Even my mother stayed with my father through things that would justify her leaving. Still is here. She had plenty of opportunities to say "Forget this hell, I am going home to my family and taking [edited] the child." (Which I sort of wish she had. My paternal line is a trainwreck; my maternal line is phenomenal. But she stayed because she was the responsible party in the marriage... still IS.) This woman had no decent reason to do what she did. The best I can say is that she was still too much …

Extension cord plus power strip. You now have at least six outlets at your fingertips. My room's outlets are, shall we say, awkward, so this is my go-to trick and nothing's burned down yet. You could also give the squishy cylindrical expandable earplugs a try, if you find that anything remotely solid hurts. Mash it up, stick it in your ear, it'll fit itself to you.

4'11" and 85 pounds here. There are great jeans in the children's section that make rear ends like ours look fabulous, and since you have a couple of inches on me, they'll be the perfect length. You don't actually mention your age, so I can't help with dressing you for it, but a good dark skinny jean is a great place to start. I am wondering what you measure band size-wise, for 32" to be "big for [your] frame". Sounds like you won the genetic lottery, for all of your body fat to settle around yo…

The good: First, you admit you have a problem -- and I did. Not my first time reading RPW, but my first time being okay enough to say "This is more in line with who I am than modern thought." Also, realizing that in terms of good relationship choices, I was never taught that because... The bad: ...my parents' marriage has been a shambles for most of my existence. They were too busy picking up the pieces. By the time they tried to give advice, I could not trust them -- I knew how broken we all we…

Even if it would be rude just to leave a person hanging?

I disagree -- though I am old-fashioned in certain ways, and introverted besides. I feel as if texting all day should be reserved for those with whom one is truly intimate. That's one of my boundaries: if you and I are not family (blood or chosen) and we are not in a committed relationship, you do not have the right to my time as if we were. Social media and technological standards do not change the expectations set up by being constantly chatty and available.

Finding routine has helped me. I used to have a tough time, but now when I get up and before bed, I have this set order of business. Makeup! As simple or as complex as I want. Even if it's just a bit of lippie to brighten me up. I don't go crazy with the shades; I have a preferred muted red, a nice nude, and a great pink from Sephora. Keeping my style weather-appropriate. There is nothing less attractive than a pinched face, chattering teeth, icy hands, and blue lips. Plus, when I'm warm and cos…

"I use my girlfriends as a crutch to enable my constant hamstering, worrying, and nagging." Time to stop doing that. They'll say what you want to hear; rare are women who will call each other on their bull puckey, especially in more liberal/progressive circles ("You mean I'm not okaaaaaay?") Maybe find women friends who won't validate you but hold you accountable -- offline and online.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
