LA is the home to the worlds greatest divorce attorneys. Do what I did - yelp and google reviews. You may have to interview a few - the larger firms will have the partner talk to you and then hand you off to a junior lawyer under their supervision, which is actually cheaper. Other firms will have the main principal lawyer manage your case - more expensive. Mine is $450 an hour, she handles everything herself with her paralegal. She's not the fastest, but she's outstanding; You just have to take …

Getting to the point that you're not thinking of her every minute of every day is a big milestone for sure. I'm finally able to focus on trying to build MY life, and I'm loving it. Putting her in the rear view mirror is a big deal.

Awful human beings use the children as weapons. Awful human beings disregard all your life long work to be a good husband and father, and they turn the kids against you. That's the thing I've learned about this - I would just NEVER do that under the same circumstances, because the kids have their lives even after the marriage ends. But here we are. Women are far more vicious and hurtful then men... (based on a pole of the 4 friends of mine who are going through or have gone through a divorce)

Divorce is not for the weak, that's for sure. If you're gonna go down the road, get ready. It fucks with you in ways you never thought possible. BUT... You DO turn the corner, and I'm finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.

My god yes. As if we haven't hurt each other enough already. She went through a stretch where she was just texting me the most random hurtful things, and because one of my daughters isn't speaking to me, she makes sure to tell me all the things I'm "missing out on". The worst thing is that she justifies anything she does as "protecting the family", even though I was father of the year for 25 years. And she knows me so well she knows what's going absolutely destroy me, and she goes straight for i…

For sure. It's very hard. For a long time, I was doing ok until she would text - then my heart would stop. Not OK. It's like escaping prison, and then sitting at a diner eating pancakes and you look over and see the sheriff giving you the side eye...

Very true. It's not great though, because after 3 times at their house, they want to invite you to their family bbq. I'm literally leaving a trail of heartache all over Southern California, because as soon as they literally want ANYTHING from me, I'm gone. I'm really starting to think I need to get more comfortable with being by myself. I love the sex, but for most women, it doesn't stop there. And that's where I just can't deal.

9 months in to divorce, and two lessons I've learned: Being nice doesn't mean shit. She won't go easier on you, she won't be more amicable, she won't take a lower settlement, she won't say nice things about you to the kids. Grey rock that shit if you're coming out of an emotionally abusive relationship. For 6 months I kept responding to her texts, helping with the credit cards, and engaging with her weird night texts about what a piece of shit I am. I realized she is literally kryptonite to me -…
