MTG and Warhammer particularly). If someone catches your eye, go to them and talk, …
