Same, mine wouldn't seek treatment and the behavior was just unacceptable and got worse over time.

RP is for people who can't critically think for themselves and a poor man's substitute for therapy. Get off the pseudoscience and do the work on yourself or you're doomed to fall into old patterns. Its not women, its you.

I agonized over the decision to leave and initiate divorce. What did it for me was she'd scream, rage, or just be so negative to me in front of our child that I didn't want them to think that kind of behavior is normal. At least with one household my child can feel safe, supported, and hopefully happy. All the things you state were my experience too, probably an underlying BPD, always extremes with her that got worse over the years. Get a good divorce lawyer and fight for 50% or more on custody.…

Mine used to accuse me of trying to public relations "PR" her or I was controlling whenever I would suggest something or disagree. It was like walking on eggshells every day and I dreaded when she came home from work bc I never knew who I'd get. Behavior may have always been there but ascerbated by pregnancy or maybe being off meds and starting again like mine.

Are you me? Similar ex, I did everything including all the childcare, housework including cooking, long hours at remote job, and trying to meet her needs. Nothing was ever good enough, initiated counseling three seperate times, didn't like the counslers including last one who stopped sessions and recommended rehab for her. I left her and initiated divorce 3 years ago and can honestly say my stress levels are next to zero. It was like a pressure cooker when I was with her and didn't realize how b…

Your children need your stable influence in their lives, you don't have the option to check out. Be strong for them, houses and finances come and go, you will recover those in some form eventually. Seek therapy if you can and support groups. You are not alone, I'm 3 years post divorce with an untreated bpd who is pure chaos. DM if you need to talk.

You describe my situation to a T. Grey rocking and parallel parenting is the only way I'm able to avoid getting sucked back into chaos my ex brings. Unfortunately 50/50 custody so im always worried sick when our child is with her. Perhaps if you were dealing with a person that isn't npd/bpd, it could be different but they are incapable of normalcy. My ex literally makes my skin crawl I have such an averse reaction being around her.

My worst fear is to die alone unloved and unwanted. Hope you're able to do some soul searching and gain perspective so it doesn't happen to you.

Not an attack, I'm making an observation based on what you chose to share. Your responses validated what I thought.

Always two sides to the story, I'm always curious and also slightly disgusted about people when they say they have hollow relationships, or are estranged from children, or insert whatever reason. You HAVE to put in the work both on yourself and also keep at those relationships, especially with children, they are kids, you are the adults here. You have to own up to what you're doing or not doing and get some perspective on how to change and be better. If everyone is cutting you out of their lives…

I just find it so disappointing to see people who don't take accountability. Having your spouse suddenly want to divorce you, or they cheated, or your kids wanting no relationship with you, the mother "poisoning" the kids, etc... Those things just don't happen out of the blue. Specifically /u/dndndnd, you sound toxic af, I wouldn't want anything to do with you either and am glad your family is able to move on. Calling people woke for not tolerating you due to bad behavior isn't woke, it's you ch…

Still waiting on a response. I'm asking bc you making comments around your relationship with your oldest and them being an ingrate, woke, know-it-all, and regretting paying for their school, etc... I suspect a few things but want to hear from you.

Same question for you, what kind of BS do you guys disagree on or how are the entitled? Genuinely curious.

Out of curiosity, how has he censored you and what is the woke BS you mention?

Tried for full custody, lost unexpectedly with temporary orders and played it safe with a 50/50 settlement at the detriment to my finances...lost everything and am paying child support. Worth it to not lose time with my child. Over the last two years I've had my child more and more, about 70% of the time, my ex likes the optics of being primary but has no problem giving up her custoday days.

Great post and past posts, the way you describe your ex is verbatim how mine was (2 years this October divorced), especially holding the medical background over your head. I'm still picking up the pieces but haven't been this relaxed in 8 years which is telling. I too want to set an example for my little one on how relationships should be, not yelling and disparaging your partner constantly.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
