My ex refuses to work and the court won't enforce it's own work search order. I have 50/50 placement of our child and have to pay $800 a month out of an average salary. 100% agree. Being a father after separation/divorce is like facing the American Ninja obstacle course every fucking day. The State and the ex create every barrier possible to hinder access to the children. Then they rub salt in the wound by utilizing shaming language like deadbeat and absentee father. Not true in my state. They use a formula of your education level, employment record, and previous earnings to set an expected income. If you quit a decent paying job to be a barista they won't adjust the payments lower. Your basically in bonded labor until your child ages out of the system. Clown world bro

My life is pretty Spartan already. 1 bedroom condo $1050. Car loan-insurance-gas $400. Groceries-restaurants $400. Healthcare $200. Anticipated childcare 2 days a week $450. I'm already over budget. No room for emergencies like needing new car brakes, plumbing repairs, an unforeseen injury etc.

Custody will be done in mediation following the initial support hearing. Best case for me it's 50/50. Even then, because of difference in earned income, it would go to 750 a month with childcare on top. So no difference really. The family court will be the death of me I fear.
