True, thank you.

Not really, I'd be bragging if I told you wrestling got me hella plates. It doesn't, but I've been practicing approaching for a month and half now.

That's the thing: it hasn't improved my confidence at all.

But where's the champagne? I wait two years doing something I hate, to then do it at a higher level.

I'm worried the stuff I love will make me lose SMV, since it's nerdy shit.

I probably wouldn't care enough to do anything. That's how much I hate it.

I'm in JV, you can't become varsity and wrestle older guys until junior year. I don't want to wait 2 years doing boring shit I hate.

It's the opposite: I'm bored because it isn't a challenge. I'm beating every other freshman in my weight class easily, and my coach won't let me move up. It's easy as shit.

I see. Seems like he has a bad rep on the sub.

Don't listen to which one? u/neverquitman or u/vandaalen?

Oh. Is it possible to still break into the popular jock clique doing nerdy shit?

I mean, I hate competing, but I love winning. My goal was really just to improve frame and SMV. Getting a scholarship sounds nice, but I'm not sure I can do 4 years of high school and then 4 years of college. My coach is really good, though. What I'm struggling with is that I have a golden opportunity: good coach, team that has won state last year, and if I do say so myself, talent. Not sure if talent will get me good enough to actually be recruited. I'm leaning towards quitting.

Why do it over things I love?

2 reasons: 1) Incredibly easy and boring. Freshmen only fight freshmen in their weight class. I easily beat everyone else, but I don't really enjoy it because it's boring. It prevents me from doing stuff I actually like like Model UN and newspaper.

Username doesn't check out. Lol. But the stuff I love is nerdy and won't get me any girls.

Now my search history has 'Nadal Shirtless' in it, lol.

It isn't just that other people will think I'm beta, I just think that being surrounded by betas and hot being able to get big will make me a beta.

I mean, the stereotype is just part of it. Let's say I play tennis. Besides being percieved as some as beta this happens: I'm surrounded by mostly betas Tennis undoes the effects of lifting because of intense cardio. So not only will I be percieved as one, I'll be more likely to become one, I think.

Objectively, yeah, but from the standpoint of my school subjectively, no. Our basketball and wrestling programs are nothing special, but our soccer team wins state literally every year. So, our soccer players get respect and chicks. Our basketball and wrestling team? Not that many people care.

Really? Most track/xc girls at my school are pretty skinny.

Definitely, and just volleyball in general as well.

Yeah, but lifting isn't an extracurricular activity to put on a college resume. The major pros for tennis are: Very good at it Very fun Good for meeting people Looks good for colleges Cons Most tennis players are nerdy Nobody cares about tennis Interferes with liftinf

Thoughts?
/r/askTRP25/09/18 02:28 AM

True. But one big problem of tennis is that even though I do lift, tennis isn't conducive to getting big.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
