I don’t know. No matter how hard I try, my gf just always knows what to say to make me feel better. I feel unequal in this, since I don’t always get her moods up. Same with gifts, she always finds ways to one-up herself and me in that matter. So I think my gf is the more romantic. Maybe you are just really unlucky.
