Your post is tagged as debate. Anyone disagreeing with you can reply. This is going to be a shocker to the blk pill and red pill people who seem to believe we’re in a dark ages for romantic relationships but Case in point, one can believe "we’re in a dark ages for romantic relationships" and not be Red or Black pill. Why exclude them from the conversation?

I don't think views about marriage and dating are homogenous in Red/Black Pill communities. The "factual" description of relationships formation and dynamics is, but normative views and prescriptions are not. But even if I granted you that point, the person you replied to is flaired as "Some Secret Mystery Pill Man". Allow them to have their own opinions. Edit: typos

You only included stats about marriage though. What counts as a relationship? I think that's (part) of their point.

That's kinda sad tbh. I couldn't be with someone that 'get' none of mine.

these are hard concepts for children I disagree. Children get these things quite easily. It is adults that like to insist on just world fallacies.

Throughout history That is not factually true. Dating as we know it and marriage for love are recent inventions.

So I don't know Bumble, but I assume you have a profile in there where you can state your interest, hobbies and let some of your personality shine. If you do, getting detailed messages is not that hard. You just have to have enough hooks in there for that to happen.

The hypocrisy of you assuming how others use of 'respect' while being annoyed when it's done to you is astounding. "but men's idea of respect is hierarchical in nature" You even keep going. Can't make this up.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/26 05:36 PM

It means she’s willing to tolerate it. Isn't this addressed there?: look at you being bothered that he's lying to get sex and not being bothered that she is lying that she wants sex. If it's all liars in the end, it doesn't matter at that point. They all play a game, one win and one loses.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 06:33 PM

It's more than money. Especially if you have enough of it. You can never get time back, every second wasted is gone forever.

Confident people don’t rely on external validation. is off topic. The discussion was about social perception and whether confidence plus actual skill reliably elicits a positive response from others. The point being made was that, in many cases, it actually elicits a negative response. Your reply doesn’t really address that argument. Also, while confident people may not rely on external validation, almost everyone relies on social perception. If you’re perceived as arrogant and therefore unfit f…

Tbh, I wouldn't call loving someone for their kindness and tenderness more wholesome than loving them for their money. They are both on the same level of something you can hope to directly benefit from and not something you just happen to appreciate even if they could be to your detriment.

I think vast majority of men that "don't want to get married" just don't want to marry HER specifically. What do we mean by "don't want" here? For many men, marriage in itself is a neutral or negative. For many it's a social expectation that come with some not so pleasant duties and financial costs (Look up traditional wedding/requirements in many Asian and African countries). In the West, you have the distinct impression (real or otherwise) that the institution benefit women more and there you …

And for these guys, your comments are fair I guess but I don't think there are that many (even in sub). Note that: "i provide so she has to put out" is clearly transactional but the other comment could be ok depending on context. Anyway, I think we mostly agree on the substance of the issue.

I have yet to meet a person (even on reddit) who believe that letting a man pay for a coffee makes a woman a gold digger. On the other hand, there are social expectations that men pay for dates in many place and these expectations have been abused by small minority of women to go to restaurant or others activities for free with men they never had any interest in. Experiencing this just once, or hearing about it from a friend will put someone's guard up. From there, the problem is not that every …

Its also funny to me how many men on here are constantly going on about gold diggers but have no issues paying for it anyway. It doesn't make sense how you can demonise women that want your money and you arent really desired and then turn around and go spend money freely and dont be desired. If women want to have your money you are against it but if you want to give them money you are suddenly all for it? It doesn't make sense. It's pretty simple. Friendships and other voluntary relationships ar…

ting the pro-life movement directly connects to men’s rights. In it itself it doesn't but electing those that support/are part of it may get some men other things that they want such as conservatives policies. If they are indifferent towards the rights of women, there are no reasons not to vote for these people.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/08/25 07:48 PM
2

You can vote because your care for some issues and not other. Let's say the choice is between A) getting something one want + you getting killed Or B) getting something one does not want. That person could chose option A) by indifference towards your life or death without holding any kind of malice towards you. That's why some say the opposite of Love is indifference.

I actually took the the time to look all five of your links. "Are you cheating?" is not a loaded question because it doesn't presuppose that you did anything. It is not like "what was the weather like when you cheated on me?" which does contain the assumption that cheating occurred at least once and seeks further information based on that assumption. Your second link flew over my head. Not my type of science so I cannot fairly assess whether it support your claim that "Are you cheating?" is an a…

you’re intentionally being insulting by insinuating that I’m not as smart as she is If you cannot grasp that concept you likely are not. I do enjoy the burn though which negates pretty much the rest of your answer. The real problem here is when feelings prevents you from looking at things objectively and/or you let them guide your actions unquestioned. it ends up coming off as an accusation (and an offensive one at that). What does "coming off" means here? We are talking about peoples feelings and not 1st order facts right? That's precisely the point.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 09:36 PM
0

No. The problem here is that your are confusing feelings about 1st order facts with those facts themselves. Seeking objective knowledge about whether someone did or did not do something is not the same as accusing them of doing that thing. It's not even difficult to understand. I could probably explain it to my 4 year old niece.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 09:32 PM

The two statements are not actually not contradictory. It could very well be that a) College education only decreases the chances of your spouse leaving you if you’re marrying a man. And b) College-educated women are far more likely to remain married long-term than women with only a high school education.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/24 08:18 PM

Also wouldn’t expect her to pay child support or be in the child’s life whatsoever. Why not? Do you also oppose child support in case someone does not want to be a father?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/24 04:29 PM

And if you're still going to do it, then you just have to own the dysfunction that comes with it. Trying to push a cultural conversation into insulating you from the social costs of undermining the foundation of your life long commitment is a waste of time. I don't see why that would be the case. Plenty of social norms got changed. not so long ago Obama opposed gay marriage...

Disagreed. Realising you don't know things is the first step to knowledge. Furthermore, the upper bound could already be so low that the OP decides it is not realistic without having to "run the experiment" all the way. Finally, it is possible to obtain estimates (educated guesses) by making assumptions/models that you could calibrate/validate using data from previous generations. Plenty of things to be done.

You don't have to make any assumptions. Stick to facts. You do not know until they are dead. Edit to add: You do actually know for the one that broke up so you can get un upper bound.

It is not enough that they stay together. They have to do so until one of them is dead. Unless you are very old you cannot juge how likely that is within your generation.

That is not what trust is. Trust is a statement of belief and most people do make a difference between things they believe and things they know. Most mathematicians believe the ZFC axiomatic to be consistent but they know they don't know that. If belief could be changed to knowledge most would take the plunge in heart beat. These two categories are not the same and this is not how trust work. Trust in essence is an assumption, not knowledge. That's how this work for me and many whom I know. Mayb…

That is actually not true. There is this thing called Bayesian inference that makes better and better statistical predictions on a given object/subject as data about them accumulate. Now, if the information given by "past promiscuity" is enough to bring the risk level past what someone is confortable with, that is fine. At the end of the day, men in general would probably benefit from being more selective in matters of dating and the filter proposed by the OP is not a bad one.

nothing negative can come from being less ignorant This statement does not hold in reality. Knowledge is power and plenty of things can go wrong once people get it see e.g. WW1&2 made entirely possible by advance in science. Without going to extremes though, most people are meant to die. Spending time learning anything comes at an opportunity cost. What you should demonstrate is this cost is lower than doing whatever activities they proposed.

If ones (a priori) standards are such that they avoid most things that could make them happy, they are fair game to criticize. Additionally, happiness is for the most part an exerc…

1) Like motherhood, fatherhood is also a social construct. 2) The scenario you describe above plays out legally actually. Some discover their is no genetic filiation between them and their children. Just because two people created a child doesn't necessarily mean it's "theirs". Some people indeed argue that children belong to society as a whole and that they should be taken care of and parented by the state. This would reduce inequalities (and racism) and lead to a fairer society while also abolishing parenthood altogether. In all the examples I have given, there are always people responsible for the kid. No society that I know of believes/believed it fine to leave babies to die. The questi…

Where would these “places” be? Canada, (at least some parts of) the US, France, Austria, just to name a few. Fatherhood being a social construct does not mean fathers have no value. Motherhood is also a social construct.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/22 12:24 AM
2

Finally, we are making some progress! (Yay to that last paragraph). Filiation in general is a social construct. This applies to motherhood too. In some places, children's are/were primarily their fathers and motherhood can be revoked on case of divorce. Similarly, marrying a man with children makes one their mothers. So, it can cut anyway. The question is what strikes the most balance between fairness and the "global good". I don't think the recently overturned status-quo in the US was anywhere …

Everything can be confirmed by a research on Google scholar (sociology, anthropology). Filiation (including fatherhood) is largely a social construct. The only part that is not is genetic filiation.

"In many places, you can't become a father if the child is the result of an affair with a married woman" That's the point. Also by that line of thoughts, should mothers that took part in activities detrimental to the child after its conception (smoking, drinking, etc) be prosecuted?. As long as the child is born it should hold right?

/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/22 11:46 PM

The point about how a biological father can be denied fatherhood. Why do you think the biological father in particular should be responsible? In other societies, the mother's family (uncles, aunts, grandparents) are responsible for the upbringing of the children
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/22 11:41 PM
1

Fatherhood and male genetic filiation are not the same thing. Adoption and sperm donation do not guarantee that children will be well cared for either. No, the fact you think genetic filiation should entail responsibilities is in large part a result of social conditinoing. Other cultures, times etc view the matter differently. Just do a Google search, you may learn something.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/22 11:30 PM
3

Who decides that? Are sperm donors bound by these duties? Why not? Should adoption be banned ? Not, that you did not address my previous point either. Not only can fatherhood be imposed, it can also be denied to the willing.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/22 11:22 PM
2

Is a sperm donor a deadbeat? If you adopt someone are they not your children? How does fatherhood works outside of the western world, e.g. in matrilineal societies? Tbf, you seem uneducated on this topic.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/22 11:16 PM
3

The problem is not that women have complete control over reproduction but that the consequences of their reproductive choices are forced onto others via fatherhood and other social constructs. In matrilineal cultures -e.g. where the mother's brothers are more me important than the father- things are quite different.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/22 11:03 PM
2

Fatherhood and filiation in general are (mostly) social constructs that varies with time places and societies. Since the concept can and has evolved, your point is bit very persuasive. E.g. In many places, you can't become a father if the child is the result of an affair with a married woman (without consent from the husband).

The line is when they legally recognised the child as theirs.

Knowing that the "father" would not support the child may lead some to rethink their choice and abort after all. That's what I meant. This is not comparable to abstinence or to the use of contraceptive.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/22 09:19 AM

It's a privilege when other people need to clean up your actions and you face no punishment whatsoever.

If that's the message then, it does seem outside of the topic which is about the benefits of marriage to men. Without elaboration your point is irrelevant as it fails to show marriage is a clear benefit.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/22 09:06 AM
1

Let's (over)simplify it like this: What I think you said: "Marriage is a deterministic deal that makes you happier". What was added: "Marriage is coin toss, if you win you could be happier if you lose (divorce) you are left unhappier". Since divorced men are counted as single you are screwing the cost/benefit analysis of marriage by looking only at positive outcomes. Not that this is not my point, I am merely paraphrasing "PPDenthusiast" reply. Another way to challenge is to note that correlatio…

It's not too complicated really. You take a person and look at what percentage of their target population (opposite sex, same sex, both, depending on orientation) find them attractive/wants to date them. That's their grade and is a well defined measure of their attractiveness which can be used to get the top x%.

He believes the past matters and acts accordingly. Seems pretty straightforward.

No you don't get to do that. Ever talked to someone that suffers from severe PTSD ? Or even adults that got bitten by e.g. dogs as infant ? The trauma stays (even when the original event is forgotten) regardless of what they want or decide.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/22 05:47 AM

That's not. Trauma you don't even remember may heavily influence your life just like events that were not experienced as traumatic may influence future behaviour.

There is a continuum between 2.a and 2.b. I'm not saying you should never talk to him again. I am saying you should enforce enough boundaries so as to not suffer necessarily. For some people that means the friendship as to die at the opposite end of the spectrum some take things in stride. It's up to you to judge what works best for you but remember to be kind to yourself.

I don't know, when I was studying at the university this kind of stuff happened. It was playing cards, chatting and making plans to change the worlds bu fundamentally it's not that different from what OP is saying happened. That's being said, it's another culture and another time so I may be missjudging things. At the end of the day, the most important thing is that she should get her agency back because the current situation is clearly not working for her.

Would it be possible that he just sees you as his best friend ? I feel like most of this stuff is happening in your head because you now like him and are passively passive. Your options are 1) Go for what you want but understand it may nuke the friendship / friends dynamics. 2.a) Let it go and continue business as usual. I don't recommend it given your post. 2.b) Let it go and dial down/cut the friendship off. 3) Continue to wait for signs in the sky and let your mind (and perhaps him ?) torture…

I try, but he's very tight lipped about a lot of what goes on in his life Not a good sign imo. It's seems like the emotional connection is pretty weak and combined with your reply to u/KaraZorElf the overall picture is not pretty... Yeah no. You don't become a monk (red pill or otherwise) Because you feel you failed at life. You are afraid of being alone but quite frankly, you should be afraid of being in a relationship as your or current mindset set you up as ideal target for abusers. Have some courage and do the hard work. Learn to socialize, learn to communicate, find some self love and go do something productive with your life.
