Perhaps you’re only talking about social gatherings, in which case I would agree with you, but what if you approach a stranger walking down the street? What about in a supermarket? I specifically left it out here because preselection is not always possible in every scenario. I specifically remember an instance where I was attending a large extended family dinner at a restaurant when someone prompted him to share some of his childhood shenanigans. By about the third for forth story, our entire table was laughing so hard that the adjacent tables had stopped eating to listen to the stories and the hostess had come to listen as well.
