Let DownI had a few friends get divorced prior to my divorce. Once I went through it, all I could think is that I should have reached out more to my friends when they were going through it. I just didn’t realize how painful it was until I experienced it. I probably didn’t know what to say or even if my friends wanted to talk about. Be proactive if there are 1-2 guys you are close with. I’ve reached out when I needed advice or just to make sure I had my head on straight about how I was thinking about thi… | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/01/24 04:38 AM
Does anybody feel like they are drifting away from their kids?I feel this comment so much. The lying, cheating, and nasty messages I have gotten from my ex-wife mean nothing compared to the time away from my kids that she has stolen. Luckily I have 50/50 but I am forced to pay so much alimony that she doesn’t have to work and I have to work my ass off every day all while getting messages from her about how horrible she thinks I am. I’m not against alimony but I am against paying so much that my cheating ex doesn’t have to lift a finger. She just gets to go… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/09/23 01:02 AM
She cheated but won’t sign papers unless I say I want a divorce.That’s actually pretty funny. | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/05/23 03:02 PM
Every step gets worseSame situation. I have 50/50 and pay my ex even more per month than you and she refuses to work and then tells me that I am not doing enough for our kids and she should have more custody. This is all while she is basically living with the guys she had an affair with. I’m actually not against alimony but it shouldn’t be so much that the person receiving doesn’t have to work. System is terrible and is beyond frustrating. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/05/23 08:45 AM
One day after taking 1.5 extra bedtimes stbxw gave me every bedtimeIve heard this over and over from my Ex on why I should be giving her more custody. Didn’t seem that way when she was leaving our house with the kids crying for her to stay, so she could sleep at her affair partners house. Just when she thinks she deserves more custody because she was a SAHM. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/05/23 08:02 AM
Has anyone here had their ex come back in any way? It’s not easy. It was painful with me questioning myself everyday because I love my kids so much but ultimately, I couldn’t trust her. I had in the back of my mind that she was potentially just stalling so she could live off my dime longer. That to me proved that I could never trust her again because if I’m questioning this, then I would be questioning every time she went somewhere or did something alone or with “friends”. For me I just couldn’t live without the trust. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/05/23 12:27 AM
Has anyone here had their ex come back in any way?Mine did a version of this. She had an affair and ended the marriage. When the divorce paper signing day got near, she started texting me that we should have a family picnic with the kids and if we go through with the divorce, it’s because it’s “what I wanted” while she was still dating her affair partner. I attribute it to them realizing that it’s actually real and losing a sense of security they thought would continue to beg for them back. I would just text back that “we have to continue to mo… | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/05/23 11:53 PM
Anyone else’s wife lose her mind after kids?Damn. This is exactly to the tee what I experienced. All the way down to the workout/gym attention after the 2nd baby. Then she gets an affair partner. I could never do enough. Work full time w great income while she stays home. Helped with kids, cleaned. I wasn’t perfect but I was a good husband & great Dad. I think she has BPD & just needed attention at all times. Glad I’m not the only one but wouldn’t wish it upon anyone. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/05/23 05:43 AM
I truly don't understand how so many of you can have amicable divorces.“It seems like there should be more people screaming to God for their marriage back like I do” I am not very religious but I was at your point where I had begged my wife to come back, had the sleepless nights and the complete sadness that my now ex-wife was breaking apart my little girls family for her affair partner. I hit rock bottom and went into a church in the middle of the day…alone…no one else there and got down on my knees and prayed in front of a statue of Mary. I had nowhere else to go… | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/05/23 02:13 AM
Is my frustration with my Ex-wife reasonable?Affair does not negate alimony unless the person who had the affair spends an exorbitant amount of money prior to the divorce on the affair relationship (think lavish vacations) and even then it’s hard to prove. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/05/23 11:37 AM
Is my frustration with my Ex-wife reasonable?Yes but he still has a rental so it would be hard to prove. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/05/23 11:21 AM
Is my frustration with my Ex-wife reasonable?5 years of alimony and another 12-15 of child support. The $6k hurts even on my salary especially with the higher tax bracket but I am still lucky because I know other people who can’t live after alimony & child support. Thanks for taking the time. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/05/23 04:45 AM
