To summarize that as ‘miscarriage is illegal’ is misleading. To then yell at someone for correctly pointing out that miscarriage is not, in fact, illegal is strange. As for your various conspiracy theories about leftist men: no comment. If I’ve understood correctly, what you mean is ‘Abortion bans in America have led to women dying after being denied care for miscarriage-induced complications’. Surely the gravity of the situation justifies the effort of adding a few more words to explain it prop…

‘I’m glad someone is finally pointing out how unaware people are of female murderers. The assumption that women are helpless and incapable of doing such a thing is literally misogyny.‘

Growing up treated by others like a cockroach for something that you can never change about yourself really lays the perfect psychological foundations to internalize the ‘men are trash’ discourse.

For some reason my brain decided to read ‘Why do men sneeze so loud?’ in the exact tone and cadence of Frankie Lymon’s ‘Why do fools fall in love?’, and it made me laugh.

Seriously? Giving all women a chance is disgusting to these people? Somewhere, in an alternate universe: ‘I saw a man on the bus swiping left on practically every woman. Men are so shallow it’s disgusting.’ It’s like they’ve decided that men are trash and then construe literally anything a man does as proof of that. I give up. There’s no reason, no logic at the bottom of all this - just mindless hate all the way down.

I think most women who have just pointed out an example of misogyny that affects them would be offended by a statement like ‘actually, that’s misandry…’ As for your question - the view, as stated, does not say anything about men, so it could only be (some ‘benevolent’/patronizing form of) misogyny, as far as I understand. If there is a silent corollary like ‘…and men are animals’, then that is what would be the misandristic part.

I bet that what you regard as ‘misogyny harming men’ is what he would regard as misandry harming men. In an alternate universe someone is telling a woman ‘actually the presumption that you’d handle the childcare is not misogyny, it’s misandry based on the belief that men are inferior at it’, and that’s not going over well either.

Personally I don’t use the label because the average person would assume it means I’m a rightwinger. I do call out misandry, but I’m aways careful to label it as simply “sexism”. Leftwingers generally get the point once it’s explained (though they may not personally care). Fortunately the sorts who have a problem with that seem only to be a lunatic fringe, outside of feminist spaces.

Misandrists do wield institutional power (see: rampant anti-male bias in the justice system, or police brutality). And ol’ Adolf did in fact see what he did to the Jews as defensive in nature (in his view they were going to “destroy Germany”, etc etc).

All the usual feminist talking points that boil down to blaming men and exonerating women for anything bad. It’s so “perfect” that I can’t help but wonder if they’re a misandrist woman LARPing as a man. That or a man who’s internalized an ungodly amount of misandry by hanging around feminist spaces.

They side with Amber Heard on that because she was not “caught taunting her victim that nobody would believe him because he’s a man”. Only one side actually provides a way forward by fighting for principles like “equality is good” and “imposing gender roles on people is bad”. While they are shockingly lazy (or loathe) to apply these principles to men, there is nothing stopping us from stepping in and doing it for them. They’ve given us the tools for the job. Meanwhile the other side is a dead-end. There’s nothing to work with there, just a bunch of garbage-in-garbage-out.

It’s mind-boggling how this isn’t simply common sense. Is it that hard to simply address issues as they are? For instance if crime X is rampant, then go after the actual individuals perpetrating that crime. When one instead goes after [insert entire demographic] one simultaneously alienates/dehumanizes innocents in that demographic and downplays or erases perpetrators from other demographics. Both of those consequences are counterproductive to actually addressing crime X. I have never heard any …

Actually this is sexism against women, not against men - which is impossible according to the real definition of sexism - since it infantilizes women as being incapable (in this case, incapable of inflicting harm) which is a patriarchal trope rooted in misogyny. Also the legislators involved in this are mostly men, so men have only themselves to blame yet again. There, that’s my prediction of the top response you’ll get from feminists about this. And that’s why we need our own movement.

/r/EverydayMisandry05/11/24 04:18 AM

No, I’m saying that the comments screenshotted by OP very clearly demonstrate misandry. > Look I'm saying the "both sides" part is bullshit “Real men support Harris!” and “Not a single real man votes for Harris” are two sides of the same coin. Whether one is or is not a man has nothing to do with who they vote for. I will not endorse the use of sexist bullying in support of my favoured candidate. It’s very easy not to be sexist: “any halfway decent human being would choose Harris over Trump”.

Here are the stats for various forms of female-on-male sexual coercion (including assault and rape) taken from a variety of studies. This is far more common than most people would ever guess. The figures are not very different from those for male-on-female cases. The fact that practically zero public discourse on sexual assault and rape even acknowledges female perpetrators is a travesty and a giant middle finger to male victims.

Female-on-male sexual assault and even rape (“forced to penetrate” is rape, with all due respect to the CDC) is not rare whatsoever. I myself was sexually assaulted in broad daylight, by an adult woman, at about age 11 or 12. She laughed at me afterwards. So did her two friends.
