The last scenario is exactly what happened to me. She systematically broke me down, bit by bit. Started with manipulations, then outright emotional abuse, then sexual abuse. By the time she started beating me I was emotionally broken to the point that I couldn't fight back, and more importantly I was convinced I deserved it, that it was right. The few times I did try to do something about it I was labeled as the abuser. I called the cops on her for hitting me and threatening me with a knife and …

It's definitely related. I don't want to go in to details here, but to escape from the pain and stress I was feeling an that was haunting me I embraced habits that got me in trouble legally. I spent a short amount of time in jail and am now on probation. This all happened 6 years ago, but I was only tried and convicted last August. As a result of the felony conviction I can't find work in my field of expertise and am having a lot of trouble finding other work that can pay me enough to be able to…

It happened more than once. They wouldn't even talk to either of us until i was in handcuffs most times, and if she said she was scared nothing I said would mean anything, and I was off to jail till she decided wether or not to press charges. She never did, of course, so I only ever had to stay locked up for a day (or two if it was a weekend) before release. After the knife incident (the fourth time I called the cops and the second time I was arrested and held in lockup. The first time I was jus…

Getting married took time. I have known my current wife since I was 13. We were friends through high school, but drifted apart afterwards. Shortly after leaving my wife we reconnected on Facebook and she became my support over everything I was going through. It took a few years, but eventually we got together in person and we both realized that there was more than just friendship there. Still, it took 7 and a half years for us to get married. My kids are in their teens. We technically share cust…

Actually, that's pretty much exactly the course of events. Thank you for the support. I have worked long and hard to get to a point in my life that I am comfortable being me. I have had the help of my current wife, who has been there for me, helped support me, and listened as I cried, but it still haunts me at times. But I try. That's the best I can do. Get up and try and not let her have control over me. The most interaction I have with her is over the phone about my kids, and I will not tolera…

Thanks, man. To be invalidated like that on this sub... It really got to me (obviously, hence the post) I do appreciate the support, though!

The more people I talk to through the treatment process, the more I realize this is remarkably common. I'm glad you got out before it got as bad as mine did!

Obviously they have never met my wife. I don't get angry or drive aggressively (i almost died at 18 as the result of driving too fast and aggressively. Learned that lesson quick.) but she is insane. Swerving in and out of traffic, speeding, riding other cars asses. Honking all over the place, yelling at traffic. She scares the shit out of me when she is behind the wheel!

A lot of what I described would more specifically be coercion I guess, ( which is still sexual contact against my will. We teach girls that that is rape.) but her forcibly initiating intercourse while I was sleeping is not rape? I was not awake to consent, and when I did wake up I did protest, and she refused to stop. Never once was there even an implied consent. That is a pretty clear case of rape and it happened to me for months, as I detailed in my post. And no, I didn't realize it, because I…

I was raped by my wife constantly for my entire marriage. It started when she would use her pussy as a weapon against me. Every argument, every disagreement would end with the threat that I would never be able to touch it again. This, of course, showed her that she had power over me. It quickly turned in to her forcing me to have sex. It wasn't violent, no, she would guilt me in to it. She would start a fight, and then berate, insult my man hood, my ability to please her. I felt like I had to do…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
