I understand we all need to make tough decisions. Sometimes you need to just stand up for yourself though.

I see lots of people downvoting this, too scared to stand up for themselves but happy to whinge ad nauseam about it on the internet. FFS stand up for yourselves.

You don’t have to. But do you think that kid deserves a real man to step up in his life?

This one in particular that I am referencing, seemed to be trying to get me to be violent towards her. The day after one of her silly antics she said “I really thought that was going to make you hit me…” or words to that effect, it was 15ish years ago now. It was a lightbulb moment for me though. I just remember thinking ‘this woman doesn’t know me at all and how low does she think I am?’ Basically after that I left and never came back.

I think it’s behavioural and emotional red flags that precede any abuse. Does she randomly act emotionally abusive? Does she get out of control when she’s drinking? A woman who is “wife material” will make you feel safe, like you are the only man in the world (in her eyes) and will do anything in their power to see you happy and empowered to be a good man. Women who have drug problems, can’t handle their alcohol and make you feel anything less than the main man in her life; probably aren’t going…

I’ve had women do things to me that I would easily be spending decades behind bars for doing to a woman. Not my wife, she’s the best, but there are a lot of psychotic women out there that have a ‘rules for me but not for thee’ approach to abuse.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
