There's a fancy hotel in my city that does an afternoon tea service with the tiny tea cups, fancy china, little finger sandwiches on a tiered tray, it would be an absolutely lovely date! Maybe I will take my mom sometime soon :)

Yeah, I’ve been assaulted on dates 🤷‍♀️ so there’s that to “lose”... I also don’t get the accusations of women going out with men just to get a free dinner as I’d rather eat a microwave meal than sit for two hours with an asshole. I only go out with men I like!

I love this show! (Dead to me) The female friendship is so sweet and sorely lacking from TV shows! .

I swear by the video chat as a first meet! There's a post in the handbook on why they are important and how to get the most out of them. I used to do it pre-pandemic, so I guess I was a bit ahead of the trend because many of the guys I talked to had experienced going on video dates before. These days, we are all using video calls a lot, so it really shouldn't be unexpected or the first time they've ever used Facetime/Skype/Zoom. I've had men not want to do it, but the ONE TIME I let the standard…

My advice: Wear your gear and learn to fall properly on skates. I had a skating fall a couple years ago and broke my wrist. (It sucked!)

Oh stained glass ! 😻 For art hobbies I do soap making, sewing, dance classes (STEEZY online), and just started embroidery. Also into interior design so I’m always thinking of a new diy project for my space. I love motorsports too (Formula 1, Moto GP) and I ride a motorcycle for fun. So I enjoy learning about mechanics for bikes and cars.

I've been in AA since 2016 and this is sadly so true :( part of the problem is that it is VERY hard to kick someone out, since the principles behind the group pretty much make that impossible and I do find other men turn a blind eye even if they don't do it themselves. Whenever I see new women at meetings I pounce on them, get them support, and pretty much tell them not to talk to any of the men. There's even a slang name for the predatory behavior : "13th step"-ing

I’m in Canada and everything is open with restrictions. You can even go skydiving.... I was dating last month but stopped now. I did a video call to vet and then my expectation was a decent dinner date, could be outdoor patio if available. Same expectations as before COVID. I read in another post to remember that if a man is ok with meeting up with strangers (not just you, he’s probably meeting as many women as possible) for the possibility of having sex, then it is not a stretch to expect him t…

I’ve always found that if I had to negotiate a better offer, even if I ended up getting it, it never was worth it in the end and usually just resulted in a ghosting after two dates (presumably because he realized that I wasn’t going to be having sex with him for a while).

I saved the post about ghosting that was posted this week, it really spoke to me. Read it if you haven't yet! A few weeks ago I had a ghosting and it completely wrecked my emotions. Logically, I knew I wasn't emotionally involved but I think it was mostly hormonal. I decided to completely take a break from dating until I've achieved some of my career goals since it is just too distracting right now. Would rather just be even keeled!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
