Hopefully they will start to enjoy the process and it will stop being about the outcome. So, if I cut off your right arm, but promise to manipulate you into not caring if you lost your right arm, you would agree to letting me cut it off?

As a subset, preventing murder-suicide is a part of suicide. Vanilla suicide is more common and poses a structural threat. I'd argue most incels are net wealth creators: the live, work, consume and invest, they don't reproduce (since they don't have sex), and then when they die the leave stuff left around. Whatever else, that stuff has value. Still, even if incels are a net economic drain, there's a moral aspect to consider. Like in zombie movies, the group that is cut-throat and leaves weak peo…

No it won't, ... Right, but it is usually presented as if it will (solve the problems incels want to solve). sure therapy will not get them a GF, but it may get rid of some of their negitive beliefs and help sorting some of their more toxic emotions. Exactly, helping incels was never the goal in the first place. Help means listening to what the person wants and helping them get that. You've admitted you have no interest actually helping them. That's a flavor my my main point. we agree with each …

Let's say I'm out shopping I'm going to take this item out of the store. I'm not going to pay for it because any or no reason. If they respect my boundaries I get free stuff. If not ... Detain me, how dare you! Stop violating my boundaries! I exit this relationship, I'm leaving! [They physically prevent me from leaving] You are abusing me! You are violating my boundaries! So, enforcing boundaries justifies stealing. Absurd example, sure, but the logic is the same, which is what is important. If …

I think it comes down to what I said, plus a mixture of people who don't actually want to know and just give mainstream BS advice so they can fob them off, but at the same time feel like they have helped. That's allowed because it furthers suicide reduction. If giving mainstream BS advice increased suicides then it would be discouraged. Your talk about therapy isn't relevant. No therapy has getting you a girlfriend as a goal. All therapists will be explicit about this if you ask. So, pretending …

You will be happier when you realize other people are not on earth to solve your personal problems. How is that at all relevant. Having that belief or not, nice things are nice, including nice relationships. But, if your really believe yourself give up the relationships you enjoy and keep telling yourself people aren't on earth to solve your problems. Stop asking people for advice if you dont want to hear it. OK, but then don't act like incels should have just asked for help instead of committin…

i don't believe it is possible to give 100% accurate advice to other people (especially on an internet forum) unless you are a pro. Yes, that's part of my point, not an argument against it. there is no magical answer. there is no magical solution. Let me directly quote a post on this subreddit yesterday: If incels can talk out their problems to a professional and get proper medication, I think 50% of their problems would be solved.

No, I'm saying after a war when it has been mostly men dying there are way fewer healthy men than women, which makes it easier to date for men and harder for women. The opposite is true in places that attract more men than women, like in Alaska.

I don't think you understand mental illness, medication, or incels. You can test this yourself: start asking around what mental health treatment will get you dates or sex or a relationship. You're also ignoring the fact that if you deny anyone intimate and/or sexual relationships that will tend to make them feel bad, or depressed. Silly incel, you don't need a girlfriend, you just need to stop being depressed, then I'm sure you'll find a girlfriend eventually. ... no, trying to find a girlfriend…

It won't be until you're long into your LTR for the number of 2nd+ dates to be higher than the number of first dates. If a man always pays on the first date, and nearly all of the dates he goes on are first dates, then he pays for all of his dates. Playing that game is a losing strategy. She wants to be the one woman you are pursuing, at least pursuing seriously enough to be taking on real dates. Then she should also be giving blowjobs on the first date too, by that logic. You're confusing single moms not being willing to adapt to their partner's preferences, putting their children above their partner, at the beginning of a relationship ... you're confusing that with the inevitable, long-term compromises that come with having children. Based on your obviously bad-faith argument, we can all conclude that single mothers being less adaptable to the men they date is clearly in the con category for everyone. Thank you for agreeing with me!

Regarding being accused of only seeing women as sex objects, I imagined a situation where a man asks many women out before they have a chance to get to know each other, and then he gets a reputation from doing that. Like, he gets a reputation for only interacting with women for the purpose of trying to date them.

I'm also speaking from the perspective of someone with a good career. Women "raise their standards" in that they get hurt by a man for some reason, and vow to themselves to never get hurt like that again. It's a trauma reaction, unreasonable kind of thing. That's how you get women with a laundry list of must-haves. Do you only go on dates with women you're interested in? If not, then you're proving my point. As you get older non-dating-apps ways of meeting people get harder.

Why do guys make such a big deal out of women making them wait for sex--like are there not other women in existence to try instead? Because those other women think the same way. In general I think it's best to assume that people have left out the qualifiers because it isn't reasonable to expect people to write long, perfectly moderate comments on reddit. Sex/dating/a relationship are a higher priority that just-friends for me at this point, so I'd prefer to focus on developing those kinds of relationships than focusing on developing more just-friends relationships. Under different circumstances I might make just-friends relationships a higher priority. The minute you think you are going above and above for a female friend, more then you would a male friend of an equal friendship level, that is a clue to maybe get out, much like you would if a male friend was taking advantage of you. Right, I'm saying: it's common enough that, when applied in real life, there are men who would end up with no female friends. Almost all of the guys I friendzoned ended up becoming close friends with me again — true friends, not orbiters. I’d imagine these guys lack at least one of the three. Not straw man arguments, because I'm not making claims, just illustrating dynamics. Of course it's possible for men to have female friends. If the "math" works out, maybe there is a friendship match that doesn't require the man to go above and beyond what he'd do for a male friend. You're reading too much into a comment that isn't complete by necessity. Of course women form friendships with people for the same reasons men do. If a random small percent will actually be a match, and you can only tell after spending time with them, then the only solution is to try enough to eventually find a match. What do women want in a best friend? That. When I think of what to write it reduces to general being a good friend, not a men vs. women thing. Another way to think about it is that nearly any particular "personality feature" isn't a problem as a part of a workable set. Disagreeable? Not a problem if you don't use arguments to negotiate power in the relationship, among other things, for example.

... guys absolutely hold the agency when it comes to low marriage rates ... If your definition of guys is only the most x%>50+% attractive ones, then yes: you've defined the question in a way that gives you the answer you wanted in the first place. Congratulations. I'll add: if women really were "tryhards" they'd be the ones asking men out on dates, paying for first dates, trying to woo/be chivalrous towards any man who doesn't meet general knock-out criteria.

You didn't agree, you said in exchange for something else of value you'd go sexless. That's on the choice. You get no more than you would otherwise, also no sex. No one is stopping you, so go ahead and do that if that's how you really feel. Doubling down would be you taking a Buddhist monk kind of lifestyle--and some people do!--but that isn't what every arbitrary person wants. Just give up man.

You're not doubling down, you're ceding the point. Commit to no sex for the rest of your life and then DM me in 50 years and tell me how it went. No? Then you have no credibility shaming people for not "improving yourself" (what does that even mean?).

Let's have a thought experiment where, for whatever reason, you don't get to enjoy sex for the rest of your life. Are you going to be just as happy as before?

men ... just never bothered to make the effort: but it isn't as simple as that. Effort .. how? doing what? If we assume we know what it is to do, can you actually do it? If we assume you can, what is the pay-off? And it is guaranteed with 100% certainty, at a certain time? The world is not a sex vending machine: you could put in just as much "effort" as the next guy and get nothing. You could explain-away failure by claiming that the person didn't do any number of absurd things. Men can't even b…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
