Think it’s too early for pitchforks. The article has almost no more information than she was arrested and posted 2.5k bail. That’s it.

We're not allowed to talk about it. Kinda makes recruiting harder though.

I will say that your instinct to pull your punches were a correct judgement being that you felt that this opponent was much less experienced than you and your "pulling of punches" were definitely the correct response when you confirmed it but I say there would've been a better way of handling the situation. This is a class so if you feel you have greater experience than your partner (which you say you had a gut feeling of) then you are better off treating it like a training match instead of a sp…

"The Harris County Sheriff's department says it is getting closer to wrapping up the investigation. All four people involved in the altercation have been interviewed. Once the investigation is complete, the case will be turned over to a grand jury to determine what, if any charges will be filed in the case." Don't be Texas...don't be Texas...damn it's Texas.

That ending- "I don't wanna do this [violent behavior] because in the end, it's the kids that pay for it" from the dad.

...the reason I know about it is that I did ask. However, most NEW teachers, even veteran teachers, aren't 100% in control of themselves all the time. Instinct and impulses can kick in and before you know it, you have a kid in a choke hold.... But seriously, there are a lot of problems in public schools concerning discipline.

This is the correct answer. If you touch the kid, there is a good chance of you losing your job and being prosecuted for child abuse. Some self defense is allowed but most teachers don't know exactly what as only the administrators are taught that (in my district at least).

The way they are raised is to become thieves. It's like a cult sin or cultural taboo to stray from the path their parents have set for them or merely showed them (some gypsy children are not taught but merely imitate the adults around them). Should they try to change, they would be shunned and cut off from their family who often refuse to change as they don't know or don't care why they should change (lack of education, laziness, and tradition are big factors here).

To be fair as well, if you bait the bear, don't be surprised when he breaks his chains and claws your face.

While this description has a few annoying reporter opinions, it at least has some context to the story. Description also leaves me to think that she did get some sort of pass/pity.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
