yeah I agree with this. I really agree with what you're saying. I just think personally, looking at a situation, like, that doesn't make me want to dunk on the feminists. Like yeah maybe they exacerbate existing social inequalities sometimes, I don't think the problem part of that is the feminism part I think it's something else I guess and I'm just not feeling the frustration with feminism. :/

I promise I'm really coming from a place of wanting to understand and nothing else. What I'm hearing is this: some feminist organizations are culpable to systemic issues facing men. When engage in dishonest acts it promotes a false narrative that men are not victimized by things that they truly are, and stops men from getting equivalent institutional support. Is that right?

I'm doing my best here, sorry. I was trying to agree with the point that a punishment attitude is destructive and counterproductive. I felt like "broken, nuanceless approach" that "destroyed people's lives" is describing what I see as a punishment culture. I assumed we were talking about the same thing and I was just trying to agree that it's bad and counterproductive. is there something you feel I'm avoiding responding to, I want to give a real response.

Kavanaugh was a high-profile case involving accusations of sexual assault and he was mentioned. I think the attitudes we carry around these things generally are unproductive and harmful, Turner was also a high profile sexual assault case. Felt relevant to me IDK

yeah thanks for the reply feels supportive. I'm not trying to attack the sub here, I just really honestly don't understand where the anti-feminist vibes are coming from. Part of me hopes that it's right and justified, like feminists really are the problem, at least there would then be some clarity in this world.

I agree very strongly with what you're saying, and have been for a while now choosing to use "internalized misogyny" instead of "toxic masculinity" I would add that there's another really good reason to adopt the term "internalized misogyny" which is that it helps to reveal that it's the same problem. It's worth noting that these are statistics for homicide. Yeah this is a fair point. I think you are right to say that culturally speaking, violence against men is seen as way more permissible than violence against women. I think it would be reasonable to assert that a contributing factor to the prevalence of violence against men is cultural attitudes, as you point out. I guess what I meant by that was men are acting violently towards women in a way that isn't true of women acting violently towards men, which is true to my knowledge.

Yes! Thank you. It took way to much scrolling to find this. I'm all for raising men up so to speak, but I don't think it helps the cause to mindlessly bash any group of women ever who ask for more equal treatment. Let's try and stick to the facts.
