Well if there are plenty who don't exemplify the trend, then it's pretty well established that that's not the source of the happiness and it can be found elsewhere. It's up to them to choose how they get it: i.e., just get a better career and you don't need a man/partner, etc. Actually, healthy single women who don't have issues and have exceptional careers tend to be happier than married women.
