6	MALE ABUSE IN MARRIAGE? WHY AN ABUSIVE WIFE IS NO LAUGHING MATTER This one in particular that I am referencing, seemed to be trying to get me to be violent towards her. The day after one of her silly antics she said “I really thought that was going to make you hit me…” or words to that effect, it was 15ish years ago now. It was a lightbulb moment for me though. Does she get out of control when she’s drinking? A woman who is “wife material” will make you feel safe, like you are the only man in the world (in her eyes) and will do anything in their power to see you happy and empowered to be a good man.
