OK Cupid is a numbers game. Expect a response rate of 1/5 or so, if you're doing everything right. Never write long first messages. Instead write something simple, short, and hopefully witty/funny, which is tailored to their profile. Definitely move on. Try messaging maybe 5-10 girls in one night, but never obsess over one. And don't spend too much time on there - don't forget there are girls to meet in real life too! check this guide: http://www.reddit.com/r/OkCupid/comments/jfv7g/my_okc_strate…

Talk to everyone. Make small talk throughout your days in order to become more comfortable, whether it's an old man or a hot girl. Similarly, talk to many people at the club/bar, not just girls you're interested in. Try talking to the first group of people you see, right when you walk in. Follow the 3 second rule. The longer you wait after you get the idea to approach, the harder it becomes. Don't over-think your opener; it's not very important. Even a "Hi, how's it going?" is much much better t…

Perhaps consider your venue? You could try a college campus, where everyone is about 18-22. Or, any 18+ event/club, or a 21+ bar.

If your conversations feel that unnatural and uninteresting, maybe they aren't worth having. Is this relationship with your ex really worth maintaining? You could be spending those hours on the phone out meeting new women instead.

I use OK Cupid. What seems to work alright on there is "How's it going? ________" and insert some question about their profile, personality, or picture. Asking a question gives them an easy way to respond... "Hi, I'm so-and-so" generally doesn't get a response. Oh, and your own picture, and to a lesser extent your profile text, matter a LOT. Get a good quality picture of yourself. Don't mention appearance because it makes you seem like a creep, and girls are primarily in "creep-filter" mode whil…

I think it's good to say something contextual... about something she's wearing, where she's going, where you guys are, etc. Be observant and it'll come to you.

I have a suggestion for your sweat problem: see a doctor/dermatologist about getting a prescription antiperspirant. They are common and inexpensive. I had really sweaty armpits ever since puberty, even when I was totally calm and relaxed. I would just sweat all the time, and it definitely affected my confidence. The medicine is just a liquid that you apply to your skin once or twice a week and it works like a charm.

What do you think "matters?" What is a topic that is both "deep" and interests you? For me, these topics are often politics, philosophy, and music theory. Hell, I've even held "deep" conversations with buddies about computer games and the strategy and game theory behind them. Using seduction techniques tends to keep conversation playful and light. If you want to develop deeper connections with people, you have to snap out of that mode, be vulnerable, and be willing to disagree but still respect …

I'm just getting into the online game myself and it's been good reading your reports. Don't take this the wrong way, but it's informative because you don't always do everything right. In general though, you're doing a great job and making big progress. I'm sure you're learning from your mistakes, and take some extra comfort knowing that I (and maybe others) are learning from them too. This B girl sounds like exactly what I'm scared of in an online date. Wants to meet in a non-public place, turns…

I think he's right on this one. Move on to the next girl. BUT, realize that maybe you're not such a newbie if you can get a girl's number so easily :) Also, you say you were flirting and talking to girls all night... maybe you could have had more #-closes there.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
