Being an incel is a state of mind perceived to be a result of losing the genetic lottery and your desirability being entirely outside your control. Since you're aware of the reality that incels have parents, you should be at terms with the idea that an incel can overcome their celibacy by adjusting their approach. Just in the same way, poverty can be overcome.

You're comparing genetics to a state of being primarily determined by your place of birth and societal status of your parents. You can't and won't see the flaw to your own argument.

With hard work, you can rise out of poverty. You're making excuses to sympathize with one of the greatest sob stories of our society's day.

You expect people to be these paragons of patience and virtue at all times in almost any given scenario, when we all know the opposite is true of that. You think everyone just has their proverbial shit together and is this like master of self control and never experiences any kind of upsettedness or frustrations I don't think this, and I'm not sure why you think I do. I've had plenty of frustration in my sexual journey, and I still found love. Well, when you say it's ok for one people to do some…

I wasn't being sarcastic at all. Incels "wipe themselves out" by their own design. Celibacy ensures your lineage will not continue. Being convinced that your celibacy is no fault of your own and nothing you can do short of being handed sex will change that is so obviously self-destructive that it should be no surprise that incels will die off as they fail to find love.

where's the good people? News flash: they aren't settling down with "Chad." They're settling down with average dudes who have their shit together and aren't weeping piles of depression and bitterness because they've convinced themselves that no woman will ever want them. Who would want to be in a relationship with someone like that? Incels need to fix themselves before they can expect to get some puss.

I don't think anyone should be given anything. All those "chad/alpha/player/fuckboi" men are doing something right, whether that's smooth talk, good looks, an irresistible personality, or a combination of these. They aren't sitting at home playing Xbox with a line of women knocking on their door with their panties already dripping waiting for him to finish his Fortnite match. They're working their game, and being rewarded with what they want for it. Even average guys are doing something right to…

I can't tell you how many times being genuine, trying to learn something about a woman, start a conversation, or probe to find a commonality from a profile with a vague/nonexistent bio led me absolutely nowhere or didn't even get a single letter reply. None of my relationships (including my current one) have been from OD and I don't expect to ever get one from OD if I find myself back on the market.

Why do sexually inept and/or celibate people suddenly seem to have so much pull in the way of the world? MGTOW still contribute to society in meaningful ways, but don't participate in the SMP. Incels are usually depressed and bitter people and it wouldn't surprise me if a bitter and depressed person doesn't want to contribute to society. Those kinds of people have always existed and probably always will and the world has always carried on. It would be fantastic to live in a Utopian society where…

6 hours is a floor value for 3 dates. If the dates are going well, they'll last longer (provided the opportunity), especially the second and third date. If by the second date you're starting to run out of topics for conversation or are feeling bored or turned-off, you're probably starting to reconsider the relationship and whether you bother to try for date 3. Assuming you're actually getting to know each other and not just doing activities together that don't leave much room for conversation an…

You don't even know me and from one comment you're making a grand assumption about my worldview. I never said those traits are mutually exclusive. I said they're separated by pill in OP's post to highlight the priorities of the two pills. I don't care about pills; never have, never will.

He/she is talking about the Instagram generation. People who care so much about how many likes and comments their photos get, and views on their stories. Gaining visibility ("social clout") through other "popular" people is a chase of its own, and a relationship is a means to that end, with ending up with a social figure who is also attractive simply being a bonus.

Hear me out: we can’t really discount the idea that what women describe as asshole behavior actually makes them more interested. It’s entirely possible that what she considers asshole behavior is just men engaging in an abundance mentality and not putting her first or making himself out to be desperate. Women want to chase, despite often being chased by suitors. Take away the mystery and frustration of not getting their way with a man, and they want more. They want to conquer him. But his behavi…

I guess I'm a bit biased with where I live, but it seems almost every other woman on OLD is raving about how much she loves hiking and traveling and being outdoors. /u/ImSoBored with your interests, I think you're probably being overly harsh without first putting yourself out there and testing the waters. I think the implication is that women are not pursuing serious relationships to become homemakers as aggressively and instead becoming The Provider themselves, in a single household, resulting in their wages increasing across the board as they achieve degrees and qualify for better-paying jobs.

Ah, let's not also forget that it's socially acceptable for a woman to commit unprovoked assault and battery against a man, but not for a man to commit, in retaliation, assault and battery against a woman.

Ah yeah, call all men trash because some sociopath fuckwits who imagine themselves pushing their nuts around in a wheelbarrow metaphorically shit on every woman who crosses their path. Retaliation is not a solution, and not all men are trash. Combativeness and excuses breed only more disdain for a sex you wish to build compassion and solidarity with.

This entire thread revolves around the context of Western culture (specifically in the US). There are a lot bigger issues in the global community than intersex relations, so your (albeit noble) pivot is really kind of irrelevant to the conversation. Women get a lot of passes for bad behavior seemingly under the guise that "men are worse" and for some reason that's good enough?

Good faulty generalization. The difference here is that normal people don't masturbate to art. Hentai isn't art. It's animated promiscuity for the express purpose of getting off dudes with obsessions with animated characters in wild fantasies.

The most revolting displays of unfiltered male sexuality I’ve seen have been men from more traditional repressed cultures in spaces where the rules were “off.” "show bob and vagene" type men from rural India?

It doesn't take a genius to figure out what's "realistic" and not in porn. I'd wager anyone not able to make that distinction is ill-equipped and on track for disappointment regardless of being misled by porn or not. As others have said, it's fantasy. Understanding the line between fantasy and reality is the key to managing expectations both short- and long-term.

Surely you can't be suggesting that the obesity rate in the USA is because of health issues and medication? I would be so bold as to say that health and medication are the minority, and the majority are people who don't take care of their bodies (LAZY).

I don't think your goals need to be sacrificed in this case. For me, having a woman who cares about me and who I care about is a reason to go above and beyond; to make her happy and help her achieve her goals, and perhaps become inspired to form some goals of my own, like accompany her on a travel trip she has as a goal. She does not have to do anything to directly give me motivation but share the mutual love and affection expected from a healthy relationship.

You're completely dismissing the issue of consent because of anecdotal evidence. The fact that this discussion is even happening is proof that it is a problem for at least some men. Additionally, you're making a gross assumption that every case of controversy of consent was the direct result of actual rape, when it's come to light that in many of these cases the woman was either receptive to the sexual advances and withdrew consent after the fact, or is lying as has also been seen in cases of "f…

/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/19 03:32 PM

Ultimately I don't think that fixes anything; it's just another obstacle for a match to overcome. It saves men the effort of sending the first message that often goes ignored, sure, but I would argue does little to nothing to affect the already abysmal rate that an actual conversation starts due to the mutually accepted reality that men are peacocks showing their feathers and women are sitting back and picking the ones with the nicest display.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/19 10:44 PM

And that works, if the woman finds you attractive and/or successful enough to want to give you the time of day. For the unfortunate bottom 80%, they have to go an extra mile to gain an inch.

How often do women message first? Men have to message first, so can you blame them for laying many lines in hopes that a handful bite? Just as it's exhausting for women to go through hundreds or thousands of low-effort "heys" and hookup requests, it's exhausting for men to message all of these women, and especially put in the effort to really try to connect with them based on what information they may or may not share on their profile. Low effort breeds low effort. Both sides need to step up.

I'm not sure why you abandoned your thesis about the masculine-feminine relationship and went off on a tangent about women that mimic children, because you had a great CMV going. Why do men prefer women with no hair below the neck Not because kids don't have body hair. Speak for yourself perhaps?

No, it's not a literal point system like collecting beads at Mardi Gras. It's a simplified explanation for the idea that you have to show you can be collected and steady, but that you aren't a total sociopath with no emotion in times of difficulty.

Agreed, but I've seen enough debates and social experiments over whether being more attractive in OLD gives you more chances to be successful than being unattractive to want to challenge that.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/19 09:33 PM

And in the age of OLD, looks matter more than skill for passing the initial barrier that is a "swipe right" or "like."

There's an assumption there that unattractive men do not have sex. I would argue that there are unattractive men who do have sex, and there are "average" and above men who don't have sex, be it celibacy (probably an edge case, but the incel community is not all completely unattractive dudes), religion (waiting for marriage), or lack of "skill" in either finding casual sex (hookups) or dating to the point of more intimate and romantic sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/19 02:29 AM

Perhaps the misalignment comes from some ladies here (un)intentionally making blanket statements based on their own anecdotal evidence. Every man wants to know the "formula" that is women and wants to believe such a thing exists, when it's totally impracticable and unrealistic, especially given the small sample size that is this sub.

Join clubs, go to social meetups (check out the app called Meetup to find some near you), volunteer, explore. I'm not sure why bars and clubs are the defacto answer for looking for relationships. I wouldn't want to date someone whose idea of fun is going to a bar.

You've got to admit, though, that programming is eking its way into various other parts of STEM. Simple scripting languages like Python and more focused scripting like Matlab and Mathematica are taking off as customizable tools for problem-solving rather than relying on single- or narrowly multi-purpose software applications.

Rejection vs leading on suitors is also quite different. Rejection can, however, be done in many ways. Public humiliation and shaming is different from turning a guy away in a private conversation.

As the quote often attributed to Einstein goes, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.” Failure should be taken as a guidebook for what not to do. Certainly, some relationships truly are broken and what one did was perhaps not incorrect, but I think in general failures are lessons to be learned from. With the men who have achieved success through failure, a common theme would be learning from their failures and iterating on what …

But plenty of successful men speak of times when they crashed and burned. Your personality greatly determines whether crashing and burning will result in decline towards the anger and resentment that is the incel community. Failing is perhaps even more beneficial than success, especially repeated failure. Failures are much more vivid than success, but if you lack the drive to go out and keep trying, you'll never get past the failures without some element of luck.

Women are pretty overprivileged, and that makes a lot of women think they are in a higher league than they really are. This is actually pretty interesting, and I don't know if the difference here is online vs in person, but a study by Tinder (I can't find it now and they have no search function on their blog) found that women more frequently swipe right on men who are objectively less attractive than them, while men tend to swipe right more frequently on women objectively more attractive than th…

The way I'm reading it is men are responsible for making the car go (path to a relationship?). Women are typically the ones who steer for corners and intersections (choices and events like accepting physical affection or hooking up), and brake when the car is going too fast (I think this part is fairly obvious).

Absolutely true, but a fat woman retains the ability to improve the physical trait that most men find unattractive, while a short man can do nothing about his height. I'm not suggesting every man will date a girl because he thinks she'd look super hot if she lost 100 pounds.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/19 06:14 PM

The point is that a woman being undesirable due to obesity can lose weight and improve her appearance.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/19 06:12 PM

The age old rebuttal there is that a fat woman can in theory lose weight and adopt a slimmer physique. A short man cannot realistically increase his height without serious medical intervention (which is incredibly slow, painful, and expensive for almost trivial vertical gains).

60k/yr is on the low end for a fresh college hire. Source: graduated college within the last few years and have a large network of similarly-aged colleagues. If you live in tech hubs like Seattle, SF, LA, Atlanta, or any other parts of Silicon Valley like Palo Alto, it's not uncommon for college hires to be making 6 figures, though in Silicon Valley it's because cost of living is so high.

What schedules do you have in your mind that still fit the "full-time" bill and permit an active social life? I think there's a big difference between being dominant and being a good flirt and/or socially adept. Being dominant is a very masculine word that implies aggression and a headstrong attitude that can't be deterred.
