Oh don't I know it brother. I couldn't believe my ears when I heard it myself Not to mention a vast majority of the laundry was hers

My last relationship was like this. And then she had the audacity to tell me that SHE was unappreciated around the house. I paid all the bills, did all the repairs, all the outside work, any construction was on me both monetarily and physical work wise, and I helped around the household chores. Admittedly mostly the laundry and cooking was her domain, but I thanked her nearly every time she put a plate in front of me. I called her out on her hypocrisy and well... I'm single now

No doubt you should support your partner, but is the expectation really to elevate them over your own blood and family who has contributed far greater to your life than your partner? At least as we understand in this instance

So? It's putting your mother over your wife not acceptable? Honestly asking not trying to be a dick here. I think it's reasonable for the person who birthed and raised you to be put ahead of someone who clearly didn't care about OPs feelings on some joint matters.

Didn't Will Ferrell just make a speech about how it's women's turn to run things? He is part of the problem. Flip flopping idiot. And I'm a fan of a lot of good work

Okay but when do we decide that the people that CHOSE to engage him in the discussion he was clearly prepared to have are at fault? They decided through their own free will that they were prepared and passionate enough about the topic to have a full blown debate and then subsequently are shown the error of their ways. I don't know why there is such a problem with personal accountability these days... Everyone is a victim and everyone needs to be protected...

Please explain to me how this particular example is anything more than common sense? How could one be unprepared?

This is dead on. Social media makes everyone think their opinions matter because they've had nothing but reinforcement in their echo chambers. Real life is a big slap of reality sometimes and I always love to see it. Too bad she'll go on to tell her story of martyrdom

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
