As well, it’s so painful to be a victim and not be listened to because of how often DV is claimed. It sucks because false claims just hurt everybody

She is not out of ammo when she can just make some new ammo up. Your involuntary MH order can look manipulative, just go file for divorce, file for custody same day, and see what happens. WHEN she freaks, then you can do the MH eval for a good reason. Get the divorce FILED immediately. This was my mistake. I was trying to talk to lawyers before filing, she beat me to it, her lawyer made my filings look “malicious” pretty fucking easy with me pro se.

Hey actually you are the perfect person to be IN jury selection, you shouldn’t have done that. Everybody reading this, if you hate the legal system BE a juror. You can be that voice that ends up saving someone’s life. It only takes one juror to change a verdict.

You need to file and get a lawyer NOW. Before she does. Before it’s too late and you’re posting here “she took everything, I just let her file, what can I do now?”

So you’re saying that you don’t want to be alone, and you want to see this person more, but it hasn’t worked out so far.. Man, stop doubting and start WORKING on getting the time then. Do you love her? Or do you just not want to be alone?

Something I heard once that’s so true… Relationships are a job. A job of falling in love over and over again. Im a firm believer in the power of words and mindset. We’re preoccupied by the things we think about, and take both conscious and subconscious actuons create them, good or bad. When we fear things, we can make them happen. When we ask ourselves a question a million times over and over we’re gonna get different answers, and we’re gonna overthink. I’d suggest this…don’t fight your feelings…

100%, if there’s no parenting/custody order it’s not illegal. Crossing state lines blurs the picture, but cops tend to stay out of it.

You don’t deserve to have your kids with that attitude. I never understood this. I could be dying in a ditch and I’d still never give up at being with my daughter.

No it’s not. I went through the same thing. I was granted an RO hearing that morning. Came home, she was gone with our daughter. Called the cops, emergency RO attempt, denied because if she was gone I was “no longer in fear for my life” Over a month without orders. She wouldnt let me see her, facetime her, pulled her out of daycare, made everybody around me think I must have done something bad if she ran. It’s insane.

The fear is they break. At least in my situation, I know she will. My biggest fear is what happens when that happens. But I’m the guy and nobody listens. If things were reversed and I was the woman, she’d be in jail already. Yet I’m the unrepresented 6’4 guy and she’s got the expensive lawyer. I got the RO hearing. I filed for emergency custody. Yet somehow, she just took her and kept her and my RO was used against me, without ever having gotten the chance to present anything, cross examine her,…

You can get a free trial to Vincent by vLex. I think it’s better than nothing….but there’s a reason they’re making money, especially w the allegations. I would avoid at all costs. There aren’t really any do-overs. That’s what I learned the hard way.

Sounds like you should take a break with an open mind. By that I mean be set on divorce, don’t expect to shake that feeling, but just get some time apart and go from there. A lot of the time if we say “I can’t shake this feeling” that can be the very reason we can’t. A lot of the time it can be totally correct too. Just best to understand what you’re throwing away before you throw it away.

As someone in a similar situation, being pro se has effectively enabled my wife’s parental alienation attempts. Get a fucking lawyer…now. Edit: I know how tough it is. I spent 2 months searching for a lawyer while trying to be pro se. I spent a month and a half being pro se with every AI tool available thinking I had no other option. Let’s just say I’m back looking for an attorney.

Until it’s a man in front of them claiming their wife attacked him physically, controlled him totally, and eventually took their daughter the same day he was granted a show-cause hearing for an RO. I had pictures. Texts. Everything. Her own words. Talks about suicide. She openly blamed me and excused her death threats, saying it was “my fault for making her mad.” Literal textbook coercive control…mountains of evidence of financial control, constant location tracking, constantly using her mental …

I decided after she threatened to kill me for the fourth time. I searched for lawyers, had consults, asked for mediation, did everything I could. She(well, her fam) had the money. She got the papers in first. Silver bullet, she tried filing an RO with her argument that “he called my mom and his mom for divorce so I called 911 because it felt controlling” I finally get an RO hearing against her granted, come home, she took my daughter. My wife threatened to kill me multiple times. I’ve had to barricade doors. She’s smashed out windows. She literally abducted our daughter the day I filed a RO. Nobody believed me. She didn’t give a shred of “he scares me” past her own admission that “it’s because I filed an RO and I’m clearly being controlling.” Lmao. Asking for divorce was coercive in her opinion. It’s been a month since I’ve seen my daughter, all because the woman is always right.

Well, you should love the fact that you’re trying to get better. You’re in this position not because of the external, but what’s between your ears. You’re listening to all the shit you tell yourself, and others are only seeing what you’re showing them. Keep showing them a miserable person that hates themselves…or start working on yourself, because you are worthy and you are capable.

Remember the majority of them probably had good intentions as a bright eyed college kid to “change the world.” If you’re a judge you chose that over much more lucrative options, likely for the chance to help those in need. This attitude has EVERYTHING. TO. DO. Guarantee it. Honestly meeting toxicity with toxicity just amplifies the bullshit. If you’re getting cancelled on and finding women like that, maybe consider those are the kinds of women you’re looking for, subconsciously? We have these ideals we build up…not realizing that they may be what leads us to trouble. We can choose to meet the shitty parts of the world where they’re shitty, or we can choose to stick to morality and being a good person, and the world WILL meet us there. I saw the red flags. I was gonna break up with her when she came over that night for being controlling. First time ever ending a relationship…and she was great in a lot of ways. Well, she came over and told me she was pregnant. I am now currently concerned that she’s been sexually assaulting my daughter with the explicit intention to frame me and get grounds to take her.

Respectfully and with the best intentions…“I hate that she put me here” is a victim mentality. When we give them the power of “they did this to me” we also give them the power of “they’re the reason I’m not healing myself” We make our own decisions, correct? Ultimate accountability leads to ultimate freedom. As long as we blame others for the situations we’re in(no matter if the blame entirely lies on them) we also relinquish our power to overcome and heal.

I’m all in on most of your post..but something that gives me pause… “He managed to get ahold of her phone.” There is simply ZERO reason to ever look at a spouses phone, even if you suspect something, and if you need to do that then there should be some self-reflection there(I know you said your neighbor, but for others)
/r/Divorce_Men11/05/26 07:27 PM

It also provides an easy out for those attempting to avoid facing their own contributions. You don’t have to admit you’ve done something wrong if you set a “boundary” that you won’t discuss anything. Boundary setting is healthy and encourages growth and self-reflection. Control and Manipulation allow avoidance and maintenance of the ego.
/r/Divorce_Men11/05/26 07:25 PM
2

Here’s an example. You can set a boundary that you aren’t going to spend time with someone when they’re drinking. You cant set a boundary that they can’t go out at all because every time they go out they drink and you don’t want that. You can set a boundary that you won’t fall into arguments or you’ll leave. You can’t set a boundary to “not be spoken to” because it leads to argument. The “boundary” must lie in YOUR actions, not theirs. Are you controlling what they do or are you controlling what…

I demanded divorce. Within 45 minutes my wife was down at the courthouse claiming she was “scared” of me. When the judge pressed her saying “are you really scared?” She goes “well…for my property…”. Denied. When I threw my ring down on her desk, it bounced and chipped a tiny little chip off the very corner. Obviously not intentional. We get back home, I say I want my own bed…this poor, poor scared woman goes “No! That’s my room! You still have OUR bed.” Lmao, so scared you fight for me to sleep …

The people that hurt ourselves the most are…ourselves and the way we view the situations we deal with. Life throws challenges. Life sucks sometimes. We can lose the game and let life consume us, or we can choose to be better than the shit we go through and work towards a more positive future. Pity parties(which I’m plenty of guilty of myself..not trying to say I’m any better) are literally just allowing them to continue hurting us. The moment we “forgive” we are free. Buy. But BUY A DUPLEX. This is what builds wealth. Renting means you’re giving someone else your money. Buying means the money you pay stays in your own asset. Are they really her red flags, or the exes red flags? 100k in college debt could mean she’s a successful doctor still climbing out. Point being, this is a divorce sub. Relationship advice should be gotten from people who aren’t bitter about divorce(no offense, I’m here lol)

I’m a firm believer in the mind manifesting the results. So when you sit there and think “she’s not into me, it’s going to end in a failure, you can see it coming” that means YOU are CREATING that failure, manifesting it into existence. I have to work on this constantly, but when I succeed the world rewards me. You have to manifest the positive results, the good.
