Depends on jurisdiction actually. And it also depends on the ownership of the home in question. If it was theirs together then he could do what he wants. No you can't. 2. Copyright is NOT a legal process. You automatically gain copyright if everything you create that meets the minimum barrier of creativity as determined when you try to enforce the copyright. No they don’t start there. Your request has no real bearing on the court and you don’t normally even specify your request. That’s a tv thing for the most part. It happens, but it’s rare. You normally use terms like that you ask for punitive damages in an amount the court sees fit or sone such. Your demanded sum may plata part in settlements, but we’re talking a court ruling here, not settlement.

It's not that simple. You'd have to get more compensatory to get more punitive damages here. And since his actual damage is so low, the total she can be required to pay is also quite low. That's how the 14th amendment works, at least if we go by the CA Supreme Court's decision which has affirmed that the punitive damages cannot exceed the compensatory more than a 10 to 1 ratio.

Not entirely true. First of all, a judge can always overrule the jury to free. But in rare cases they can even overturn to convict after the jury has rendered its verdict. This however requires a clear showing of jury misconduct. This is one of the reasons jury should typically not talk to the press after the trial because it can reveal such impropriety.

How much money you get is dependent on two things. How much your medical bill for it is, and how much money are you losing because of the injury. In this case, the medical bill was low very low and he didn’t have any loss in job capability or even lost his job over being hospitalized which some employers will fire you for, sadly. No. Evidence must already be in at this point. Trials even begin with a pre trial hearing where you argue about what evidence is allowed and not as well as what arguments you’re allowed to raise. If your evidence was not filed prior to this, you need special permission from the judge to be allowed to add anything and of course, your opposition will likely object.

Not entirely correct. You’re mistaking a not guilty ruling with innocent which isn’t correct. But anyway, plenty of cases are ruled guilty despite no technical evidence, relying entirely on a witness testimony or the testimony of the accuser. Protective custody isn't the same as isolation. But yes, it does happen that prisoners get killed in protective custody as well as isolation. They're not using pepper spray, because pepper spray is illegal. They're using an alternative known as MPK, which is faster acting, but lasts much shorter (like 15min tops as opposed to upwards an hour). But 15 mins is plenty to get away which is the primary purpose of it. It's also stronger than civilian versions of pepper spray, but not as strong as law enforcement types. For the cost reduction, it's a very simple deal really. Proving beyond a reasonable doubt, is generally much easier when the accused is pleading guilty. Heck, most of the time such a plea doesn't even go to trial to begin with. Remember that the insanity defense, is not them pleading innocent, they're pleading guilty, but asking for a reduced or no punishment for it.
