That's fair. My apologies for the additional interpretation of your commentary on my part. As for the "L" and my assumption, that's because OP seemed to have excluded Amy. As for the clearly communicating and caring bit, seems like an overreach here. He said his phone blew up from Amy. Nothing to actually indicate anything like what you said. I didn't say everyone would refuse that. I'm saying most people, especially if they've moved on, would stop sleeping with that person at least for a while.…

So what? Why try to hold him responsible? That's like holding me responsible for dating someone who used to be a good friend of an ex of mine in high school, while I was not aware that they even knew each other. No way I could have known. If my ex came to me and was upset to find out I dated someone she used to be friends with in high school, it would unreasonable. It doesn't affect the outcome, but affects the accountability portion. Once again, when a relationship you have with someone ends, y…

If you're not assuming that, then the STD risk is still an invalid concern. As far as the drama part, that I can understand, but again, weird take on this given that OP did not know they were friends. He discovered after the fact they were connected on social media, but not actual/close friends. Can't be scanning the whole town. But also, if whatever relationship you had with someone ended, you owe them nothing. I'm fairly certain most people out there don't warn an ex that they're dating again …

You're assuming they were still FWB after she rejected him. Except, OP clearly said "I'll take the L and move on", and it does seem like she was just jealous he no longer chose her as the plus one for parties. This "prior warning" does not apply if OP actually moved on. It really sounds like he moved on but then she still came back upset at him after the fact, kinda like someone who gets upset you "moved on so quickly" after a breakup.

From a quick Google search that refers to the Oxford Dictionary: <image> Definition 1 does not apply as it refers to exclusion. Definition 3 is a business-oriented definition. Definition 2 applies to our context: restriction to a particular person, group, or area. Okay, now onto "commitment". Definition 1 and Definition 2 both apply. Commitment entails dedicition, but also, more importantly an engagement or obligation that restricts freedom of action. In this particular instance, the action bein…

Sexual exclusivity is commitment. Context matters. We're in the specific context of romance, relationships, and adult intimacy. In this context, commitment means exclusivity. In the quote of mine you have, "said commitment" refers to earlier where I said "emotional and sexual commitment". So it says it right there if you're going to be this dense about it. You get to fuck them without an expected commitment. Relationship and commitment are the same generally unless you're polyamorous, which is w…

I did think of that last part. I know about Lisa being Amy's friend has been mentioned, but I think it's fair to forgive that if OP did legit not know. Though I can probably make the most sense of the jealousy of feeling "demoted" in some sort of way.

I am saying that conversations about sexual health before being FWBs are fair game. That conversation is not a string. It's a safety concern. The expression "no strings attached" means no expectation of emotional and sexual commitment, and no expectations in return of whatever the relationship involved. Feel free to Google it. The whole reason for the expression existing is that it refers to someone expecting something in return for something given. In this context, it typically refers to someon…

That makes sense. I've seen people do this but as an official couple instead. But it does sound like FWB was really more of a safety net somehow. Because otherwise, I don't get the surprise. AFAIK, FWB is not exclusive by design.

I did not claim any of what you're stating in your rhethorical questions. FWB is a non-exclusive arrangement by default. Entering that arrangement without these conversations makes no sense. That's like saying you got married but did not discuss infidelity. These arrangements have specific names and definitions for a reason. If there are further expectations or boundaries to set, understandable. But again, "my understanding" is more of a polite expression. FWB is well-known to be a non-exclusive…

The reason I struggle with this is because my understanding of FWB is specifically to have no strings attached, as opposed to dating.

Did you ever find out why the FWB was hurt?

Fair! Nobody seemed to bring it up as a comment in that post. So you're saying you'd be similarly upset even if OP didn't know of the friendship?

Here goes some love: 1. Hair color: Black. 2. Eye color: Don’t care as long as it’s a piercing look/gaze. 3. Height: No shorter than 5’2” and no taller than 5’6”. 4. Build: Slim and curvy. 5.
