I don't think that's true, I just think a lot of people who criticize women do so in a misogynistic way. I spend a good amount of time around leftists, and they sure do love spending time criticizing other leftists, and while they sure as hell aren't respectful about it, they don't do it the way the average facebook/twitter user would, or the way the main stream media does. But I also won't deny there's a faction in most well-known women's base that will call any criticism at all 'misogynistic',…

I see this repeated a lot, about 'male vs female' problem solving and conversation styles, and much like a lot of the relationship advice I've seen, it just doesn't really ring true for me at all. I don't really have any fundamental differences between my friends of different genders.

Hobbies is maybe the wrong word, but regardless, I couldn't image having a relationship with someone who doesn't have shared interests. Even if our 'life goals' are the same, and we're emotionally compatible, not spending time together on recreational things we enjoy would feel weird to me. But that's not to say your way is wrong. The trope of 'the husband working away in his garage and having boy time on weekends, the wife reading/knitting in the living room and having girl time during the day'…

I see where you're coming from. The problem is how broad BP is. I can agree with you when talking about broader society, that doesn't think about gendered issues one way or another, and that group is part of BP just by virtue of not being RP. I'm more talking about the section of BP on this subreddit, and the BP feminists/menslib. I would put them up with what you said about TRP recognizing society has biases that infantilize women, and not do that. TRP attributes it more to Evopsych, Feminists …

Okay. And I stand by my advice to pursue relationships. If you're looking for advice for casual sex, I will say that I don't really have experience in that area.

I'm not. The CMV OP posted was about 'realizing women are people' is a red pill view. I argued otherwise. None of that is related to giving advice for casual sex. There's a reason why I'm not super active on this subreddit, since a lot of the topics aren't relevant to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/19 04:09 PM

Okay, but even if that's true, it doesn't address my point that I think it is more of a traditional and/or RP view than a BP view.

That's fine for you to do. Personally, I treat everyone with a baseline respect, and its up to them to lose it. Your other points are another thing I've never understood, but maybe I've just gotten lucky and have a lot of female friends with similar interests to mine. But I lead a nerdy lifestyle of video games, DnD, and tech shit, and the group of people I do that with is a pretty even gender split. Even disregarding that fact, I'd never want to date anyone that I didn't have mutual interests w…

I mean, I don't really flirt outside of the bedroom. And I've only really done casual sex once, for a friend-with-benefits thing, and she hinted at it pretty directly to me, before I just asked if she wanted to fuck. I've never 'picked up women' or had sex with someone I didn't know well before hand, so I could see that kind of dating market being different, and I don't mean to dismiss your personal experiences. But none of that changes of the fact that 90% of TRP reads as completely alien to me…

I mean, most of the time, I asked to start the dating, but all my relationships started with us being friends, usually for at least a year, often many years. Its just been a natural transitions into dating for us, and the base friendship is the same as the friendship I have between men, and between the women I'm not dating/having no interest in ever dating. TRP's heaps of advice on how to treat women has always just struck me as so... patronizing and unnecessary.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/19 03:48 PM
12

Because they have in my experience. That's why I'm generally pretty confused by TRP, aside from some basic stuff like being fit and having your life in order, it runs completely counter to my romantic life. And men generally prefer friendships with active, successful people, so even that is good advice even if you're not struggling with dating women.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/19 03:36 PM

This one? I've that's been my dating strategy in adulthood, and its worked for me well. Obviously there is an added sexual component once you are dating or seeing them, but the base relationship is the same as friendship with anyone else.

So I think we may both be falling for the 'only my side sees reality as it actually is', but I feel like the blue pill side on this forum is the one that treats Women as just people, the Red pill treats them (emotionally) as bratty children. Considering Blue pill just broadly means 'any non-red pill', I won't deny that some have the women is wonderful effect, but I don't think that its endemic. I think its more of a symptom of traditionalism, that infantalizes women, both as sacred, wonderful, b…

I agree mostly with OP's assessment, as someone a year older at 27. While I feel like the half-your-age + 7 lower limit is fairly reasonable limit for creepiness's sake, but I almost certainly wouldn't connect with someone who was only 21 years old. I feel like I'd really only be looking somewhere between 23 and like 34? I haven't thought about it much recently, having just celebrated by 3 year anniversary (she's 25 fwiw), but when I was younger, I gave a lot more thought to it.

Male. I'm not interested in casual sex at all. Tried it in college a bit, and while it wasn't terrible, it also wasn't really enjoyable either. I personally need a romantic connection to enjoy sex. I don't see anything wrong with casual sex at all, I just don't care to have it myself.

I do think those men have value as people and should be treated like dirt. Part of the reason they are is people looking down on NEETs for not being productive.

Capitalism is a hierarchical system build upon inequality and debt. You cannot completely eliminate suffering and abuse in it. That doesn't mean the only answer is to demolish capitalism, you can do a number of different types of hybrid systems (like we have in the US). But capitalism itself assures exploitation.

While it could generally be considered a type of wage theft, it is not usually what if meant by the term. It is meant to refer to people like the CEO of large companies, and the board of investors, who makes vastly more money than any of the workers, while not working vastly more. The counter-argument for that is they are risking their own capital, but with capital representing food, housing, and medicine for people that need is, is it fair at all for them to be betting supplies for tens of thou…

True, my point remains that how you signal 'high class' is cultural. The nobility wouldn't get caught dead doing actual work, as that's what peasants are for. Now if a celeb goes to farm or clean or whatever, it a photo-shoot showing how 'down to earth and humble' they are. And your claim still has no evidence, because you didn't cite anything. I'm not committing to a full blank slate ideology, but I am committing to saying 'attraction seems very similar to fashion, in that it varies massively b…

No, that's liberal ideology. Leftist ideology varies from anywhere between: You should be getting paid way more after we eliminate wage theft, to you should not be getting paid at all because we should be living in a post-currency society. The second one is more extreme than my personal view, but portraying leftist as wanting more taxes isn't terribly accurate. And personally, working in the electrical field in an area that has union electricians and non-union electricians, sure the union guys g…

And you have no proof it isn't, as you're just arguing from what you know. And my argument is it doesn't matter, leftist theory is largely economic, not sexual. Maybe women will continue to only select high status men; in a non-capitalist society, what's considered high-status will probably look very different. For example, the US currently values hard, constant work as high status, which is why celebs talk about how busy they are, flying around, doing meetings, signings, ect. On the other hand,…

Not really interested in debating economic structures here with you tbh, as it goes beyond the scope of this forum, but in short, there are several different leftist theories on this, and its a schism with a lot in infighting. But the general idea is with some type of collectivism that individual stake in the well being of society as a whole and any type of business or project on a smaller scale is better motivation than just a paycheck in the mail. And as industrialization increases, fewer and …

And that's the sort of view that leftists want to deconstruct. Basically every bit of your statement. But overall 'value as a man' means that you shouldn't be degraded, treated as dirt, denied rights just because you can't be productive. Attraction is largely cultural, and also who gives a shit. That sounds antagonistic, but when talking about rights, about exploitation and abuse, it rates higher on the scale than gettin some sex. I understand this forum is for talking about such issues, but thi…

...You do know that modern leftism is pretty much based on workers rights right? Like Marxism is largely about how the lower class is the abused workhorse of the upper class? Sure, while it doesn't delve directly into saying "Men are abused workhorses", because I don't think it needs to draw a gender line there. The large push for 'you don't need to be productive to have value as a human' is even more direct at countering your point. Again, its not specifically targeted at men, because it does a…

Nah Not even in the natural world. Its true for some animals, like solo predators, but there's too many social and cooperative species for me to give an allowance to nature. Sure, cooperative species, including humans, compete over a lot of stuff, but there's lots of things in which they are communal too. I guess you could frame it as a communal competition vs every other species collectively, but that's a grim way of looking at what doesn't need to be a zero sum game. So yeah, I think there man…

Yes, I work in construction, so I know there's competition in a lot of our current system, but all parts of life, especially in personal life? No, I don't think everything is a competition.

The shocking amount of men who think there is competition everywhere, and that aggression is a good thing. Several red pill view I get where they're coming from, even if I don't agree with their conclusions, but I really just cannot understand the view that constant aggression and competition in every aspect of your life is at all reasonable, laudable, or healthy.

Most of my time. My group of friends is somewhere around 50/50 gender divide (with a few identifying as non-binary), and we usually hang out in groups. I live with my girlfriend, and we room with another couple that are our friends from highschool/college. So almost all my social time is spent around women. TBH I've never given it much thought, and always kinda thought most gender divide stuff is dumb, but I don't really care who people decide to hang out with.

Yes I do expect red pill men to shoot themselves in the foot by self selecting unhealthy relationships and partners. 15 year olds probably do sometimes do 'natural' manipulation, that's because a lot of 15 year olds are shitheads. I know I was. The vast majority of what teens, especially young teens, do in relationships is fuck up and get burned to learn how to do better in the future. For the car wash example, #1, business is very different from personal relationships. There's a lot of nasty un…

It's not? I mean, in so much as socializing in general involves not shouting out whatever thoughts pop into your head. Its best to be honest about your feelings and intentions. Saying off the bat 'I'm just looking to hook up' is off putting, mostly because you're bringing up sex/serious stuff immediately, but making your intentions to 'just hook up and not date' clear beforehand is a good idea.

"Like attracts like" does not mean that there's a soulmate for everyone, and it doesn't magically make unattractive traits attractive. It means that people date their peers. Famous actors/actresses more often than not date each other, upper middle class people by and large date each other, college kids date each other. That is quantifiable. Partners also tend to share interests. Obviously not all interests, but at least one, and usual multiple. The classic movie trope of fiery extrovert partier …

What are you talking about? 'Like attracts like' is such a fundamental part of how people pair off. It obviously doesn't apply to every relationship, but statistically, people date their peers, by a large degree. And why mention myers-briggs type at all? Might as well mention she's a scorpio.

I would fully intend for there to be consequences. I think it is both morally wrong, and legally ill advised for those consequences to physical violence. In this instance, that would be legal and monetary consequences. For this particular guy, I understand his legal standing in the divorce proceedings would probably be jeopardized by his own apparent neglect of the kids, but INAL.

I generally think you shouldn't retaliate with violence. Any self defense course will teach you step 1 of self defense is trying to remove yourself from the situation. I'm not a complete pacifist, as there are definitely times where your back is against a wall, or when you need to use violence to protect someone else. But he was clearly not in physical danger from her. That being said her behavior was also fucked up, and emotionally abusive, and I'm not excusing it. I'm just saying that appropri…

The only female friends I've sexually fantasized about have been ones I had previously had sex with, and even then its just been when I've been horny and single between relationships, and not that often. But I'm also the type of person who really isn't sexually attracted to a girl unless there is some romantic connection as well, so I suspect I'm not the norm. Hiding my emotions. Making everything into a competition. Shaming others for not being masculine. Making everything to be about sex. Not being friends with women. Being aggressive outside of crises. I still consider myself masculine, though I'm sure compared to all the TRP mega-alphas I'm practically a woman. I just try to pick the best parts of my behavior to keep doing, and stop doing the toxic stuff.

That makes some sense. For the two that are close to their fathers, both of their fathers are somewhat leftist. The one who's friendly but distant is actually my roomate atm, and his family is the UMC republican type, and he was as well when I first started hanging out with him in college. He's now a SJW like me, though he's working with his dad in medical technologies, so I don't really know if it'd be considered rebellion. No idea about larger trends, but personally I have a very good relationship with my dad and family, and we're all pretty close, and if you can't tell from the flair, I'm a feminist man who rejects toxic masculinity. My dad is fairly traditional dude, but goofy, and I suspect slightly left-leaning, but since my mom is very right wing he prefers to not talk politics ever. BP here. The word Masculinity means to me a collection of traits that have been associate with male-ness to our culture. Some have a biological basis, some are just traits that western culture has decided are 'male' for some reason, and men are taught to 'be this loose collection of traits' growing up, to the point where a lot of the traits are just hammered in as 'intrinsically male'. What it means to me personally, in terms of what adjective I like to see in myself, is being straightforward an…

I don't really think any culture has masculinity 'right', but some do different things right. The western view has done at least some of it right, judging by our success. But it doesn't mean it can't be improved. Wanting to be first is competitive, not aggressive. I wanted to do well, but I generally didn't get aggressive at them, and the times I did I considered myself in the wrong. Is sitting still in class learning like girls? Isn't that how men have learned in western history? Like, apprenti…

I think we have different definitions for aggression. You seem to just think it means drive, and being assertive, I'm defining it as "hostile or violent behavior or attitudes toward another; readiness to attack or confront.". Regardless, when I say games, I mean like video games, and I played team sports, which are I think the most common to see in school, where you learn to work with each other. And yeah, I feel like a CEO who brings it home and can never not be a leader is going to be an assho…

I mean, someone who can't stop being a leader is just a tyrant. You can't be in control all the time, and if you try, you just become a control freak. That combined with aggressiveness is definitely a lot of what people picture when you say 'toxic masculinity'. That need to be right, even when talking out their ass, answering any questioning with aggression. And yeah, being aggressive during competition is generally toxic. It's where bad sportsmanship, cheating, and trash talking comes from. Its…

So, it's nuanced, as not all traits are 'positive' or 'toxic'. Self-reliance, for example, is generally positive, but 'toxic masculinity' is taking it to the point where you can never be seen to ask for help or show weakness. Leadership is also generally positive, as long as you can function without being in control all the time. Aggressiveness is generally a toxic trait, but in small amounts, or in the right situations, it can be positive. Same with anger. Broadly speaking though, I'd define 't…

I imagine a lot of the posts would be deleted from the subreddits as off topic, especially if you use your wording 'masculinity is good'. It isn't. It is an umbrella term for personality traits associated with men. Some of those traits are good, some are bad, and most are probably good sometimes or in moderation, and bad sometimes or in excess. Regardless, I'm not disagreeing completely. There are some feminist communities on reddit I don't see eye to eye with, that would throw me on my ass.

Isn't that what this post is? Regardless, this post asked my personal opinion, which I gave, and if other TBP members were to say that all masculinity=toxic masculinity, I would disagree. I'm not going to say that I haven't seen that opinion around TBP, but your 'half' seems pessimistic, and I think a majority would agree masculinity has positive traits.

Not at all. I'm all for positive masculinity. I've harped on toxic masculinity here quite a bit, as it's been the 'feminist' issue that's effected me the most, but I'm a fairly masculine person myself, so it definitely has positives. Its just that a lot of the negatives in my personal life were driven by success oriented self-reliance, and from judgement from other men. My main issue is with people lumping all masculine traits together, and describing them as 'good', or when people take 'toxic m…

We're really not that rare, just on this forum. Regardless, I agree with VermiciousKnidzz. OP talking about women's value as a trophy, a treasure to keep safe, and as a baby making machine. That's not how I would describe a human's value, and is also a pretty gross way of characterizing a person. It's been a mixed bag. I've had some pretty bad issues with mental illness in the past, and reluctance to admit I had a problem and seek help nearly killed me. That being said, when I did admit I had some problems and opened up to people, some were supportive, and some were mocking. I'd say overall, men's negative reactions tended to be mocking, while women's negative reactions tended to be ghosting. Gender: Male Like most societal issues, the answers are complicated, and there are many contributing factors, so I'm going to answer from my own personal experiences. My history with depression and suicide attempts has been the textbook one for young men, where the base problems were greatly compounded by a refusal to admit there is a problem to anyone, or to seek any outside help. So I do blame toxic masculinity for my personal problems. And had I not overcome that programming to be 100% self r…

Pretty sure that's not what it says. The subtitle is even "How allies often undermine the very movement they claim to support", which is pretty transparent in the central message that many 'male feminists' are fake. I don't really agree with the article overall, but regardless, it's still not about male feminists being disliked because they're feminists, it's about female feminists not considering some 'male feminists' to be real feminists.

How? I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but you're not really explaining anything. It really isn't hard to just treat women as people.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/03/18 08:37 PM

Can you explain? That seems like a pretty extreme statement. Avoiding being anti-feminist is as easy as: Don't sexually assault people Give women the same respect as men. I mean, tumblr feminists call out anything any famous person does as being nazi-like, but as far as main stream news goes, the above two steps are that easy.

I don't understand. Are you claiming men fundamentally can't be feminist?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/03/18 08:28 PM

But I'm not becoming friends with women to get into relationships. I'm becoming friends with women because I like them as people and want to be their friends. And yeah, I comfort my friends when they're hurting, just as I know I can come to them when I'm hurting. That's what good friends do. If someone always comes to me when they need something, but aren't there for me when I'm in need, I know they aren't a real friend and I'll distance myself from them.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/03/18 08:26 PM

It isn't though. I'm familiar with 'no true scotsman', and that's not what I'm trying to say. Nemobeenfound was claiming that there are a lot of articles that describe women disliking male feminists. I was saying that I have see articles talking about how women dislike men who are pretending to be feminists. They don't dislike that the men are feminist, its that they'll talk about how feminist and PC they are, and then immediately do or say some very not-feminist thing.

It is a complicated issue to be sure. Its similar in my mind to clergy who commit atrocities that go directly against their religion. Were they faking the religion to get into trusted positions, or were they trying and failing to control themselves while being honest believers? Probably a mix that depends on the individual. So Louis might be a sincere feminist with bad self control. But if an fervent pacifist anti-war activist murders someone in a fit of rage, I think its fair to call them a fak…

The usual definition I've heard for friendzone requires the guy to express romantic or sexual interest and get turned down. Regardless, my story is pretty similar to KerPop42's, though I haven't been interested in hookups. Just being friends with girls can result in relationships. 6 of my 7 relationships have been with girls that I had been friends with for years. It happens when your friend group is about half women who you treat well and support like any other close friend.

The articles I've seen about that are not complaining about male feminists, they're complaining about male "femenists", like this. Unless you're seeing a lot of different articles than what I've been seeing, male feminists seem to be doing alright in the romance department, not that that's the point of being a feminist.

As someone with a relatively low libido, sex whenever really is impossible, so long as we're talking PIV. And having dated women with libidos across the spectrum, matching libidos is a problem for some, and not a problem for others. Yeah, if they're very horny and I'm not in the mood, I can still do oral or w/e, but it's not always the same for them. But for a lot of people, it's easy to just shrug and move on. I think a lot of men really overestimate how important sex is. Which isn't me saying …

Yes, it is sexual assault, there doesn't need to be any threat of violence. A great deal of sexual assault is from figures of authority taking advantage of their standing and power. That's how most rape in the military happens, specifically male on male; the threat of no one beleiving them or of getting them in trouble. And on a date isn't 'kissing them out of nowhere'. He's describing just walking up to someone and kissing them, 'I'm attracted to beautiful. I just start kissing them, I don't ev…

I mean, them being too intimidated or scared of repercussions to say 'no' is absolutely sexual assault. Kissing a girl out of nowhere is sexual assault, and the fact that some might be okay with it doesn't change that fact. You can't go around forcing yourself on women just because you are attractive and some women might be into it. Do I think his comment is about literally rape? No. But I think he was serious about sexually assault people? Probably. The fact he doesn't realize that 'getting awa…

Masculinity is absolutely still valued as a whole. But it has toxic elements to it. I was a shithead in highschool who overcompensated by trying to be overly masculine, like men are taught to. And then I grew out of it. I am still a man, but I had to unlearn bad behaviors I was taught, like suppressing emotions, and being unable to realize I am at fault for things, as well as the notion that I had to be 'alpha', and that I couldn't show weakness. That shit is toxic. But I have confidence now, an…

Absolutely agree that feelings are natural. But you say yourself if you feel sad, to go deal with it by yourself. That may work for some people, but hiding that and not seeking support from others may be crippling for other people. As is shaming them for showing that emotion. Is it best for you to channel that into something constructive? Generally speaking, yes. But sometimes you just need time, or to talk it over, or need help to figure out how to be constructive with it. Bawling like a baby m…

Do you really think that's an argument bloops make? Because one of my primary problems I have with traditional masculinity is the fact that you're not 'allowed' to feel any negative emotion other than anger. Men being allowed to cry, be allowed to feel anxious or depressed, and still be a man™, was something I found in feminism.

Well, this gets into a lot of complicated stuff, by the short of it is that asexual does not necessarily mean aromantic. Being romantic with someone, and having physical closeness, doesn't have to be sexual. We did have sex a few times, and tried some stuff out, but ultimately she basically just has 0 sex drive. For what it is worth, she is dating a guy now who also considers himself asexual. There are different kinds of asexual too. Like I said, some are aromantic, and don't want that sort of r…

And that's one of my biggest problems with TRP. They get a lot of flak for generalizing women, but I feel like their generalizations about men are also fundamentally flawed, as they too run counter to my personal experiences, and those of my friends. Because it is a highly personal thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/16 12:22 AM
2

I feel like I'd be fine to not have sex. I had a 'dry spell' of 3 years while dating an asexual girl, though I used quotes because cuddling still hits that 'human contact' thing. My other one was a little less than 2 years, and I felt lack of romance more annoying, but like, it's not that bad.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/16 12:04 AM

I mean, I do still have some sympathy for them, it's just that sex isn't exactly on the list of needs, and I think it's put too high on the list of wants.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/16 11:58 PM

I mean, yeah, it has changed my view on what a dry spell is considered. There's enough people defining it as under a year that I'll run by that definition as well. On the other hand, having heard people complain about dry spells in the past, and now knowing that they probably meant a few months without sex, does still make me less sympathetic.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/16 08:47 PM

Wow okay I see a lot of answers here based on months, I always thought a dry spell had to be at least like 2 years. Honestly makes me way less sympathetic about dudes complaining about dry spells now.

I mean, there are people who are asexual but still interested in romance. Romantic closeness is a separate thing from sexual closeness. Two of my friends that are dating and have been for a while are asexual, and they are all 'couple'-y in the classic romantic sense. You yourself may be aromantic. It is considered a thing. Dread game isn't misogynistic, it's manipulative. Many TRP ideas are misogynistic, but the actual techniques lean more towards manipulation and being shitty to people. Women can absolutely use dread, and are also shitty people if they do. But TRP is actively advocating men using it. Tips to make people like you are one thing. But a lot of TRP is making people like you at the cost of their own emotional state, i.e. trying to make your partners anxious and afraid.

So, these have been argued to death and back on ppd, but still: AWALT: I understand that it is supposed to be in the vein of All Guns Are Loaded, but it's really the fact that it takes general human failings, and attributes them to women. It implies that men are more trustworthy. Prenups and such are a good idea, in the same sense that if you loan a friend money, you shouldn't expect to get it back. I'm speaking in context of this subreddit. Anytime these threads come up, TBP agrees with the self improvement side of TRP. Sure, TBP stance is mostly to poke fun at how ridiculous TRP is, but when parodying something, it's important to identify what is silly and what isn't.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/16 02:14 PM
4

The short answer is that TRP is manipulative and is misogynistic. TBP has said time and time again that working out, learning to be more confident, and getting your life in shape is a great way to make anyone like you, and self improvement is laudable. TBP is against TRP for AWALT, hypergamy, dread game, and all the other misogynistic ideas that seem to be embedded into its decent self improvement tips.

You're not wrong, but it's not the most relevant to TRP vs TBP; terps aren't TBP, in the same way that the shitty conservatives who push for policing women's bodies aren't TRP.

I mean, yes, TERFs SWERFS are scum. But I was talking about TBP, and society 'lieing' to young men. Extremists are hardly mainstream. I'm sorry you've been mistreated by them by so many others. By back then I mean, like, the middle ages. At least a couple of centuries. Also, not sure what you mean with your third option. Women now do control part of society, and do have privledge in some areas, but men still have privilege in an awful lot more, and men control more of society.

Wow, way to oversimplify. Men have privilege in more areas of life than women. The very fact that, in this thread, there are staunch feminists discussing the problems that men do have, shows that not all men are privileged all the time in all areas of life. Moral relativism is a generally liberal thing, you are correct. That is a reason why I don't consider myself a liberal, though I identify with it more than conservatism. But TRP is famous for saying sexual strategy is amoral, which while strictly speaking true, it ignores the fact that interpersonal relations are moral, and you need to use that lens when looking to apply amoral strategies. And while I don't doubt there are men that do do what you say, I'd be veeery hesitant to make that sweeping of a generalization about men vs. women in this context, especially in the younger generation. I think it's common with both genders to be on both sides the attractiveness/personality divide.

How does it not logically make sense? His statement is true: it is rare for him to find women he would date. What is illogical about that? If you're in a situation when men are the ones who are seen to be the initiator, like most bars and clubs, then of course women are going to take the easy way. Yeah, being a college aged man is hard. So is being a college aged woman. Life is hard. TRP is made up of dissatisfied men upset about the same things, of course their concerns are going to seem 'universal to men' when you mostly just interact with like minded people.

Of course most of the women you know have wide social circles. You are skewing the data because most people you know also know a lot of people. That is a question that is fairly complicated. Based on how you define the girl and how you define TRP techniques. If we're calling working out and being confident as TRP, that works on pretty much everyone, even outside of romance and sex, but is hardly a specific TRP thing. So I'm more referring to PUA types of techniques. Not letting her take you for granted? How is that what I'm saying at all? I said to let her know that if your needs aren't met that you'll break up. I'm just saying not to hold it over her head for the express purpose of making her live in fear. Edit: aslo for what it's worth I feel like breaking up over not getting sex is really stupid, and that that is really what ruins 'otherwise perfect relationships'.

... Craves sex? Dread game is making her have sex out of fear. If you want her to crave sex, then rekindle your romance. Work out, and improve yourself. Make yourself desirable, don't prey on her weakness and fear. And if it doesn't work, then it doesn't work. Everyone has different needs and preferences.

You're not burning the relationship to the ground, you're transitioning from a commitmented romantic relationship to whatever works for you instead, usually a friendship (since hopefully you actually liked your partner). I would much rather do that then 'inject fear' into them. That sounds like a terrible way to live, especially since it's implied to go hand in hand with using that fear to manipulate them into sex they don't really want to have.

Break up with them. Clearly you cannot adequately meet each other's needs. Your relationship can remain friends, but something is not working out between you.

... Not really. There is a bit of a game to initiating relationships sometimes, but once you are in a relationship, you really should be honest with each other and stop playing stupid games.

First of all, you should care about your partner more than your job, and be concerned about their wants and needs too. Also it's not always about getting the best 'deal'; as an engineer, I could make the most money working for big petroleum, but I don't want to do that. But I digress. So let's assume we have a problem in our relationship; I want more sex than is currently happening. Dread game says to make them constantly aware that you could leave or have an affair whenever they lapse in meetin…

In my opinion, influence is based on self improvement and being a role model; having that charisma that people like. Manipulation is ferreting out people's flaws, the things they are self conscious about, their worries, and calculating the way to prey apon them. It's making people do things they don't want to or normally wouldn't do by targeting their specific emotions. I think improving yourself specifically to make girls want to have sex with you is kinda weird, but not necessarily bad. Is TRP…

Isn't it though? Are you saying dread game isn't manipulation? Being 'alpha' enough to command your partners around? So much of their strategy seems to be calculated to bend people to do what they want them to do. Sounds like manipulation to me.

For me to personally adopt TRP techniques? 1) Actually be interested in random sex 2) Actually be interested in random sex with the type of girl TRP techniques work on 3) Feel okay manipulating strangers and partners into wanting random sex with me I've said before that self-improvement, going to the gym, and acting confident is hardly TRP; that is advice you will hear from just about anyone in context of making people like you. And it's good advice. It works in most facets of life, even outside…

Bettering themselves is fine. I approve of how TRP encourages confidence and fitness. But TBP is laughing about TRP's distorted worldview on women and society in general, not on going to the gym. I know that doesn't cover all the actions of TBP, but that is the purpose.

I'm right by Pittsburgh atm, though I also only recently finished college at Penn State, so probably like 75% of my experiences are from a large college town.

It's weird, because all of my experiences with women have been so radically different than what trp says anecdotally, I almost feel like they're making it up. I'm sure most of them are not, and I'm not trying to moralize or talk statistics at this moment, but most women I have met are just mostly like men. My gut reaction to trp is just so hard for me to control since almost all the girls I'm friends with or have dated or slept with have been pretty chill. Only one of my exes was ever shitty to …

There are women like that. There are also men like that; both sexes are attracted to danger. But you don't have to be an edgy asshole to get women, you have to be interesting. Jim the accountant is boring, not because he is stable, but because he is an accountant. He lets his shitty (but stable) job define him. You can have a stable income but not be just another office worker. You have to still make time for adventures, to be unironically invested in your own hobbies, to go out and make things …

And TRP is literally about how to exercise power over women in both relationships and sexual flings. Referring to them as plates, talking about bullshit like the dread game. How is that not holding women in contempt when you have power over them? How is that not losing respect for women?

Yeah, she's shitty, and there are tons of shitty feminists out there. But rape is a massive problem, and women are angry about it. Some express it in a shitty way. But fundamentally it is a movement to make things more equal for women. My initial comment on this was someone straight up saying the ideal red pill relationship is not fair to women. And that statement is just accepted by TRP. I don't understand how someone would want to align themselves with a movement that is based around sharing s…

The funny thing is, I feel you, but in the opposite direction. I'm schizophrenic, but society pushing for me to be confident and stoic and manly drove me to hide everything about it. If I talked about my weird feelings or delusions I got shut down, told to suck it up. This resulted in a nearly successful suicide attempt and a long stint in a hospital. Getting in touch with my emotions, learning it's okay to randomly cry sometimes, and in general getting rid of toxic masculinity is literally the …

Women in those relationships don't think they're shitty? I'm sure some are fine with it (and that's okay), but you are ignoring a vast quantity of women complaining about shitty relationships. Yeah, women like confident and attractive men. Men are also like confident and attractive women. But the complaints come rolling in when those men are shitty to them, but then the women are the ones getting blames because 'that's what happens when you sleep around'. The men are the ones being assholes to t…

What else is female empowerment fucking up? The fact that men are getting called out on their bullshit? And its main focus isn't making 'slutting around' okay (which it is), it's focusing on the hypocrisy of women being constantly judged on actions that men get a pass on. One of those things happen to be the bullshit 'lock and key' double standard, but it's on the double standards in politics and business.

You say that women "naturally and biologically" resent and hold people in contempt, and then deny that TRP hates women? Show me a single study that says that. I've honestly heard that women are generally more nurturing and caring because of child rearing, though I think that's bullshit as well. Though it's not surprising that women in power are "resentful", they've fought their way through an unfair system to get there, and they want to make it less shitty for other women to follow in their foot…

So you're admitting the situation is unfair to women, but then get mad over feminism trying to change the status quo? If you realize that women are put in shitty relationships because "that's just how it works", why don't you support a movement to try and change the way society looks at relationships to make it not "just how it works"? Oh right, because you benefit from the shitty way society looks at women. This is what female empowerment is trying to fix.

I mean, that is the percent of total asexuality, that have 0 interest in sex. I'm not considered that, and there are still a lot of men that are just kinda lukewarm about sex, or otherwise below the stereotypical "ALL THE SEX ALL THE TIME" that TRP seems to imply.

Anecdotally, me and two of my dude friends are not terribly into sex, and I've know 2 girls who considered themselves asexual (one of which is an ex of mine, but we split because long distance). Looking up stats just now, the few studies that have been done on true asexuality put anywhere from .8-3% of the male and female population as asexual. I've never really understood the appeal of random sex. I'd much rather spend an evening with friends or making new friends then just picking up girls. In…

It's a lot more complicated than you make it out to be. I will agree that in general women like fit guys, and men don't care for fat women. Also, on your second point, literally everyone like people that are successful, look 'good' (for whatever their standard is), can flirt. And obviously is desirable. That is literally the definition of the word. But the sex drive thing is where it gets complicated because you're kinda comparing apples to oranges. There are a good chunk of men who don't really…

Okay, I see what you mean. I completely agree that jealousy and selfishness are overly vilified. A lot of emotions are labeled good and bad because of the way people act sometimes when they feel them. Anger isn't bad, but lashing out at someone because of it is. Jealousy isn't bad, but acting on it can be. But I digress. This next point is a bit of semantics, but I would say that love isn't jealous of not wanting to 'share' your partner, but rather jealous of sharing your love. Love is something…

By shared love I mean when two people love each other. If one person feels love for the other but it's not reciprocated, that's not healthy. Best case scenario they talk it out like adults and agree that it's not going to work or that the other needs more time, though it rarely ever actually plays out like that. But you do make a fair point about jealousy. Conceptually, "perfect" love involves a deep and established trust with the other person. You will have already communicated with them what y…

It's important to differentiate between love, attraction, infatuation, and sex. I'm assuming you're talking about romantic love, though familial love can also selfish under the wrong circumstances. But I would say that shared love is not selfish. Longing, infatuation, and lust are all potentially selfish and self serving, but when people love each other and share that, they are open about all of their feelings and inner workings, and being that open with another person is pretty selfless imo. Th…

I'm not going to dispute the fact that there are men out there that think exactly like what you are talking about. But almost all of the feminist men I've ever known have had little trouble finding women (or men in a few cases). But ultimately, it shouldn't matter. It seems like RP tries to make everything about sex, while (reasonable) feminism is more concerned with broader cultural problems. Feminism doesn't really give a fuck if men are able to get laid or not. And 'feminist' men who are in i…
