True, but if it were a continual occurence then there is an actual case for the police to handle with supporting evidence easily obtainable. A one off, fairly inoccuous happening doesn't need to involve police or the Government.

If it get thats far then there are already laws in place, it doesn't need additional ones to protect people's feelings. I'm talking about minor discrepancies here, obviously it's up to the individual to assess the threat level they are under in which case they would hopefully react sensibly, but immediately calling authorities because someone said or implied something you don't like strikes me as over the top and a waste of resources. Jesus, when will people realise the world is an inherently offensive place? You don't go through life without some sort of conflict towards you or someone you know so how can you expect the Government to protect you from all these "attacks"?
