You CAN’T have it all, that’s a feminist myth I had assumed we would have gotten over by now. And NOBODY can have all, the men not doing the “unpaid labor” or whatever mealymouth nonsense she was spewing don’t have it all either. And if what they have up for their sport was so easy to forgo, she wouldn’t have a tough time making the decisions she has, would she?

Funny, I never taught my daughter not to be a manipulative slut because I was busy teaching her to be an actual good person. Who knew, all I really had to do was say “don’t be like THOSE women” and I could have saved a lot of time and effort.

True. But if the conversation is “wow, men have it bad because they’re not like women so we need to fix that!” I don’t really see it as productive. There’s a video somewhere about a woman who came out as a lesbian and started dating women, which made her realize what a pain in the ass women can be. I found that added fat more to the conversation than this ever could.

Of course those are his motivations. I didn’t see him stepping down so the company could have a female CEO. If he truly believed all of that it would have been the first and last step he’d have to take towards “equity”.

It made me feel bad for the few women that actually DID bust ass to be in those positions. He completely invalidated their competency, while simultaneously telling the men that they may as well give up now, they won’t be considered anymore. It’s an all around a phenomenally stupid stand to take, I cannot comprehend why so many think it is a good thing and completely reasonable.

As a woman I have no idea why men would be threatened that women are “being liberated”. From what?? As a woman pushing 50, I have been liberated my entire life. Nothing has been denied me if I actually wanted to go after it and work for it. Hell, I have the “liberation” and the tons of advantages that come with still being considered a protected member of society. Women in the western world today are probably the most privileged humans to ever walk the earth.

Pre-covid I worked for Live Nation. In a company wide conference call Rapino actually said that they were desperate for “young women” to hire as bookers/promoters. Not even just women, young women. And it was so blatant it was actually said out loud. Because ageism and sexism is ok when it comes to some groups, but not others. Amazingly, (or not) I was the only one that even thought that was bizarrely inappropriate. Nobody I know even noticed.
