1	I am really struggling with a strong rebuttal here.. It doesn't automatically make you better, sure. But it increases the likelihood. I would put money on the couple who spent years on an adoption waiting list or who went through IVF cycles and surrogacy as being more likely to be better parents than the young mother who got pregnant because she couldn't afford reliable birth control and the father didn't want to have a kid yet and left her. 1	I am really struggling with a strong rebuttal here.. Of course there are abusive parents who wanted their kids. There are bad families that result from all kinds of birth situations. But with the amount of red tape and regulations gay couples have to go through...IVF is expensive, adoption is expensive, and it's a long, drawn-out process. You've got to be in pretty good financial fitness and have to have a lot of dedication to wanting a kid. A lot of straight couples don't have that. And maybe mixed-race couples are more open minded? But there are issues, such as heart disease, that people think are largely men's issues that affect women too. I don't see an issue with raising awareness of that as long as existing research isn't neglected.
