Wait, what? I'm genuinely interested in seeing how they intend to teach sex ed without any gendered references. Can't see any way it won't end in an epic failure of attempted social engineering.

This one isn't quite as easy to come down on one side of. The man should loose the case if the clinic wasn't negligent and met all laws, customs, and regulations regarding obtaining consent and the ex-wife's fraud was convincing. The ex-wife, however, is easily guilty of fraud. Having said that, I can easily see a lawyer arguing and a judge agreeing that the man in this case, by participating in fertilizing and freezing viable embryos had given implicit consent for the child to be brought to ter…

Beautifully articulated deconstruction of language used. I'm a major fan of spotting shaming tactics and calling them out. Usually highlighting a shaming tactic effectively disarms it immediately. It also infuriates the user as you've taken one of their most potent weapons.

Afghani's seem to have been having a notable go of it over the last 16 years or so. Not winning, but sure not loosing either.

So the "solution" for this woman is to spend the rest of her life with no money, or possessions, living off government assistance, to avoid garnishment? I guess that would work, but so what? I'd personally love the idea of some person that wronged me living a life of absolute poverty on assistance to avoid a $24K debt. Again, it's not "easy" to collect, but it can be done: https://www.attorneygeneral.jus.gov.on.ca/english/courts/guides/After_Judgement_Guide_to_Getting_Results_EN.html

Ontario Small Claims court is capped at maximum damages of $25,000. Given he was awarded $24,000 (doesn't matter that includes legal fees), he pretty much capped it out. I'd like to read the actual judgement, I'm guessing it's a lot more damning to her than the article.

Camera's should have an idiot warning anytime someone tries to capture video in portrait. Something like "You are about to take video in portrait mode which results in substandard video and hate from all that know you. Press OKAY to continue or turn your phone sideways to take a video in proper landscape"

Okay, it depends on where you live as family law is a provincial jurisdiction. Two (Manitoba and Saskatchewan) have laws that after X # of years common law = married for property division. The rest mostly fall into these two links: Differences Similarity There is a concept of "Undue Enrichment" and it's hard to argue it's not a valid concept. An example, Guy owns the house, common-law partner moves in. Guy never adds her to the house title but she regularly makes 1/2 the mortgage payments. The a…

Untrue. Yes, in Canada you become a common law spouse, but at break-up the division of assets for a common law is very, very different (and much more fair) than the division of assets for a married couple. Edit Just saw you referenced "certain places". In checking it out again, I realized that this is right, there are two provinces that are insane

Depends on where you are. In Canada for instance, common law =/= marriage. There is no assumed immediate division of assets. The house would be clearly his as it was his alone at the start of cohabitation. If at some point he put her name on title, she'd own half, but he would still "own" the value of the entire thing valued at the start of the relationship and she would have to compensate him for it. Pensions are automatically split in a divorce here, but there's absolutely no right to pension …

Any moron that thinks a diamond is valuable needs to check out the market for second hand diamonds. Then, they need to show me instances of diamonds bought for investment or capital protection purposes. Precious metals (gold, platinum, etc...) are valuable and hold value in their weight. The diamond is for morons.

Saw this happen years ago. Guy works hard and earns a modest (not that lucrative) salary. He borrows to buy her the best ring he could and proposes. She accepts. She's a friend of my ex, so I hear the girl-talk conversation he'll never hear. She hates how "tiny" the ring is and "deserves" much bigger. It's okay though, she figures post vows, she'll turn the thumb screws and get a bigger replacement ring. They get married, and within 2 months, she's talked him into selling the original ring (at a…

100% agreement. Worse, the guy had it in a trust for charity use, he wasn't using it personally as he felt it dirty money. Now, I've worked in banking, and I'll say, everyone, not just women, can get "funny" when money is involved and you'll be surprised how fast morals are replaced by greed. So while I think very poorly of this woman, I can at least understand the motivation. In my opinion, the real evil here is the judge and judicial system that awards and enforces a judgement like that. Somet…

That's insane. The UK men need to revolt. In Canada (not exactly them most man-friendly), injury awards are the sole property of the person awarded regardless of when they are awarded. If this guy was awarded this in Canada, even if happily married at the time, and never "mixed" the money with family assets (ie: use it to pay down a mortgage, put it in a joint investment, etcc....), it stays his money for ever and ever and is explicitly excluded. As it should be.

Can someone PLEASE explain to me why College's in the US are expected to carry out any investigation or justice in a Sexual Anything case? The accusation is the accusation of a real crime, with laws and everything that the judicial system is meant to deal with. The way crime is supposed to be handled is the victim files a complaint with the police. If a victim presents themselves to anyone else, such as a school employee, I don't understand how said employee doesn't say "you need to call the pol…

I live in Ontario. Given the current Govt in charge, this really doesn't surprise me. Can someone please explain why the left and society in general continue to accept and demand unwavering support for "gender identity"? This law (which also eliminated "Mother" and "Father" and replaced them with "Birth Parent" (mother) and "Parent" (Father, and up to two additional unrelated persons of any gender) makes it LEGALLY MANDATORY to support your son or daughter's "gender identity". Look at what Gende…

Okay, this here is part of the problem with a lot of posters on TRP. Yes, there is Player Shaming. I've seen it. I've had it applied to myself, and it sucks losing out on a good time because someone told the focus of my attention that "he's a player". But (and here's where a lot of TRP readers slip up).....it's defeating and hypocritical to bitch about it. Girls use PS to try and move you towards a BP mindset? So what, big deal, you miss out on a vag....I bet there's a few more out in the world.…

Guy, probably the best decision you can make. There's way more to life than getting laid, and focusing on you it truly the only way to be happy. External validation via getting laid is still external validation, it requires someone else to provide your happiness. I do well with ladies, always have, but my game has always been your TL:DR. I have never chased a girl, tried to "get the girl", etc. Never been my thing. Instead, I go to the gym, I focus on what makes me happy and what benefits my lif…

Funny how that works. Me, I think it's a combo of "can't hide the bad physique" and it plays so well to western traditional manliness, the guy wearing the T isn't afraid to do some physical work or get dirty. Whatever it is, simple beats complicated just about every time.

Yeah, your fault, guy. Juicing or not, wrap it up. You don't want the herpes. Having said that, $450 > +18 years Child Support, not to mention the legal bills crazy's going to bring down on you. I think it's a cash grab, but maybe, like others, she's trying to get you to pay to fix some other guy's problem. If it's a real pregnancy but maybe some other guy's problem, well, getting a positive test won't do much. You'd need an in vitro paternity test. I'll say that's unlikely to happen. So, write …

Said this for a long, long time. The best fashion upgrade you can get is to get and stay in shape. I'd read somewhere recently that to this day, the # 1 outfit women find absolutely hot is jeans and a white T-shirt. The thing with that classic look though is it requires you to be in shape to pull off. It's really hard to hide fat or frail wearing a basic white T. So, lesson to learn is, buy yourself a pair of raw denim jeans and a few decent white T's (with a proper cut) and work out till you lo…

An emotionally mature man can and will actively accept their faults and openly own them. The ability to take criticism has nothing to do with not being the top dog alpha, instead it shows thick skin and the self confidence and maturity to listen, filter, and take from that criticism what you feel is legitimate and improve from it.

One of the things I see all the time on TRP is calling out women for "Hamstering", but everyone does it. Everyone rationalizes behaviour they know is wrong. Now, I'll say there are more men than women that are willing to accept their failings and chose to not rationalize, able to stand strong and say "I fucked up", but that's not the default. Having said that, women are much, much more committed to hamstering and gas lighting. Women, much more than men, anchor so much of their self worth in the …

Yep, "no fault" divorce laws. You can do everything right, work hard, pay the bills, stay in shape, stay engaged with her, be a great dad, etc...., and one day, you come home to find some douche she met at the gym balls deep in her. You raise your voice, she chases you out the house with a meat cleaver, hands you divorce papers, and there you have it, She gets 1/2. There's no argument. 1/2. If she's of a lower income, she gets a lifetime of maintenance payments too. Basically, the courts ensure …

Exact correct response. Only problem is, in a LTR, IRL, it's super hard to actually follow. Especially because you usually still have very deep seated trust and expect a question to be answered truthfully. Of course that's not what will happen, but it's instinct at this point.

Surviving a marriage brought down by a cheating wife, my advice to this guy is to act 100% like nothing's wrong and you buy her story (very hard to do IRL though when suspicious/pissed off). Then, you need to check up (be careful about this part and the law): If you have access to her phone, install spy software. If the phone is in your name or part of a family plan, you can claim this as legally watching your property. Make certain it can capture messaging apps outside standard SMS. Understand …

Yeah, well, can't speak to individual states, but that's exactly what happens in Canada. Google "David Foley" (actor on old TV show News Radio) and watch him explain his situation to Joe Rogan. Full rage inducing. What happens here is (in order); Court orders payment You cannot/will not pay "Family Responsibility Office" (FRO) begins garnishing wages/withholding government support/seizing tax returns FRO, to force payment, has drivers licence revoked, professional associations, professional lice…

Agreed, although some Countries have gone the other way, mostly France and Germany have made it basically illegal. France will fine any man found using an out-of-country lab for testing 15,000 Eur. The reasoning? "Keeping the peace" in a family. My take on France's reasoning, it's basically state protected fraud. Paternity fraud is allowed to continue under legal protection. In Ontario, Canada (and same in a LOT of Common-Law western countries), the law is pretty clear regarding having to pay ch…

BP's are not "artificially" raising anyone's SMV. Every time I see one of these style posts, I see an attitude of anger over perceived revenge denied, that this woman (or similar) have the BP hordes orbiting and as such denying the revenge of her "suffering" her post-wall fate. The problem with that is it's unhealthy, and completely misses what's actually happening. Once again, the BP's are not artificially raising her or anyone's SMV. What's actually happening is her SMV has dropped to the poin…

Same thing here in Canada, it's a gift conditional on agreeing to marriage (regardless of the day it's given). This has been repeatedly tested in court. The instant she follows through and marries the guy, she's fulfilled her side of the conditional gift and now owns the ring, reason being courts in Canada have decided the agreement to marry doesn't include any agreed amount of time to stay married. The problem here is both agreed that he was at one point able to take the ring back but did not a…

I read it this morning and was going to post. I feel bad for the guy, but at the same time, he's an idiot for gifting her what he did. I've had friends do similar and end up with the girl, but to me it's always seemed like a moron thing to do. I guess though he fell victim to the Blue Pill "Provider" lie, and she took the cash and ran. Approx. 0% of people should be surprised.

Funny, for the longest time, my (ex)wife knew more about my postings/deployments/changes at work than I did. Usually, I'd hear about this stuff about 1-2 weeks first through the wive's network than through my own COC. I'm with you that I push against it as well, but I don't think it's feminization as much as it's dealing with the idea that if the wives are pissed, the member's not happy too. If they can get spousal buy-in and get them waving the flag just as strongly, then they can deploy you an…

Most comments get it right that any inherited property (money, physical goods, etc...) is considered "excluded" assets so long as it's not co-mingled. That can be as easy as putting it in a single name account(s), etc. There's all kinds of ways to deal with stuff like this, for instance, but the true gold digger will push you towards co-mingling because family & love. One catch, and something to keep in mind when you're writing your own will, a pitbull lawyer could make the argument the inherita…
