The only time to take the counter offer is when your employer is just countering an advert. "Hey, boss, I really want to stay here, but look how much they're offering for the same job in Podunk. Well, maybe it's a different state or different judges, but the lawyer I spoke to felt he could successfully argue that it was not community property. And yes, her name was on the deed. Maybe it's because the entire downpayment came from my inheritance?

I had a similar experience with using an inheritance for a downpayment mid-marriage. My lawyer believes we can take that downpayment out of community property. In my case, it was deposited into a separate account until it became a downpayment.

My ex gets a percentage of my pension Was she able to collect that before you retired? She also got 1/2 of my 401k Same question I don’t pay any alimony on top of this. How did that happen? My wife will be getting a wheelbarrow of cash and my lawyer says to expect to pay support.

I will never let my kids call my wife's AP "step-dad." When they're little, you got a right to tell them not to call him step-dad. they will never be allowed to call him anything other than "Mom's Affair Partner." This here is toxic as fuck. That's bad for your kids and bad for your own mental health. Just tell the kids to call him "Bob" or whatever.

7 years of her lying about finances and racking up a lot of debt. I love my wife, but I need to get her out of my life until she fixes her mental issues. Which include spending weird. Lawyer suggested a separation to severe her finances from mine. If she gets her head straight, we can live together. But we're never having our finances mixed again.
