I don't think it is her fault. I see a woman who is rightfully bothered by something and society telling her that she doesn't have the right to be bothered and this is what I have a problem with.

Psychology student here. There is no "ideal" therapist but an ideal match between therapist and patient. I think you need to vet. And as already mentioned here, find someone who has studied at a respectable university and preferably has a PhD in clinical psychology.

When I left my boyfriend of 4 years 8 months ago I felt the same way. I know about the inner battle. But there is a reason for you to leave and deep down you know that, if you didn't you wouldn't want to leave. I would say our relationship was not too bad either, nothing too bad, but we had stopped growing together and also we were not able to resolve conflicts. I loved him a lot back then and he loved me too, it was very hard to not get back together, but I knew what was right for me as you do …

Thank you. I think boredom plays a huge role. I am a student at a very competitive program and the last months of my life have consisted of nothing but studying. I have also noticed that I had not been thinking about him that much when I was doing something interesting.

I can relate to your last paragraph a lot. And I decided to find someone my age to crush on. This is maybe not ideal but better. There is certainly something very attractive to me about being the younger one and thus being the more "desirable one" because I feel like I can never be that desirable to men at my age even though I look attractive and generally get a lot of looks, so I think this has a lot to do with the way I perceive myself and your comment made me realise all that. Thank you.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
