They also have those generic dumb replies "The brain is fully developed only at 25, anybody who wants to date younger only want to do it for power and control" First of all, the 25 part is only for the prefrontal cortex(it still develop in your 20s, but not as much as it does between 13 and 18) 2nd women's prefrontal cortex fully develop at 21. Anyway, some part of the brain starts to decline after 30s, so by their logic only people between 25 and 30 should consent.

Redditors litterally said that a 20 dating a 18 was grooming. I wish I was kidding, I am not able to take the word grooming or the p word seriously anymore due to these trivialisers. I know nobody in real life who would freak out with things like 27 and 22, Redditors are pretty much becoming twitter 2.0

At what point do you consider age gap innapropriate? In quebec, people are rarely judgemental when everyone's an adult(Although thing like 18 and 60 will make people raise an eyebrow I admit)

It is, as a gay guy on dating apps, I had TONS of people older than me hitting on me when I was in my 20s. Did I want to date them? No, they were way too old for me. Do I consider them "predatory" for making a move? Hell no! They just made a move, I say no and they respected by non consent.

They are still together, all of them except one 9 years later. The ones that break up still has a good relationship with her ex. I also a couple where a man was dating an older woman and it turns up the younger man was the abuser(I know she was telling the truth, I witnessed the abuse)

I know many where the women were younger(although the younger one was usually at least 21) why would these women lie in real life to me about their relationship being fine? Although the biggest age gap was 11 years though.(23 and 34)

I personally can get when people are saying someone who just turned 18 can be easier to manipulate than someone who's 25. But the same can be said about very old people. There's a reason that 95% of people who fall to online scammers are over 65 years old. By the logic of "pOwEr dYnAmiC". Handicaped people should no date people with no handicap and the rich should only date rich people. Also people should only date if they share the same muscle mass since physical strength can create uneven power dynamic. As a gay guy who had homophobic parents. Raising the age to 21 would have made my life hell for even 3 more years. Thankfully my parents evolved, but a few years ago, I would not have been able to explore my sexuality

I think it's fine. I am 33 and my boyfriend is 24. We have been together for 3 years and when I met him and I met him in a bar. At the beginning I hesitated a lot because of the age gap. (I put my dating range at 25-35 on dating apps) so sometimes age gap works, but I feel it's different when two people with an age gap meet and someone who absolutely want to date younger.
