So how you protect your legacy and yourself while staying inside a dead and miserable marriage. I am trying that and need more suggestions

I think having no kids mean you can truly start over and have mouthing to do with your ex once the divorce goes through. It will be cleaner for you. 27 is very young you have your whole infront of you. I would suggest that you put in some emotional work about what you can do to find a healthier partner next time but first you need to decipher what made you choose your current partner in the first place to avoid repeating

This is so true. Although I feel sitting in the quiet is the hardest part but is essential to growth.

If you have a chance. Please do not get married without a pre-nup.

Thank you for your answer. The longer I stay the more I am faced with this reality. In my case I am the main financial provider. Wife is very conveniently SAHM and refuses to go to work even though she will get a job given her schooling but refuses to my face. I will just pay her alimony for the rest of my life

These are all facts. I am so deep in this I can’t possibly fathom that divorce will in any way save me from complete ruin. So you pick your poison slow painful death of your own self while you are married to a soul sucking person ( a complete narcissist ) or just complete financial annihilation along with being shorted on custody.

Chat GPT is telling me it is worth it. Not sure if the lawyer will say the same. I will ask them soon.

So there is some benefit although in my case I am hoping of more than 50/50 but I think that might never happen

The divorce laws in this country are completely broken. The only reason people get married is because men still do not fully understand how bad it is for them to be married plus may may be the ego at that stage helps ( oh this will never be me) type of ego. I do not know how come there is not a movement to advocate for improvement of family law/ divorce laws in this country.

The divorce laws in this country are completely broken and favor one gender massively

We need support and voice for divorce law reforms especially laws around custody for children in case of divorce. If the reforms don’t happen marriage as an institution will cease to exist in this country

Thank you for your comment. This is the truth for 99.9% of men facing divorce Much appreciate your support

Thank you asking this question I am not sure what makes you think about this question but thanks anyways For me the biggest problem is how unfair it is when you are trying to divorce your wife that is mutual. A man will never a get fair trail in court about custody / money or for that matter anything else. Some how in a mutual divorce makes always get short ends of the stick.

My understanding is that the judge in the custody hearing will never allow kids to be in two different states unless there is a special reason.

At first our society needs to improve the imbalance between sexes when it comes to divorce and how assets are divided and also how custody for kids is decided. This alone is screwing men up

Thank you again for your honest opinion and your support It is truly very much appreciated She has Narcissistic Personality Disorder and I see there is no situation in which she will gain insight in her own behavior I will for now have to do radical acceptance of my situation and try and just be passive with her actions. At least now I hope I won’t be shocked by her words and action. I will try and see if I will not be hurt but that is tricky when you are living with a raging narcissist My issue…

Thank you for sharing your experience and perspective it is much appreciated This has been my conclusion so far. I t seems to me that right now I have to sit in the corner continue to eat her shit :) Radical acceptance about being with a Narcissist spouse is so so hard

Man it actually sounds like a great deal. After the initial shock wears off I would say please take your kids and live your life. I wish my wife would do that

You are meal ticket for some woman. Nothing more. If you have kids / family with them you will be used and discarded

Most women are actually not good enough for men This fact is never acknowledged by the society because it challenges the status quo. The idea that men have it easy is just so ridiculous At the very least a man still needs to provide for himself and his partner / family to be considered worth something but that is not true for woman but some how a man needs to do this based minimum and also suck up to a woman by helping out at home just so that he has the privilege of staying the home that he is …

Men gave up on women for sure. The way the system is set up to favor only one gender especially after marriage and in particular if divorce happens. Men get hung in the public sphere of shame ridicule and bankruptcy all the time but still some how women are bigger victims🤮
/r/MensRights23/03/25 07:09 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
